It was ok but not extraordinary. Too much of butter and greasy. Felt expensive for quality. Better options are available. The ambiance was excellent. The waitress wasn’t friendly . Not going back.

We made reservations for Valentine’s Day — all I can say is WOW! We sat at the bar upstairs while waiting for our reservation. We got sat and for the holiday they had a prefixed menu. I was worried since I am allergic to seafood and most of it was seafood — no other options — but they happily accommodated me. They served a salmon app, shrimp cocktail app, I passed on both. They served a great wedge salad. The main course was surf and turf. They gave my boyfriend both lobster tails and gave me two filets. They were amazing! They asked me if I could have the lobster mashed potatoes, but the kitchen was able to give me plain. The dessert and the Benton Lane Pinot Noir were great! Highly recommended!

Was just there for Valentine’s Day. Décor: Beautiful southern, I would not change a thing. Food: 1. Amuse bouche: a little toastie with a tiny bit of salmon on a cream sauce. Meh, quite boring. Amuse bouche is where the chef can truly show their freedom to create, this was not a good example. 2. Appetizer of soup: DELICIOUS, the best part of the meal — wild rushroom soup whipped to perfection with garlic croutons in the center. The portion size however was ENORMOUS. How that is supposed to be had as an appetizer before a large main is not quite clear. 3. Palate cleanser: Orange sorbet. Fresh and just the right amount. 4. Main of the NY strip: So many issues with this. a. why is this called NY striptease? Extremely inappropriate, and non funny especially given he serious setting. b. asked for the streak to be done medium well, seems like what she heard was charcoal well. No no no no, this is not a mistake a seasoned chef can make. I didnt want to destroy the valentines day date by sending it back and creating a fuss, but it pretty much destroyed the meal because some of the bits I took were just carcinogenic charcoal crusted fat. Disappointing at best, don’t know if its the waitress who made the mistake or the chef did. The rest of the fixings with the meat was also subpar /subflavor. Service: The woman who was our waiter was very cold. Some smiles, being generally easygoing, will definitely help the service experience. Overall, I would go back again but only for the décor and that wonderful soup. On other thoughts, you can probably find something much better in this price range in Savanna. So maybe not.

A fully elegant French restaurant. The first impressions is the dark, elegant setting reminiscent of a Château dining room. Everything was prepared superbly. A wide choice of meats, seafood, soups and salads. The service was knowledgeable and attentive, and had that judge mental flair that is customary for A high-end French restaurant. It is located in abgentile, upscale neighborhood in Savanah near the cities beautiful parks, cultural venues, and art galleries. For Food, service, and atmosphere this place has nailed it. Dress is optional, as a tourist my jeans and outdoorsy outfit was accepted. I suspect this is usually a dressy, coat and tie, civilized spot most of the time. Definitely an upper crust establishment.

We have always wanted to try this place out. Finally got a chance at Savannah Resto Week. We were a group of 12 and we were seated upstairs. The ambiance is beatiful, loved it. And there are few tables upstairs, so it gave the impression of a private room since the other tables were empty. I had the salad, braised beef short ribs and crème brûlée. And my husband had the clam soup, salmon and chocolate cake. We were both disappointed. The food was rich with butter and did not taste great at all. We do not know if that was the case since it was resto week or of it is like this always. May be worth going at a regular time where you can order from the regular menu.

Goodness gracious. Everything about this place was wonderful. So food. My boyfriend and I had the tasting menu with wine pairings and everything was absolutely delectable. The wine was wonderful and paired wonderfully. The food PALED in comparison to our server and the service of this place. We were seated and constantly attended to and our server folded our napkins every time we got up. She was very knowledgeable about the wine and the food. She was also very patient with the fact that we stayed almost two hours after closing. The food is wonderful. The service is wonderful. Everything is wonderful and I am in love with this place. HIGHLY suggest this place.

Superb. . Worth a journey. We had the tasting menu with wine pairings. In a word perfect. Perfect for a date night or dinner before the theater. We travel to eat and this was definitely worth a journey.

So the brick building standing on a Jefferson St corner, with the ambiance of a steaming dreadnaught trudging through the water which are Savannah streets is somewhat intimidating at first. Once you step inside you are greater with a mixture of high class yet comfortable jokes and smells of cuisine that range from blue collar to black tie. We were greeted by the chef and he set us up with his special. First we had a cheese plate, that was as delicious as it was diverse. The plethora of cheddars, goats, blues, and smokes stroked the palate as much of Bob Ross’s brush would his paint palate. My dinner date had the pork loins that were cooked to perfection, I had the scallops. Both were to die for. The sides of green beans and mashed potatoes put anything ever to venture of of the gourmet kitchen of Chef Grandma to shame. The large drink menus of bourbons and wine keep the palate cleansed as we trudged along bite after delectable bite. I give noble fare, Chef Paddy, and his amazing staff, 3 thumbs up, I can do that due to a birth defect, but anyway, I would suggest it to anyone.

