Simon’s Men’s Wear

This store can go head to head with any other men’s store, easily (ahem, NYC I’m talking about you). If you are a male visiting the area, particularly if you are from NYC make time to visit this store and after you see all the money you will save thank me later! My husband truly hates to shop; when he wants to look amazing — this is where he shops. I don’t know what happened to the reviewer from 3 yrs ago but, that was not our experience. My husband, with the help of the store staff, has suits that he looks for reasons to wear. They also picked out summer attire which was great for the Saratoga Racing Season. This store gets it — they know that having the right clothes makes it so much easier to be spontaneous and go out and have fun.
For me, my experience with Simon/​s Men’s Wear is quite amusing. I once had a very important court case, I choose my lawyer because he had an amazing suit on. I asked him where he bought it…
Lastly, they have a loyalty program where you don’t have to give over all your personal data to belong.

I’ve heard that there used to be an extremely knowledgeable older man that worked in the store, but he was no where to be found. When I went to Simon’s, there was a woman who tried to get me to buy a microfiber sport coat, and when I asked for a more classic type of jacket, she directed me to styles with egregious amounts of shoulder padding, claiming that the padding is necessary for the construction of the suit (it’s not). The selection is awful, and the staff with whom I spoke had a mediocre knowledge of suit fits (slightly better than Men’s Wearhouse, but not enough to get them two stars).
There’s not many good places to buy a suit around here, but I’d say you’re better off going to Macy’s or JCrew if you must shop around here. If you’re willing to spend a bit more, check out

Forget the mall and chain stores. If you are looking for a suit or jacket go to Simon’s. Great service, knowledgeable staff with the latest in fashions. Don’t be worried when you walk in and you don’t see racks upon racks of suits. These guys carry basic stock so that you can try on a suit and then have it custom sized to your body. Instead of fitting you to the suit they fit the suit to you.
