Drinks were great and service was even better! Catfish was amazing and best bartender we met in Savannah!

Great food and fabulous service. Loved the fish tacos and burgers(so good we had to go back twice during our vacation. Lastly, you absolutely must have the Fried Moonpie. Don’t leave Savannah without sampling this crazy sweet.

Rudy(Burger) and Moon Pie(Dessert) two things you have to try if you are here. This is a perfect place if you like beer and burgers. They have an extensive list of beers and they let you sample the ones on tap. I would totally recommend getting the Rudy burger. It has blackberry jam and provolone cheese in it. Sounds weird, but it’s delicious. The burger comes with a side, I personally prefer fries. I have tried their coleslaw, it was okay. My friend got the shrimp Po Boy sandwich, definitely not the best one ever. Don’t forget to save room for dessert because they have the best moon pie, it comes with whip cream and ice cream on the side. The vanilla ice cream is delicious, something about it is different. The texture of the pie looks like fried pancakes with melted marshmallows in between. Definitely recommend getting this. The service is good but if the place is even a little crowded, it can take them time a long time to get the food out. I will definitely return to this place for some beer and burger and dessert as well ;)

I like good beer and was looking for this place I’ve got my GPS system and the blue dot is right on top of me this place is next to my hotel, it can’t be… yes it is, I’m in beer distillery heaven! All craft beers tons of local beers on tap and in bottles and/or cans with signs written on the chalkboard letting you know they’re not serving you Budweiser here! I had the Savannah Brown Ale by Coastal Empire and The Sweetwater IPA but the The Terrapin Rye Mosaic won best beer that night by way of a knock out it reminded me of Blind Pig by Russian River it had a taste that hit your senses when you put it down, the taste that makes you pick that beer right back up again! Great selections definitely worth checking out!

Vibe was great, service was a little slow but they made up for it by giving us a free fried moon pie! The selection of beer was fun, reasonable and a great way to try new beer. Definitely would go back!

My friend and I drove into Savannah, checked into our hotel and asked the concierge what the best and closest place there was to grab a decent bite to eat without getting too fancy, she recommended The Distillery. Best recommendation ever! I got the Rudy burger(which was delicious) and sweet potato fries which were cooked to perfection! Definitely worth going here when you come to Savannah. Great atmosphere, tons of craft beer, delicious food, what more could you ask for?!

Beer. Plenty of beer options… mostly craft and microbrews… great selection. Food. Mostly pub, but good pub. I staple on my Savannah trips.

We did not eat there but the menu looked good. The atmosphere was good and the staff held its old. The focus is clearly craft beers and cocktails– you won’t find Budweiser here. Worth a stop!

An excellent stop for their extensive selection of craft beers with a revolving menu on the bar’s 16 taps. Standard bar menu of all the favorites… tends to get packed at lunch and dinner as the location is central to a number of hotels and visitor’s center.

Food was OK. We only had appetizers, which was enough for us. The service was THEWORST we have ever experienced. The waiter was not attentive at all. We ordered 4 different appetizer and they all came at different times. I never got a refill on my iced tea until I asked a different waitress, and she promptly(1 min.) brought me my tea. Our waiter had to be asked several times for a beer that was ordered. THEWORSTSERVICE, EVER!

We went to the Distillery on our first night in Savannah, drawn by reviews of their beer menu and concept. We sat down and ordered beers, however they were out of my first AND second choice. Settling on another drink, our waiter came to take our food order. Guess what? They were out of my first choice for dinner. Service was slow, which was fine, however when it arrived, my husband’s sandwich was missing all the vegetables(which are really a key component in a banh mi-style sandwich. They took it back and fixed it, but then his second onion ring was all papery onion skin and no actual onion. When we pointed it out to the waiter, he laughed. Not the right response. My BLT was fine, but my husband was so frustrated it was hard to enjoy. We spoke to the manager, who was apologetic, but that was after the damage was already done. As a side note, for a restaurant that specializes in craft beers, they should know that, when you serve a bottle of Full Sail Session lager, you need to serve it with the caps still on… part of the fun of Session is playing rock, paper, scissors with your caps!

Totally dug this place. Stopped in here on a Friday night to grab a beer. Had a huge selection, obviously, and settled on the Sprecher Abbey for $ 6. Great bar staff, and great clientele, too. I made a couple of friends at the bar that took me to their next watering hole, and got to learn that I could walk out the door with my beer. Awesome! I’d go back to The Distillery.

Amazing food! We had a large party, and 6 of us each ordered the Rudy(caramelized onions, applewood bacon, blackberry jam, sriracha) and we all agreed that it was one of the best burgers we’d EVER had. Bartenders and waitresses were very friendly and helpful! The pickle vodka is definitely not for everyone, but the bartender let us try for free so why not? Would definitely recommend and/or go back if I’m ever in Savannah again.

