This place is ok, but I’ve been to been Mongolian style places(including other locations of this chain). The service was slow, and not cause there was a long line, they don’t seem to give a lot of meat with the bowls, and they seem to have a smaller selection of items to put in the bowl than other places. Also, they don’t have some of the extras that other places have — like some crazy good naan style bread and other extras.

Went for dinner around 5:30. Not quite full, empty tables but still waited 10 minutes. Clearly not enough help. As we were waiting I looked at the stir fry station. Gross. See picture. A server saw me take a picture and ran over to clean it up. The manager? Ugh. She was Oblivious. Sticky wings and potstickers good, server did keep refilling drinks. If the cleanliness matched the food, this would be 4 plus stars. Lazy ass management. See bathroom. Disgusting.

Several disappointments from a normal favorite of ours. We have always had a wonderful experience with the Stir Crazy in Northbrook Court, but this location was quite inferior. First, the place was empty, but they stuck us at a far corner table. There appeared to be one waiter for the entire restaurant, which caused him to be running all over, and caused lengthy delays in our service. The food was decent, But the counter around the stir fry area was messy. The other issue were the deplorable bathrooms. None of the stalls had a working lock in the women’s bathroom ! It was a hot mess. Probably won’t be going back anytime soon.

I really want to give a great review to this restaurant chain as I appreciate both the menu, food and the overall corporate philosophy of offering fresh and interesting food with some lighter fare options. However, the service is so hit or miss that I just can’t recommend it. My kids and I come here fairly regularly and we love the Tuna poke. The stir fry bar is quite good and most of what I have ordered off the menu I have enjoyed. However, the service has been so spotty and sometimes outright horrible that it’s difficult for us to go back and impossible for us to recommend to others. This is not a one time thing. This is a constant. I’m not sure how management has not been notified of the consistently poor front of the house experience. The last time I was there our server actually disappeared. I don’t mean he took a while, I mean we’re not sure where he went. We waited for 25 minutes for our bill and three of us had been served our entrée while my wife had not actually been served her meal! We were waiting for the check just so we could just get out of there. In the end, the manager wanted to argue with us when we came to the front to just pay our bill. However, he eventually saw how angry we were and comped the dinner. I gave it three stars because I believe in the concept and the execution in terms of the back of the house. But the front of the house is a disaster. This could be fixed but we are going to give it a break for a while.

My friend and I did not have a very good experience at Stir Crazy. We sat for 20 minutes to get our table, once there we ordered some appetizers, Edamame and Spring Rolls. They brought us the Edamame, but served our Spring Rolls to another table. When we got our bowls, we went over to select the items we wanted cooked, I decided to make a trip to the washroom while my friend went back to our booth. Next thing I know, she comes to tell me that we no longer had a place to sit. Come to find out that in the 5 minutes we were selecting our food, they cleared the table and sat another family in our spot. We went to the desk to tell them and they found another booth for us to sit in and the hostess went to get our food. They bring our bowls over for us to eat and mine was still raw, so she took it back to be cooked some more. The second time she brought the bowls back, it still had not been cooked thoroughly. Got to say, from this experience, I would not go back again, nor recommend anyone else go. 0 stars from me!

It was just ok, not great. nothing to ever return for. The service was especially poor, I tried several times asking the waiter a question only to have him turn his back and leave. The crab Rangoon are not worth the money, tiny for the price. The egg drop soup definitely did not look or taste like traditional egg drop. The grill was decent, although I would suggest the option of going up more than once for an upcharge.

Do not bother coming here unless you want very under cooked meat and an upset stomach almost instantly. So over priced and all you really get in return is nausea.

Honestly not sure why this place has only 3⁄5 stars, it’s one of my absolute favorite places to eat at. I come to the area from Long Island, NY for work a few times a year and eating here is one of my top priorities. The food is great, tons of options for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, and people who eat anything. It’s a cute place, cheap, staff is very nice, and their ginger ale is. I probably could eat here every night, and I almost do when I’m in the area.

This was my first time at stir crazy woodfield location. What’s funny is that I didn’t even get to eat here. When we finally got seated after a long wait, we waited another five minutes and our server never came(Usually when the hostess seats you at your table he/she mentions who your server is). As a result of the absence and not knowing who to wait for, we just got up and walked out the door. On top of that, there was grains of rice in my menu, on my seat, and all over the ground. I usually don’t mind small messes, but I then noticed trash/dust clumps in the corners and walls where I was faced… that ruined my appetite as well. I’ve been to other locations that were way cleaner and better service. It’s a shame.

