Went here for game 3pf the nlcs or 1 inning of the nlcs. I had called last night to see if I was allowed in with a baby I was told yes at a table or behind the bar. Then tonight we arrive and were told all the tables were being taken up tonight due to darts. That’s fine. But wouldn’t you tell me that over the phone? There were also specials supposed to be if you were wearing a certain shirt. That wasn’t applied either. Very disappointing.

Nice pub that has an old Irish feel to it. Good choice of beers on tap. Bartenders are always friendly.

Stopped in for St Paddy’s day. Happy hour till 8pm free and delicious corned beef and cabbage — just the right size crowd and good bartenders keeping the Guinness flowing. Will be back.

Good local Irish pub that caters to people who just wanna have a few pints with friends and is always open til 4AM. They have food now too which is a plus. Great bartenders too. It’s a nice alternative to the other bars in the area that cater to frat boys and the club crowd.

Often empty late nights, but not bad when some friends and I want a nice beer selection and to just hang out.

Place has a good variety of beers and a true«Irish pub» apparel. «Sampler» was awesome! It was a boat-load of food for a good price. I will return to take up their offer on their 25oz mugs! And to return on Monday night«mug night!»

Stopped in for a late night drink and order a vodka mixed drink and a bud light bottle and I was charged $ 30. in my opinion we felt like we were a bother for the staff that was cleaning and trying to leave. I will never come back here

This bar has got to be one of the best around. I’m not talking fancy drinks, club music, or any of that over the top nonsense. I’m talking about a bar that never charges a cover, where everyone is almost instantly welcomed as a regular, by the regulars, and where you know your baternders names. This place is Long Island’s very own«Cheers», but better. What other down to earth bar can you walk into on a random night and possibly see some guy walking around on stilts? So what if that guy just so happens to be me. Anyways, Ive been coming to this bar for just over a year now, and its become like a second home to me. The people there become like family. So come in and have a drink, play some darts, control the music with the internet jukebox(which has everything from the Muppets singing Bohemian Rhapsody, all the way to Skrillex). Oh, and make sure to tip your bartenders, and tip them well. They are all awesome.

Great hang out! Lots of selection on tap, friendly & knowledgeable barkeeps, room to breathe(though I’m sure it could get crowded, it wasn’t too bad on a Sat night with no notable sports going on). $ 5 a drink, but they have specials throughout the week. Going back? Yes.

Kind of a weird bar, but probably a good time if you bring a lot of friends with you. Went here for a birthday last night(it was Christmas in July, which was cute) and the bar was oddly empty. Maybe it gets more crowded after 11pm? Either way, decent prices, nice staff, and did get a buyback. Take note: This place is cash only, as pointed out by the bartender when I tried to hand him a credit card. There’s an ATM there for you. Parking is OK, but limited, and there’s a Friendly’s next door if you have an ice cream craving.

This is hands down my favorite place to hang out with my friends when I’m home on Long Island! I didn’t know they served food until reading some of the reviews but I’ll definitely have to check that out! As far as the atmosphere goes, the place is awesome and they have a pretty good draft beer and bottle selection. All draft beers are $ 5 and you can often find local brews like Blue Point on tap. In some bars, you’ll find that they give out little bowls of peanuts for people to enjoy. Not here. At the Half Penny, they give you giant bowls of popcorn popped in one of those machines that you see at movie theaters! Another nice perk is, once you buy a few beers, the bartenders usually gives you a buyback so you wind up getting some free beers! A lot of people I see, like playing darts or just hanging out with friends, which is exactly what this place is for. They often have on a couple of different sports games and/or movie channels(last time I got the best of a Yankees game and Beerfest). If you are looking for the type of place to go out and dance and be in a crowded, noisy environment, this place is totally not for you. The bartenders are friendly and attentive, the people are fun and relaxed, and the music is good… not this stupid dance stuff like Kesha or whatever! I highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area! There is a Friendly’s right next door so you can even grab some food or ice cream beforehand!

Good pub food. Dollar burgers at happy hour. Hard working bartenders.(Ray is an awesome dude). Often a buyback. Internet jukebox. Pat the cook is engaging and inspired. Cultivating a good local feel. Many taps. There is a good cemetery behind this place, for those interested.