Fun, funky atmosphere. Got the chef’s tasting and was not disappointed-the food was awesome. Also, the wait staff was impeccably professional. Can’t wait to enjoy it again!

We came here for a friends birthday dinner the reservation was made for 12 people. From the outside it looks like a quaint little restaurant but the inside décor was just off something about it was just off putting. So for the entire table we got only 2 plates of bread some of us ended up splitting the bread because there was so little it was really good bread though. We asked for more only to be told they ran out. If you knew you had a party of 12 coming to your restaurant I’d assume you can whip up some more bread knowing that someone decided to celebrate their birthday here. One of my friends asked for a glass of piñón noir again to be told they were out of that too. Moving on to the entrée me and a friend decided to split one of the their entrée and we were told they cannot do that honestly I’ve never heard that one before. Most restaurants are very accommodating with that anyway our waitress suggested we could split it if we also ordered a salad again I thought was weird. I was forced to order a salad just so I can split my dish? So we went ahead and ordered the salad and it was down right disgusting I paid $ 10 for a salad I was forced to order that I didn’t end up touching because the lettuce was waxy and tasted weird. The chicken vindaloo we ordered was dry and disappointing. And to top it off our waitress couldn’t split our bills either. I’m definitely not coming back here again. The 2 stars was because the others said the duck and pork dish they ordered was good and the bread was good(if only I had more)

This quaint restaurant tucked away from the crowds should not be missed. Family owned and managed, the McNamara’s take pride in all they do. From beginning to end it was a fabulous experience.

A friend and I drove to Noble Fare from Charleston. A great jewel was discovered. The intimate restaurant atmosphere and staff are tremendous. The food is outta this universe delicious! It was so pleasing to the palette from the palette cleanser mango sorbet to the coffee rub pork melt in your mouth loin! And the food presentation was so beautiful, it made you want to weep for the pure joy of the experience. The warm bread and the pecan chutney were great as well. My friend had the grouper– just tremendous! Chef Patrick McNamara truly gifted in making your mouth feel like a special celebration with every bite! Bravo!

Ah Noble Fare… I hate to say it, but you’re the very reason I signed up to Unilocal.I use the app for reviews and I never say anything but I had to. First of all, let me say our waitress was amazing. Let that be known, I can’t remember her name but she was a delight. Very knowledgable and obliging and professional with great interpersonal skills. So we arrive at the quaint French corner restaurant, with high hopes. The stairs lead to private-esque dining rooms, oddly passing the open kitchen on the way up, which is for some reason, a little off putting. Was this building previously a brothel? Or is it used for porn films after hours? Once you get passed the ghastly decorating, prepare for your amazing waitress to wow you. I have a feeling this is the kind of place that people think is good, because of the whole food art thing. The presentation is given a lot more thought than actual taste of the food and I am under the impression that it is that, that allows people to over see the lack of fresh ingredients and basic quality of taste. It tries to be fancy and to some, perhaps that overwhelms them. I had a romain salad with prosciutto which was essentially half a lettuce and some ham and balsamic vinegar excitedly whipped over it. Meh. My husband ordered tuna tartar and it came out cold and mixed with a mango concoction, which was bland and tasteless but it did have cute little swirls of sauce around, so that’s gotta count for something right? Between entrée and main, we were given a stale cracker with cream cheese and salmon on it that had been prepped and then refrigerated all day, so it lacked fresh flavour. My mother in law had the duck every one has raved about, which was just duck dressed up. It was incredibly underwhelming. I had the filet special, and it wasn’t bad. It wasn’t great. And that’s all I can say about that.

We should have gotten a round of drinks from the dishwasher — we sent back ALL clean plates! Food was CRAZY delicious — my duck entrée, my friends salmon, the steak — even the salads were really delicious! Loved the intermezzo surprise too! Our server Stephanie was extremely knowledgeable about wine and menu — made wonderful suggestions and paced our meal perfectly. Exceptional service, be sure to ask for her! A delight!

The décor is sort of brothel/gothic. The lighting is low. The atmosphere is intimate and quiet. The server was friendly, attentive and accommodating. The amuse bouche was a thoughtful little bite. The grapefruit palate cleanser was a refreshing treat. The salads were very over dressed. The complimentary breads lacked flavor and freshness. Our entrees were severely in need of seasoning. The entrees were very bland and also were served at room temperature rather than piping hot fresh out of the kitchen. The mashed potatoes were watery and tasteless. We dined at a table of 10 and all of our entrees were served with the same side dishes. Doesn’t the chef have enough creativity to customize the vegetables served with each protein? The desserts were small and ho hum. The French press coffee was too weak.

