I came in to the Eeste Lauder stand to get matched with the perfect foundation for my tan skin and left extremely satisfied. I had a flight to LA that evening so I came last minute not sure if I was going to be able to find the perfect shade. Yellina (I hope I spelled your name right!), however, attended me quickly and introduced me to 2 more products (bronzer and Night repair oil) and was able to match me perfectly. I have a darker skin complexion and it is very difficult to find a shade that doesn’t wash me out nor is too dark, but she made the experience a pleasant one. Definitively go to her and listen to her recommendations as she knows what she is doing! Thanks!

Tried buying nikes here
Was told I could only get the shoe from someone in the athletic department by a lady in the women’s shoe department which is right next to the gym shoes. only person I saw was the cashier… He helped but they didn’t have my size and didn’t seem too concerned to look for it for me in a different size. I left… I’ll purchase nikes somewhere else. Awful customer service.

I always luck out at this location. They have a nice selection, great deals, and helpful employees.

Went to macys at woodfield mall for a Lancome event. What lovely elegant and classy women that work at Lancome. Had a facial by Z and makeup by Carrie and consultation by Katelyn. Brought my 25 year old severly disabled son with me and they were all so wonderful and caring. They kept an eye on him while i had my facial. They insisted on helping me. Thats what going to beauty counters should be all about helping women feel good. I sure had a lovely afternoon and learned so much about my skin care since i have lupus i need all the help i can get. Excellent customer service by all the women at Lancome and very knowledgeable. I will definitely go back to Lancome at woodfield mall. Katelyn is my new lancome girl. She is so sweet beautiful and helpful.

I’m the gal that only reviews local businesses — or at least smaller businesses. You won’t see many reviews of Wal-Mart’s or McDonald’s on my profile. That being said, if I experience something alarming (good or bad!) I always want to add in my $.02. My hope is that someone from Macy’s sees this review and makes a change — a girl can hope :)
I ordered three maternity dresses online and unfortunately none of them fit. I went in to make a return, and stopped at the first desk I could find with an associate visible. I first asked, «Can you process online returns?» — I knew it was possible there was a separate area dedicated to online returns. I was told yes, so long as it wasn’t fine jewelry. I told her I had dresses, and she said it was fine. After taking everything out of the bag, my wallet, ID, and credit card, and her trying to process it — she then said, «Oh, I didn’t realize they were MATERNITY dresses. I can’t do those.» I was then told I needed to pack everything back up, and walk what seemed like forever, to go downstairs, then to the OTHER side of the store, to the Maternity section.
I took the trek down to the dark dungeon of sections that are rarely shopped, and lo and behold (but not surprising to me) — there was nobody at that particular register, just a handwritten sign, saying to go elsewhere. I tried three other registers before finally walking over to the fine crystal department and begging someone to help me out. And guess what? She processed the return at a normal cash register.
Very frustrating — not only was it rude, but insensitive to tell a 9-​months pregnant woman to walk halfway across the store to make a return! Poor customer service.

Great prices, solid selection of clothing for the family and excellent customer service. I’m a huge Amazon fan but if I go retail, Macy’s is my go to place.

I have never seen service sooo slow! These women at the register have no sense of urgency. Even when the line is extremely long!

Waited in line for 25 mins as a cashier opens up a credit card account. Only one register open while other clerks walk around and see the line grow. Not going to spend a 100 $ on a shirt to wait in line like I’m at Walmart.

Ornaments for Christmas are VERY NICE! However, since I have a cat and kid, $ 50 dollar ornaments from Poland are too expensive for me. I don’t want more broken ornaments, as some of them, and even nicer ones, have broke. Their other selection is good too.
Better than my nearby Gurnee location.

If I could change one thing about my wedding, the most MAGICAL experience of my life, it would be registering at Macy’s. It was a very disorganized experience. There were no registry consultants to show us around the store and familiarize us with different brands and products. Additionally, when we returned one of our gifts (originally purchased online), the buyer was automatically refunded, rather than us getting a gift card. This was a $ 350 value gift that we «lost», because Macy’s was not organized enough to send us a gift card of that value. Our bridal shower was now 3 months ago, and there has been NO progress in getting this corrected. After 6 phone calls to the registry customer service center, where I was promised every single time that my gift card will be mailed to me, this issue remains unresolved to date.

Macy’s, I am a big fan but why is it that all of a sudden your coupons that you send me thousands of, are no longer good on things I used to buy with them all the time? I used to use the coupons on the sports (Cubs, Blackhawks, Bears) clothing and now they tell me that is lid’s and cannot be used. I used to use coupons on Under Armour and Nike and now that doesn’t work. It no longer works on Ralph Lauren underwear and undershirts for my husband. Now they don’t work on the EDV (every day value) items. I don’t get it. I am a big fan of the store and give Macy’s all my business but I feel this is starting to slowly push me away and try to find items somewhere else. Please go back to the way things used to be.

