I have visited many Public Storage facilities for a variety of reasons. This is one of the nicer ones. They have the new nicer core cylinder locks that are way easier to work with then traditional padlocks. Access is quick and easy off 90 and Roselle Road(just up the hill of hillcrest, limiting flood potential). The manager is very knowledgeable and friendly. I appreciated the light in the unit with a wall switch(rather then a string dangling in my eyes every time I moved). Hopefully the block construction will be improved shortly and snow fences installed in heavy winters, but snow removal seemed to work hard throughout this challenging winter. Worst part is they are listed as in village of Schaumburg, but most think of them as Hoffman Estates(‘Welcome to Hoffman Estates’ sign is 10 feet from property, so they are technically correct. It is just everyone around NW suburbs thinks of the whole street as Hoffman Estates on that side of Roselle RD).

Is it possible to think of public storage without first thinking of Silence of the Lambs? Cause that’s all I could think of on my first venture to view a public storage unit for some goods I needed off my hands. And secretly, I was hoping when the unit was opened that there’d be suspicious meat hooks or cornucopia of varied human teeth… at least a jar with a floating severed hand. But no. Just a plain Jane mundane empty-ass storage unit with a few leaves and cobwebs in the corners. It worked wonderfully for my purpose(storing sh*t), but lacking a bit of danger so without even thinking twice I killed a spider in cold blood to put the sweet scent of murder on the walls. There. NOW it was perfect. It was easy enough to understand all the policies and the fees seemed reasonable and Julie made wrapping everything up a breeze… plus, I got to ride in a golf cart!
