Love this place! The food, specials, and excellent service have put Tijuana Flats at the top of our list of Tex-Mex chains in Savannah. As a matter of fact, we quit going to Chipotle and Moe’s in preference for TF. The food is very good, but it’s the SERVICE that makes the biggest difference. Yes, you order at the counter, but they bring the food to your table, they keep checking to see if you need refills on drinks or salsa, and they do the table cleanup themselves. Very friendly staff and management, they deserve to be tipped generously.

I tried their sampler this time and it was better than the enchilada plate I had last time. They have a hot sauce bar that I was about to say is cool, but actually it’s just really hot! They have really good happy hour prices, so definitely go then. Casual atmosphere where you order/pay at a counter and they bring your food to you.

Main selling point: they use a lot of non-GMO and humanely raised meat. I have tried Mexican food all over this God-given earth. This is absolutely the best food I have had in a long time. Other Mexican restaurants, even expensive downtown ones, pale in comparison to the quality of food here, and this is supposed to be fast food! I have to say, I was way more than pleasantly surprised by everything this restaurant has to offer. I ate here three days in a row and I never do that, you can blame their flautas! They were amazing! As far as affordability and quality of the food goes, nothing in town compares to this. Update: this is more than most will read, but I’ve been coming back repeatedly and noticed how consistently awesome the customer service has been. They go out of their way to improve their service to not only the customers, but the community too.(They apparently volunteer often in the community.) I see a real sense of teamwork from the staff and management. They make making tacos look like fun. They are constantly updating their décor and coming up with ideas serve customers. I own my own business so I notice things like this. It’s very pleasant to be greeted by name with enthusiasm. BTW, my waitress was dressed enthusiastically dressed to the hilt for Taco Tuesday. Who has motivation like that these days anymore? *SLOWCLAPPING*…

Tijuana Flats is wonderful. The food is way better than Chipotle. The food and service were great.

This place is pretty great for what it is. Pros: Fresh. Very fresh food. Kids eat free on Sundays. Their queso dip is amazing. Huge portions. The hot-sauce bar is really well stocked with a wide variety. The staff is always very friendly, helpful and quick. They offer applesauce as a side with kids meals(candy too if you’re into that). Cons: the chips can be too salty so if you don’t like a lot of salt, ask for the chips lightly seasoned.

It was very good! The staff was very nice. I think the chips are the best in town. I love the healthy options on the menu. I bought the Groupon to check it out, but I think my husband and I will go often. The prices are very good and I love the upbeat atmosphere. I disagree with the person that said the set up is weird. I think it’s really nice and I love how bright it is inside. Taste: 5 out of 5, atmosphere: 5 our of 5, staff: 5 out of 5, cleanliness: 5 out of 5(the bathroom was very clean as well). I was very happy. I look forward to going back next week to try something different. I also look forward to be able to sit outside once the weather is warmer in the evening.

Ehh… It was… not great. First of all, you walk in, the set-up is really weird. You order at the bar, but there is no line like a typical counter-service type restaurant. The tables are spread out sparsely and weirdly – it reminded me of a bar that serves food but with plenty of standing room for people to mingle and dance… except it’s not a bar. There was a weird«hot sauce» station, with like 15 samples and tiny little Barbie doll-sized cups to try them with. The menu was extensive. I tried the flautas with beans and blackened chicken. They were okay. The beans served on the side were congealed, the rice super dry and overcooked. The queso was gummy. The chips had a weird, like, salt and pepper seasoning I didn’t care for. My husband had a burrito and said it was delicious… but let’s be honest, when it comes to casual dining he’s pretty easy to please(he’s a huge taco bell fan). We didn’t experience what others have described as poor service. On the contrary, I felt like the waitstaff and manager went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied – almost to the point of suffocation. I think we got asked if «everything was okay» at least a dozen times in the span of 15 minutes. Plus the manager asked if we’d come back and gave us free taco coupons. Imma skip it next time. Blah.

The food is pretty good and always tastes and looks fresh — I’ve tried the tacos(really good) and the noritto bowl(pretty good) but what really impressed me(besides the large selection of very tasty hot sauces) is the customer service! I’ve been in 3 times so far and all 3 times I’ve been helped by a different employee. Each person was extremely nice and in some way went out of their way to make my experience exceptional. Not only that, but I’ve heard them being equally accommodating and helpful to other customers while I was waiting for my food.

I tried it out for the second time today because I believe in second chances. The first time I went they definitely messed up my online order. This time I called in and the woman who took my order was very pleasant and upbeat. It took longer than they said it would to make my food but it was definitely better this go round. However they were about to let me walk out without paying for my food. The queso & chips are definitely worth the trip in my opinion because everything else is just ok.

All of the reasons other reviews have already stated, this place is obscenely loud,(which is probably why they can’t get an order right for anything) and the food is like middle-school cafeteria fare. I gave it stars because the staff is really friendly, which is the establishment’s only redeeming quality. Sad.