I was at Macy’s looking for fall jackets. They had some clustered in a specific area, but others were scattered throughout the store in the brand-​specific areas.
I focused on one rack… it had a sign saying 15% off if you get a Macy’s card. Another rack had 15% off the tag price, but the tag said it was already 15% off. Is that with or without the Macy’s card?. Very confusing.
I looked at their website, it says nothing about the card, but you have to input a code (easy to find) to get the sale price.
Many racks had wrong size jackets on the hangars (which are marked S-​M-​L-​XL). Some racks had mixed brands and styles and they are overloaded. They are crowded together, you have to squeeze between some of them.
I walked away and went somewhere else.

If I hadn’t received such stellar customer service at the MAC counter and good service at the Clinique counter, this would be a one star review.
After the two makeup counters I went to look at shoes. Wandered around, picked things up, put them down. No associate approached me. It occurred to me I couldn’t even identify one. Okay… guess I’m not getting shoes then.
For all the counters the jewelry department there was one associate working… and she usually doesn’t work that department so she was at a disadvantage (staff your stores, people!). Still, she was patiently helping an indecisive customer with lots of questions when I walked up to wait my turn to buy a few pieces. She acknowledged me and twice more apologized for the wait (about 5 – 7 minutes). I told her it was fine.
Another woman got in line behind me, after which a second associate (thin female with white hair) came to the counter behind us and she pointedly asked the woman behind me if she needed help. She then proceeded to ring up that customer’s sale, completely ignoring me even though I was clearly there first. I put my selected items down on her counter and walked out without a word.
Perhaps I didn’t «look» like someone with money to spend, but I heard the other woman’s total and the merch I had selected was worth almost 10x that amount. Associates have sales goals. I could have helped her make hers that day had she not ignored me.

Great sales and wonderful service in most departments! I’ve bought most of my clothing, and purses from here. The sunglass hut inside also has great folks within it! My new Oakley’s are great. Glad I got a Macy’s card!!!
Impulse cosmetics is the one thing that prevents it from getting 5 stars. Two people working there, but one was unable to help customers with questions or even check customers out. Not sure what her function was. I waited 5 min before anyone came up to the checkout. When she finally made an appearance, I was told to wait since she wanted to ring someone else up?!? I think I will have to purchase my Cargo cosmetics elsewhere to avoid annoyance. That was today that I had this experience. Really need to get on top of this since most cosmetic brands have their own online stores offering a number of freebies to customers. Killer service can offset the freebies.

Wish I could give it zero stars. Took my wife there for her birthday shopping. She wanted to buy shoes. Found a few pairs that she liked but nobody would help her. There were a couple of macys associates around who kept on ignoring her. After twenty min of trying to grab someone’s attention she decided to give up and not buy any more shoes from macys ever again. She was pretty excited before going in but it was such a disappointing experience because of horrible customer service. Will definitely tell our friends to go elsewhere too for shopping.

Worst service in the shoe section! They don’t want to sell anything. They don’t have the courtesy to help anyone. I looked for someone for 20 minutes. Got hold of two people both turned around to help someone else. One person came back completely ignored me. Such a bad experience! Would rather go to nordstorm!

I love Macy’s period!!! 5 stars for selection, affordability/​value, helpful and always available service staff, great location, and every apparel you can think of.
Free parking and all the name brand items you’re looking for. 3 floors filled with complete selection major Macy’s stores carry!
The best part is their ONE DAY SALE that happens nearly every 2 weeks! You’re great Macy’s! Great sale!
Shop your face off

I have had numerous unpleasant experiences at this store. In short Macy’s in Woodfield is a dump! The store is in desperate need of a complete remodel — the fitting rooms are beyond disgusting with ripped carpet and mirrors that haven’t been replaced since the 80’s, the bathrooms are foul and the store itself is an unorganized mess. The presentation of the merchandise looks like a garage sale topped off with completely clueless salespeople (that is IF you can find one)! I have walked around and around and around looking for a single person working a cash register to take my money. Forget about help with anything – a size, style, question, etc– you could have died in the fitting room and no one would know.
Lastly, their coupons don’t work for the majority of the merchandise. I’m continually disappointed with this store. Bring back Marshall Fields!

I’m not entirely sure how I feel about Macy’s, especially this store. The selection is so hit or miss, as are prices and their endless sales (and size 3 font exclusions). Staff are just as hit or miss, which makes it a really blah experience. I’d rather buy online or elsewhere.

I like this Macy’s. It’s in the Woodfield Mall and they have a wider selection here as well. The people are friendly and sometime they would give back your discount coupon after your purchase for another day. I do wish that they would take the coupon for all brand labels that they sell here, like Northface.
They have some pretty good sales for clothes off their sales rack, but they need to get a bit more organized of the sizes… really it states an XL hanger and come to noticed the dress size was really a small… boo!
I also, wish they would sell more brand names like Addias clothing here.
I usually come here for some of my Christmas shopping and use my Macy’s card and coupons.
I’ll come back for the sales and to use my coupons to save a buck or two!