In situations like this one, I wish I lived in the city so I could do a re-visit. Most of my disdain with the Distillery has nothing to do with the actual bar. The bar itself looked awesome, and I loved that they had a big sign saying which beers they do NOT serve(Bud, Miller, Coors, other domestics). Plus they had a great beer list. A few locals and a wide array of familiar names. On any other day, in any other circumstance, I could’ve killed an afternoon there. But not on the day I went. I just wanted a drink before driving back to Charleston.(I was the passenger, obviously.) Upon walking in, the bartender gave me this distrusting look. The look of «why in the heck are you here. You’re definitely not 21.» I ignored it and told him we’d just be drinking. He gave me a food menu despite my comment. I put it aside. A quick browse of their list and I found an imperial stout that sounded pretty good. As I expected, he requested my ID upon order. Whatever. Not a big deal. Until you sit there staring it down. Finally, I snapped, «I’m 25. 25. Thanks!» and took my license back. I’ve never done that before, because while I do recognize that I look young and it’s GOOD to be carded, I felt so out of place and uncomfortable at that point. If you want to spend that long analyzing an ID without making any sort of friendly comment, please just get a scanner. This would’ve been a four or five star review if not for the bartender making me feel like I should’ve been playing on a jungle gym rather than drinking at his bar. Approach is important.

Nice place that isn’t really a distillery. The décor is done well for a bar setting. I happened to go on a Friday afternoon while the group was getting ready at the hotel. The place had gotten it’s name from what it used to be historically. This place was a speakeasy during the roaring 20s. The story can be read on their menu. I love a place with history They do infuse their own liqours. I happen ed to order the lemongrass gin martini. I wouldn’t recommend it. It was infused properly and all but it was my mistake to order something that wasn’t offered. The bartender Billy was very nice and helpful with the question I had. I didn’t eat there and my drink sucked [because of myself] so the review is based on service, décor, and potential.

I was in Savannah a few weeks ago for a meeting, and we stayed across the street from the Distillery. A few coworkers recommended the place from when they had arrived a night earlier, and so I was excited to find they were still open pretty late on a Thursday after we had all finished up dinner and everything. The place itself is really nice, and the beer selection is extensive. Although they were working on closing down, the bartenders working let me and my buddy hang out with our awesome beer selections(Craft, not Crap!) and shut it down. They were absolutely lovely, and it was great fun chatting with them. It was great.

In a word, mediocre. The wife had the fried chicken sandwich, which ended up drier than Death Valley and only slightly tastier. It was obviously overlooked. Nearly Inedible. The coleslaw tasted of mustard. Just mustard. Nothing else. A sin against cabbage. And the fries? Mine were okay. The wife’s were not. They had apparently been cooked some time ago, perhaps during the Paleolithic era and left hanging above the fryer. I ordered the fried green tomato BLT. It was good. Bacon could have been a little crispier. The bar was out of mint, yes, mint, how does that even happen in the South? I got my drink within a few minutes; the wife about 15 minutes later. She could see it on the bar, prepared. The server causally strolled up to the bar, where the drink was getting warm, then blamed the bartender for being slow. It also took the server 15 minutes to get us waters even though she offered it. Usually if a server offers an item, it should be readily available. I had a Bloody Mary that was good. The server said something about the vodka being pickled and it tasted like it was. Then we ordered a flight of beers chosen by the bartender. That was a mistake. First, the list looked like it had been written in Sanskrit(see pic). Even the server was unable to decipher it — not that I would expect her to be a linguist specializing in ancient languages. Most of the beer just wasn’t good. What we eventually deciphered as saying«Brooklyn» was the best one. The two beers that appeared to be identified as «stone»(I think that’s what it said) were so bitter as to approach the flavor of tree bark.

After finding out that our first choice for dinner had closed permanently, we ended up back at The Distillery. There was no wait time to be seated and I always appreciate that. Billy came over to take our drink orders, super friendly and earned my eternal gratitude for saying I hide my 42 years really well. I now love getting carded. He quickly returned with my peach moonshine on the rocks. Really good but I realized it was being watered down too quickly. There was an extended delay between getting drinks and taking our food order. I appreciated that he acknowledged and apologized for it – it didn’t happen again. The food was well presented and super tasty. The fries weren’t really needed with the southern fried chicken sandwich. The honey mustard slaw was surprising but delicious. All and all I’ll be back before this trip is over.

Oddly enough it was a user photo of the chalk board that convinced me to come here. What about it? Did it describe a great special they had? A great beer on tap? A sexy cocktail? No. It was a surly sentence of defiance proclaiming what they DONOT have on tap. I instantly knew these folks were legit. They have a ton of good stuff on tap, and no crap. Food was also very good, and we were able to sit surprisingly fast. I had a burger. I don’t usually get burgers, but theirs sounded so perfect. It was. This place seems a tiny bit less touristy than the places frequented by folks with plastic cups on the water. Dare I say it felt… local? I will definitely be back next time I’m in Savannah.