Don’t go here. Go across the street to Chipotle. You’ll be glad you did. So let me start off my explanation why by saying I actually liked my food-I got a Carnitas burrito. It arrived slow, but the manager who greeted us at the door said they were short-staffed tonight, so not too big of a deal. It was ok but bland. Thankfully one of the hot sauces at their spiffy hot sauce bar livened it up enough to make it tasty for me. My wife, however, did not fare so well. She ordered their«Not a Burrito» bowl with chicken, cheese, beans, guacamole, light rice, and no tomatoes or jalapeños. The first time the waitress came over with our food(after nearly 30 minutes-again, they were short staffed) was comical: She gave me my burrito, and then she read straight off of the receipt for the bowl: «Here’s your bowl with this, that, the other-AND NOJALAPEÑOS». And as she lowered the bowl, there were bright green jalapeños littered on top, and no cheese or guacamole at all(which we had paid extra for). So I had her take it back. Can they please take the jalapeños off and put the missing stuff on it, like my wife ordered? No problem! They’re very sorry for the trouble, and here’s a gigantic bowl of chips and salsa on us! All very standard restaurant apology stuff, no big deal. I start giving my wife bites of my Carnitas burrito while we go into waiting mode again. She hated the hot sauce I used, but after a plain bite agrees that it’s pretty good. We also try the C&S while we wait(chips ok, salsa is bland and watery-any decent Mexican place’s complimentary C&S is much better). Fifteen minutes later out comes a new and different bowl. It WAS different, but it was STILL not what she had ordered. Still no guacamole, no beans now, everything is drowning in a sea of extra rice-which she didn’t even want. My wife is starving, completely frustrated and almost in tears. That’s it! Angry Husband Mode engaged: THISORDERISWRONG-AGAIN! WHYCANTSHEGETWHATSHEORDERED?! 5 minutes later out comes the manager, and he’s tremendously sorry. Seriously, words cannot express just how sorry he is. He’s going to comp our meals, and here-here’s a gift card so we can try them again on a better night, because he’s sorry. He REALLY wants to show us that they CAN make her meal properly, so he’s going to PERSONALLY remake a to-go bowl just as she originally ordered-he reads back her exact order from a reprint of the receipt here-and he’s going to throw in some of their TOTALLYAWESOME Cookie Dough Flautas for dessert on him, because he’s REALLY sorry. We told him thanks for the bowl, but there’s no need for the dessert-we don’t really eat that much. But he insisted-he wants to make things right, and above all, he’s sorry. Did he say he was sorry enough? Because he wanted to let us know-he was. 15 minutes later, after sharing the last of my carnitas burrito with my wife, out comes the to-go order of the TOTALLYAWESOME Cookie Dough Flautas, and her bowl that the manager had made PERSONALLYJUSTFORHER. He forgot the cheese. I was going to protest again-I really wanted to see how many times it was going to take before they could finally make her bowl the way it had been printed out on the receipt-but was stopped by my wife. There was no need. She had tried some of the cheese from one of the earlier bowls, and it wasn’t that good anyway. She just wanted to be gone from this den of ineptitude and failure. We tipped the wait staff and left. After we got home she tasted the bowl-utterly bland and unremarkable, just like all of the other bowls she tried. And those TOTALLYAWESOME Flautas? They are sweet and sugary but not much else. As my wife asked incredulously, «How can CHOCOLATESAUCE taste bland? I didn’t think that was even possible.» We threw them away after a couple of bites. The decision became simple and unequivocal-there will not be a next time for her. Maybe at another local location for me(I have to be the one to use up the gift card after all-wife won’t go near the place again), but not here, and DEFINITELY not on a Sunday under that sorry manager. Because he was sorry. So very, VERY sorry.

I always get the chicken chimichanga with refried beans. It may be the best thing in my opinion. I love this place, but it deserves a four simply because the last and currently… present time I ordered my food, it took about 20 minutes to receive because there was only one worker. And the amount of food has also changed. My chimichanga has somehow flattened and the amount of food given from the combo looks like it was reduced by half. I can eat a lot, so I was not very enthused. During this time, there are normally multiple workers in the back and registers, so not saying this a usual thing; however, consistency is important to me. I went around 3 – 30 pm and the crowd was slow. On a normal day, it can get kind of crowded. The restaurant itself is interesting and has a health rating of 96.

Wow… I wish I could given zero stars. I’ve worked in the food industry my entire life and I can tell you this place blows. It’s really bad I’d rather eat taco bell or just go to chiptole. The food quality is terrible the menu is toooo much. The setting and music are terrible, this whole neon filled theme makes me want to end my life. I can’t express how bad this place really is.

I really enjoyed my meal here. The only strange thing is that tell you it’s a full service restaurant, but nobody comes to refill your drinks or ask you if everything is okay. We tipped over 20% when we placed our order, so I was a bit shocked. It’s good but I like Chipotle a bit more.

Definitely not a fan. My husband and I stopped by after hearing good things about Tijuana Flats, but we will not be back. Very bland food — not what I would describe as Tex-Mex at all. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with chips and queso and he ordered the carnitas chimichangas with rice and beans. The chicken was dry in my enchiladas and the queso dip was actually just melted velveeta(or at least that’s what we thought), which wasn’t terrible, but it definitely wasn’t what we thought it would be. We both thought the quality of the food was pretty low(yes, I understand that this is a cheaper place, but we could have gone to Taco Bell and had a much tastier meal) If you’re you’re thinking about going to Tijuana Flats, don’t. Head across the street and have Chipotle instead.

I stand corrected. Tijuana flats got their act together. Had the mahi tacos. Very good. I recommend the bee sting sauce with them service was outstanding. I’m curious to try the hemp burrito. Thank you for stimulating my taste buds!

Steak bowl was ok(I will stick with Chiplotle for bowls). I won’t order a bowl again. My husbands chimichanga was good. The chips are better then Moes or Chiplotle. The fish taco at the table next to me look good… I’ll try that next time.