Waiter was friendly but the cooks behind the counter werent. Good healthy option if you are looking for simple chicken and veggies. Nice atmosphere but slow service and not so great service. Our waiter was the only friendly staff member for the most part

I can’t understand what people are talking about. I gave this place 3 chances, today was the last time! The only good thing here is the shrimp NOTHINGELSE! First off the waiter was nice but he asked all 3 of us, «Is this your first time here?» One of 3 people answered yes the other two said no, his reply was«Ok, so what can I get you?» Lol aren’t you going to give the other 2 an introduction?! Here comes the bad part, my buddy and I ordered the Mongolian beef, We asked for it to be very spicy he said no problem, my friends wife ordered the salmon dish. Long story short neither beef was spicy and there was barely any beef, I was livid at this point! We got home and if all that wasn’t bad enough we paid over $ 70(not inc our tip) and now we’re all not feeling well. Neither one of us will return to this place. Keep in mind you get more food and better food at P. F Changs in the same mall!

I ate the mango habanero chicken because I was starving. That being said it was cold and too sweet. Definitely needed some more spice to balance out the palate. Not worth your $ 15, not for this dish anyways. Green dragon tea came in a dirty kettle yet tasted good.

I have dined here many times over the years but have never done a review. Today is Mothers Day and this is where my wife wanted to come for dinner so it’s time for my review. First, let me say I have NEVER enjoyed the create my own wok dinner. I just could never get the ingredients and sauces to jive. However, I do like their Chef’s Creations! I tried a new one tonight, the Thai Jumping Chicken. It was delicious and less than 600 calories! My wife and kids like it here so we will be back again.

Had a family lunch there on a Sunday. Our waitress was very nice and always made sure we had what we needed. I had the Thai BBQ Tacos which were so good. Everyone there enjoyed their meals. A little pricey but very good.

It was so so. Maybe it was my fault, but my build your own bowl was bland. However, judging by the other comments, it seems to be a weakness of this restaurant. My theory is that they douse it with so much oil during the cooking that it dilutes the sauce. They need to add more sauce to counter this. My fiancé really drilled the waiter, whom was caught chatting up front while our dinner was waiting to be served. Hers wasn’t nearly as warm as mine. He gave us our dessert free(banana wontons are delicious) and handled the situation pretty well for someone having to handle my cranky woman. LOL Overall, I wasn’t really a fan. If it wasn’t for the free dessert and a $ 5 off coupon on top of that, I would have felt ripped off.

Been here several times including tonight as we like their veggy fried rice. Prices are pretty good and on Tuesday’s & Thursday’s kids eat free. Not a lot of extra frills here, just decent, dependable food.

I’ve eaten here 3 times in the past 2 months. I love that you can mix your own veggies, sauce, give it to the cook to prepare and then get a huge meal for not much $$. The lunch menus are between 9.99 and 12.99 $ I think and you get a huge portion. Service was always good. Not too much not too little. It would be nice if they had the soy sauces and spicy sauces on the table rather than having to request them but apart from that I think it’s a very good place for lunch where you can be in and out within 45min if you want and still get a freshly prepared balanced meal at a good price. With the check you get fortune cookies which is a nice touch. My last one didn’t have a message though… wonder what that means *

This Stir Crazy is alright, but the service is a little meh. We came in on Tuesday(or maybe Wednesday?) for dinner and even though the restaurant was pretty empty, we were seated in a far corner. Our server was alright, but indicated to us that we had to wait for our build your own stir-fry rather than her bringing it to the table when it was ready. I always thought that if you *wanted* to wait, you could, but that you didn’t *have to.* I don’t like this because 1) this is not a self-service restaurant. 2) I don’t want to carry my purse through the veggie bar line and 3) I don’t want to leave my purse at the table unattended while I’m waiting for my food to be cooked. It was alright, but its still no FlatTop. And yes, I know they are owned by the same company.

Stir Crazy is always good for a quick, delicious meal. We were seated right away, and my wife and I got to talking. Before we knew it 15 minutes had gone by and no one even acknowledged we were there. Just then, the manager noticed us and asked if we’d been helped yet. When we said no, she got an angry look on her face apologized and walked off. Within a minute our waiter came by apologizing up a storm. He said he felt so badly he wanted to buy us Strawberry Lemonades. Sure, why not. From that point on his service was spectacular. Very attentive; very energetic. We both got stir fry, although they do have a pretty wide variety of other foods on their menu. If you have not been to Stir Crazy before, they differ from Mongolian Barbecue joints as(1) it is not all you can eat and(2) you select your vegetables and sauces, but they add the meat or tofu. So, if you want a meat heavy stir fry, you are not going to get one here. But, I will say the vegetables were all fresh and tasty. Of course, to go to this Stir Crazy restaurant, you need to go to Woodfield Mall. It is located over by Sears right at the entrance. But, even if you don’t go into Woodfield, parking and pushing through the crowds by the door is never fun.
