Amazing sushi, and the drinks were phenomenal! Watermelon Martini was a must-​have according to my wife, and I enjoyed the Manhattan. Great staff and atmosphere. Great dinner out in Schenectady!

Excellent food, excellent service! Everyone must go… this place is a perfect fit for pretty much any occasion.

I have worked my way through the menu, and haven’t found anything I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed. Everything is fresh and bright. The bang bang shrimp is 2 thumbs up– only cause I only have 2 –the Tai wrap and the sushi bombs are pretty awesome appetizers as well. As for the entrées, they are always stunningly plated. The presentations are beautiful. I recommend giving them a try

I have been to Ninja Sushi several times and enjoyed it every time. The sushi is excellent and it’s also a great place if you want somewhere to go and have a drink at the bar (last time I went I asked the bartender for a Manhattan and it was the best I’ve had in a while). The atmosphere is really great and good for many occasions, whether it be for happy hour after work or to bring some one on a date. It’s nice to have somewhere different to go in Schenectady other than the typical bar or pub.

If I would have done a review after the first time going I would have given it 4 – 5 stars, the food was amazing, the restaurant was clean and the décor is unique. I raved about it to friends so we decided to go again as a double date. Given we both had the Doubletake coupons and we specifically asked in the beginning about separate tables knowing that you can’t use it at the same table. The host who later was our waiter said «it would be no problem with the coupons being together.» He literally slide 2 tables that were 6 inches apart together for my party. For a Friday night there was maybe 3 tables in there so there was room to have separate tables. After eating, and each couple spending well over the coupon amount it was then told to us that they couldn’t use both coupons. This is where the 1 star comes in. NEVER in my life have I dealt with a «manager» like I did here. She asked if «we could read» was very sarcastic and NOT management material. She also wanted to know why it wasn’t «cleared» through her, how am I supposed to know that she is «management,» she never came over to check or introduce herself, and as a newer establishment management SHOULD be going around to ALL the tables, especially when there was only 3 in there! I have over 10 years restaurant experience along with my boyfriend and our friends that we went with combined we have more experience including management and so displeased with the way this place is being managed. It is a shame because the food is actually pretty amazing, I would say top 3 of the sushi places in the area, but we will NOT be coming back, and again it’s too bad because our table spent over $ 150 on sushi and we frequently eat out. Good luck trying to keep running with a «manager» like that!

I really enjoyed the food and good service. This is the Asian Fusion brother to Mr. Wasabi. I found out about by word of mouth as well as the Daily Gazette review. A must try place for lunch, dinner, or before a show.

I am only giving this place 3 stars because the management was very nice. If the manager did not try an make up for the lack of service it would get only 2 stars. The tables are very close together. There is no privacy at dinner. The next group of people are sitting right next to you. The place was very clean and updated. The bar looked very nice. I got a watermelon martini. Tasted like lime juice and another martini that was very fruity. Neither were very good. They had a large table of people that night. The place was not very full. The kitchen was over whelmed and we ended up being there a very long time. Our salads and dinners did not come out together. First my husband’s salad. Then mine 10 mins later. This continued with all the dishes. The sushi was fair. Not the best I have had. With three other very good restaurants very much like this one very close by, it will be very unlikely that we will go back here.

Amazing place and service! I came in for their maki lunch special w 2 sushi rolls. i was pleasantly taken by surprise at the quality of their sushi and shrimp tempura – I’ve grown up on the west coast and I’ve traveled to Japan, so I can strongly affirm that the food here will not disappoint you (as have most Japanese fusion places in central NY)! Would definitely come back again soon :)

Very nice addition to the downtown Schenectady restaurant district. For those underwhelmed by the few other Asian Fusion options around here, Ninja is here to save the day!
They are focused on quality ingredients here, and sushi is as fresh as you could hope for (which is hard to find in the capital district, generally). Presentation is great (our food lit up!), and ambience is nice.
Started right with miso soup, which was rich and delicious (compared to watered-​down miso found most other places). Then had the bang bang shrimp, which was awesome! Also had garlic Bok choy, loved it. Then we had sushi, very fresh and flavorful, not bland like others.
Highly recommended!
