They wouldn’t let us leave. I had to stand up and ask for the check. They forgot about their patrons and I felt snubbed.

The location is small. The place reminded me of a small restaurant I went to outside of Tokyo. The décor is very small town Japanese. The ramen noodles and gyoza or dumplings were very good. The sushi is alright not the best but good enough. The service I found to be quite good. I will definitely return here in the future.

No idea what’s happened here recently but wow has the quality gone down. My mom got sick the last two times we came. The first time that happened we figured maybe it was a fluke or unrelated to the food, but the fish just didn’t taste fresh. Such a bummer. Will not be returning.

Don’t try Japanese food in Scarsdale, unless wasting money and eating bad food is your thing. Along with South East Asia and Yamanoya, this place is disappointing I taste though it has a clean venue and okay service.

Lovely, quiet place to get my sushi fix without the chaos of some other restaurants. I love rolls simple and their tuna or salmon rolls are delicious, nicely portioned, and filling. Excited to come back.

Very good food, and the staff is really wonderful. I came in to get take out recently, and the woman at the register offered to hang up my coat while I waited, and gave me a complimentary cup of tea because it was so cold out. I can’t remember the last time I got treatment like that! Great lunch and dinner specials. Prices are very reasonable.

These positive reviews are scary & you really must question your sanity if going to eat here. I understand Sushi Mikes is too far away, really? It’s worth the drive! If you insist Sushi Mike’s is too far away then drive down the pipeline to Hartsdale where there is also good sushi & only a mile or so away! Azuma in Hartsdale has much better Sushi. Food here is okay nothing great. Wife just had a baby so was ordering tons of take out from all over. Wife orders take out sometimes from here as she tells me Sushi Mikes is too far. I just shake my head but I did go along for 2 Philadelphia rolls that were bland & since we got Sushi Mikes take out recently the comparison was pathetic. So go here if you must but understand nothing great here & much better sushi around. I am sure the sushi will taste fine but there is better to be had close by!!! I am ashamed to admit to eating here several times years ago when we first moved to the area & were sadly unaware there was better sushi close by.

Every bit as good as Sushi Mikes, and having been to both within a week of each other I believe I can say that pretty confidently. The Sashimi portions were very generous and were served at the correct temperature. The fish tasted very fresh. I would strongly recommend.

Received delivery tonight from Kirari and will NEVER order from this place again. The California roll had an avocado in it that was was rock hard. The chicken fried rice is inedible and floating in grease. Okay, okay I know what chicken FRIED rice is but this is literally floating in oil. I contacted Kirari immediately after taking one bite out of the roll and seeing the condition of the entrée. I called once and nobody answered. I called back and spoke with the«manager» who never apologized and instead asked me if I had tried their fried rice before. I explained to him that I had eaten their fried rice before and this was a first. He sat in silence on the phone without apology and finally asked, «What is it that you want me to do?» I explained that I didn’t want anything but as a manager I would appreciate it if a customer called to let me know the quality of food that is coming out of their kitchen. He again sat in silence on the phone and said nothing so I ended the call. Don’t waste your time on this place and certainly don’t try delivery with them.

Best place for sushi! Love their sushi menu! Always fresh, the space is a bit small if you dine in but it was rarely crowded when we went.

Good food. But after reading Korry. g review, about not treating a disable person the right way, i am very disappointed! So good food, but they should improve their attitude.

Solid Japanese restaurant. Somewhat limited menu. Sushi is OK. I have been put off in the past by a fishier than average aroma on the premises. If you want yosenabe or sukiyaki, you are out of luck.

THEGO-TOPLACEFORSUSHI! Even though there are two other restaurants that serve sushi on Garth Road — Kirari is THEPLACE to go for the best sushi. They have your basic sushi choices as well as special rolls — they satisfy everyone in my family! I am soooo tired of going to sushi restaurants that only serve the special rolls of the moment. You don’t have that problem at Kirari because they have everything. 99% of the time I prefer the rolls, maki and sashimi without all of the mayo and cream cheese. Want just salmon sashimi, salmon roe, tuna and shrimp maki and a California roll? This is the place to get it. And their special rolls are excellent too, says my daughter. Often times I have Kirari’s EXCELLENT Shrimp Tempura entrée. I made the mistake of getting shrimp tempura from the Asian restaurant on the opposite side of the street last month. It cost more and was barely one tenth as good as Kirari’s and they didn’t serve it with vegetables! My BF prefers Kirari’s Beef Teriyaki and Teriyaki Combo. My daughter is wild for their Tropical Salmon. Kirari is also a lovely place to eat in. The décor is cozy and there’s subdued light. Why are so many Asian restaurants lit like dungeons? Two on Garth Road are like that. Another, the very good Chopstix, is lit up like a kitchen and I won’t eat in there. Be advised that sometimes there’s a wait to get at table at Kirari. But crowded is GOOD. It means the food is super FRESH!

I quite like Kirari. We are locals and therefore frequent visitors. This is our favorite Japanese place in the neighborhood. We always get the same thing — an assortment of sushi and maki for me, and the chicken katsu for my husband. We have two children, and the staff always accommodates them well. The food is typically fresh. Here are my gripes: Some members of the waitstaff are friendlier and more efficient than others. I don’t like that they charge $ 2 for a bowl of white rice; it usually costs fifty cents to a dollar. The prices at this restaurant are on the high side in general. That’s it, though. The easygoing service and good food keep us coming back, unless we decide to go into the city for Japanese. We’ve tried a few other Japanese places in the neighborhood, including Haiku, and have found Kirari to be the best.

Very good sushi place. Their chicken teriyaki is excellent. The only problem is that it’s kind of expensive. But hey, that’s the price you pay if you want quality Japanese food.

Horrible management! Refused the access of a disabled person with a service dog and didn’t even TRY to read the law presented. Not knowing the law is fine, but I HATE when people don’t even try to understand the information presented. ABSOLUTELY disgusted with the attitude and the ignorance. Not worth a penny.

This place does not change with its consistency of food quality. Obviously, you wont eat the best sushi ever at a location like this but it is pretty darn good for the neighborhood. This place is located near the Scarsdale Train Station, and it is small, but don’t let the size fool you. The food is good for a Westchester location. Yes when you think of sushi and Westchester, many think about Azuma in Hartsdale. I, personally, never tried Azuma, but this place is pretty damn good with its food(hot and cold). I usually get a sashimi platter or a bento box here. The green tea is solid and they provide it free of charge with free refills. The service here is great; they are attentive. Once you are seated, they give you a hot moist towel to clean your hands. The sashimi platters are filling for the value. Again, the food quality isn’t the best, but it is NOT bad either! For Westchester, this is probably one of my go to spots for Japanese food. When i order sushi, i’ll order here, if i order a bento box… i’ll order here. Last night i was here and ordered a salmon teriyaki bento box. For $ 21, you get miso soup, salad, sashimi, assorted tempura, shumai, and salmon teriyaki with a bowl of rice. ITWAS A LOT, and i DESTROYEDIT. It was soooo good, and i was so full by the end of the meal, but it was worth it. For the value you pay here, you do get your money’s worth. Awesome place for Scarsdale.

My favorite sushi restaurant in NY by far… I’ve tried almost every special roll on the menu and the Neptune Roll is my favorite. Every visit I’ve had has been spectacular food and service wise… but seating wise… why oh why do the yuppie couple that puts their very loud and obnoxious kid in time outs that never seem to make a crap load of difference always have to sit in the table next to me? WHY? Also, why bring your kid to a sushi restaurant and ask for french fries? Next time. I’m gonna sharpen my chop sticks.