I called to ask how late they were open and if we could come in at that moment(9p) and the lady who answered the phone was pretty snarky saying«well you can come in up until 10». I literally walked over five minutes later and she says that there are no tables available until 10. Didn’t you just tell me you were closed at 10?! Rude and poor customer service. Don’t tell me to come back at 10 when you will clearly be closed. Looked on open table and it says they have availability every 15 minutes up until 10. Well, glad I didn’t waste an anniversary dinner on this place. I should’ve listened to the negative reviews. Also on Unilocal it says they close at 11:30 but they say 10.

Truly a fabulous dining experience! I just love the initial experience the restaurant offers, with black painted ceilings, mostly black walls, a gorgeous black-and-white damask wallpaper and red accenting. It’s tiny and quite intimate and greatly enhanced by the overall décor. Then it helps that the food backs it up! Our wait service was quietly competent throughout the entire meal and was a thorough pleasure. We started with a tasty little amuse-bouche and followed it up with two salads: a baby wedge and the grilled romaine. Both salads were excellent. I loved the charring on the romaine along with the resultant depth of flavors. So good! Our entrees were excellent as well. My husband had the duck dish. HIs was cooked perfectly and very lovely. Subtle, homey and delish! I had the strip steak and that was outstanding. It was prepared philadelphia style, with an herbed, slightly charred crust and served over potatoes and asparagus. SO highly recommend it. We NEVER indulge in dessert — but our server was QUITE the little salesperson and, two minutes later, we were enjoying a bit of chocolate love cake… that was love in chocolate form. So good. Overall bill was reasonable and the evening was delightful. VERY highly recommended!

After reading all of the reviews I was excited to give this place a try while on a quick trip to Savannah. Unfortunatley from the moment I stepped foot into this restaurant it was one disappointment after another.
I have traveled the world, including France. I have tasted amazing food from a cheap restaurant and lousy food from a high end restaurant. I know the taste of good food versus the taste great food and this place is truly over rated! Overall my experience here included outdated/wrong information, poor customer service, a restaurant and its staff who tries so hard to be «fancy» it’s sickening, and when I asked for salt and pepper brought to the table(which should have already been present or offered) the waitress brought me 2 empty shakers.
As soon as I entered, I asked the hostess if they could accommodate a table for 2. The hostess told me it would be a 20 minute wait(which I was fine with) then she ran upstairs leaving me standing– No chairs were present and I was left standing. It wasn’t until 10 minutes later that a waitress came up to me and informed me that there was a bar upstairs that I could lounge/drink while I waited. Then while upstairs the 20 minute wait turned into 30 minutes. After we got seated the waitress informed me that they ran out of a few dishes, which was extremely disappointing because I came to that restaurant specially for the lamb dish — which they ran out of. I then ordered the grouper with couscous and was delivered a dish that lacked salt altogether. The fish was good, the couscous was nothing like the one traditional couscous I had in Morocco, it was too thick and without the sauce it would’ve tasted like sticky little pieces of pasta. My boyfriend ordered the steak. The waitress didn’t ask how you he’d like his steak cooked, I had to ask specifically to be informed of «how they cook their steaks» it was upsetting that a restaurant chooses how to cook steaks to «their preference» rather than the customers, so we had them change the way our steak was cooked to our liking. On top of everything one of the reasons we had picked this place was because of of their hours. Their website says they close on Saturdays at 11:30. When it was 10:30 I noticed them cleaning up to close. I asked about their hours and the waitress responded that they now close at 10:30. Their website lists their old hours. I am definitely not going to be going back.

Rarely has a restaurant of any purported fame inspired me to have temporary thoughts about setting up a competing venue to simply outperform them on the basics of restaurant management, great food, and even better service. Not that opening and managing a restaurant is an easy process, but if Noble Fare is the shining example culinary excellence in Savannah, then the clouds would part for the rays of light when my French-style restaurant, in honor of La Tour Rose in Lyon, would open in the vicinity. My experience started with an ably met reservation that put us into a warm and well decorated restaurant of possibly 16 tables. It continued with a missed wine order, a double undercooked meat problem, slow or forgotten service where other tables came and went with expedited service, and dissolved with a manager’s apology like an alka-seltzer in Perrier water. While I prefer to overdress in honor of a good restaurant, it takes more than a wee dram of whiskey for me hide my dislike of restaurants that don’t honor their own rules of conduct. No cell phones? Smartly dressed for dinner? No baseball hats? Guess what I saw… Looking back at Noble Fare, I may return in the future to see if my impression was misplaced or it was just an off Friday night in hot weather.

My bar tender from andaz hotel turned me on to this place. I’m very happy he did. Not to many people know about this place. It’s not mentioned in the tourism seen and that is one of the big reasons I wanted to go. The places the locals recommend are usually the best. The food was excellent. The place was super cute and the service was superb. I have nothing bad to say about this place.
