Very fresh food! You can tell all the food is prepared with real quality ingredients and that’s important to me. I hate when I go out to eat and think«I’ve got better stuff at home». Not the case with Tesoro’s. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend the eggs Benedict, the home fries are like nothing I’ve ever eaten before! Also the sandwiches look fantastic with nice bread.

the only item this review is for is the smoothies. they’re delicious. you can tell they use real fruit and it’s not overly sweet. price wise, it’s reasonable at only $ 4 for a good size cup. taking a star away because of their odd hours and the fact that i’ve only had the smoothies.

Tuesday lunch was delish. I ate Eggs Benedict w/smoked salmon instead of ham. Egg was cooked exactly as I asked. My companion ordered a crêpe and it was a delight. Espresso topped it all off nicely.

Food is quite good. I really liked it and I’m picky. Atmosphere is VERY casual. Staff are friendly and courteous, albeit a tad slow because they were busy.

We have dinner here once a week always opting for the Pollo Guisado and Ropa Vieja. It’s consistently delightful, fresh avacado, plentiful rice and beans on the side and the star proteins(chicken and beef) are tender and flavorful. The plantains are a nice treat, too. For desert try a crêpe, freshly prepared with flavorful ripe and seasonal produce, light frothy whipped cream: our favorite is the Nutella with strawberry and banana. Tip: Bring your own bottle of wine, for $ 5.00 uncorking fee, it is a nice accompanyment with dinner. Affordable, authentic cuban and columbian dishes. EXCELLENT customer servicd. The kitchen renovations will only make this place more efficient, it’s hard to improve upon greatness. With construction complete as of October 2015, the only thing missing is YOU!

Just ok. Went here for brunch with a group of friends. The breakfast sandwiches looked good and the buffet looked interesting with crepes and plantains, but I ordered a veggie frittata and it was lacking any flavor.

People love this place. So the choices are that either a) I ordered wrong, or b) it’s just not for me. For a long time, I thought that this Schenectady café was a smaller satellite location for Tesoro’s Italian restaurant in Guilderland. It turns out the apostrophe makes a world of difference. The two businesses are not related, and in fact this upper union street café is a combination creperie and Latin restaurant. When I got there on Sunday morning, they were getting the brunch buffet set up. I’m not much into buffets so that didn’t interest me. I also think that it’s a terrible way of judging the food a restaurant makes. I’d rather have them produce something hot out of the kitchen, made just for me. The one dish that stood out on the menu as being at the nexus of Tesoros specialties was the pernil crêpe. It was disappointing on many fronts. The crêpe was cool to the touch, even though the owner later confirmed that it was made to order. The middle of the crêpe was warmed by the pork filling, but the filling itself was neither hot enough to melt the bland swiss cheese inside nor wilt the baby spinach in the crêpe. The mushroom onion gravy muted any adobo flavor the pernil may have once had, and turned the pork into a mushy mess. I pushed my way through half of it. Asking for a salt shaker helped to perk up my last few bites. And when the owner came over to ask what I thought of the dish, I gave her my honest impressions. She graciously took it away, offered me free access to the buffet, and took the coffee off my bill. She cared. And she tried to do the right thing, which is what bumps this experience up to three stars. My only regret is not peeking over at the buffet to try something Tesoros might do better than the pernil crêpe. But the reality of the situation was that after pushing myself through half of my brunch, I just had no more appetite. One of these days I’ll return, and I’m hopeful that my next visit is more successful.

The empanadas were great, coffee excellent, and crêpe was delicious. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant. The only negatives were extremely slow service and my rosemary chicken soup lacked any flavor at all. These two things kept me from giving five stars. I will be back, but will make sure to clear my afternoon since service is at a crawl. I am updating my review based on the Sunday brunch. Great service this time, excellent food!!! Will be back on Sunday again!

Tesoro’s is hands down my favorite breakfast or lunch spot. They have a great selection of crepes, and the coffee is to die for. Plus, you can’t beat the cozy atmosphere! Dinner is amazing, too! And you have to go for salsa dancing!!! Such a great experience!

Best crepes in the area! Hands down! I became a crêpe fan after traveling to France for a semester, I have to say Tesoro makes exceptionally crepes. Just enough choices for savory and sweet crepes on the menu!!! I highly recommend this low key café to everyone!

After looking at some of the reviews, I decided to give this place a try. All in all, considering the cost, for breakfast it was not that great. I had the spinach and feta crêpe, the cranberries in it appeared to be chilled canned cranberry sauce that had been cut into chunks. Way too much goat cheese. My wife had the huevos rancheros crêpe, but it was more like an omelette with no seasoning. They forgot to add the salsa, which they brought when requested, and it looked/tasted straight out of a store bought jar. My mom had the bananas and strawberries crêpe, which looked very simple considering the description. The fruit was also cold and in odd large chunks, just didn’t taste great. On top of all this, trying to read the menu online is a nightmare. In any format, it’s 12 pages and seemingly in no particular order. Just, won’t be coming back. Sorry guys, we gave it a shot.

4 stars instead of 5 because we only had coffee and truffles and thus I cannot evaluate their food overall. BUT they have almond milk(one of my key coffee house criteria!), a small and lovely patio, and were incredibly kind and welcoming to me and my parents earlier today. The next time I am in Schenectady, I will prioritize a return visit.

I love a tasty crêpe. And Tesoro’s has got em. Fresh berries, frothy whipped cream, a dulce de leche spread and raspberry drizzle made an unregrettable, amazingly sweet midday meal. The friends I was with ordered a cuban dish called«Ropa Vieja,» a saucy, spicy shredded meat dish. I didn’t taste it but I’ve got to say it looked amazing. And they didn’t skimp on the avocado. Large portions, thank goodness for value. I heard much mention of their rice and beans. I can’t wait to go back and try these savory options. I also been wanting to try Divinitea(which is next door to this café) but also served here. Yay for small businesses supporting each other. I have to mention the hospitality at this café is wonderful. I had to send back a drink because I thought it was very watered down. The lady was very understanding, brought me another drink and even sat down with our group to have a nice chat.

I love this place! The crêpes are great! The Spanish food is good as well. While I would love bigger tables it’s a great place for a 1st date 2nd or 3rd. The owner is just so sweet!

Pro: Delicious cubano on panini, tasty chorizo and friendly wait staff in an appealing and comfortable atmosphere. Muy rico Con: Slow kitchen(although tasty food) and stronger ventilation system needed to keep kitchen odors from dining area. Otherwise would give a higher star rating! We’ll be back for a second visit!

Perfect café/modern coffee shop atmosphere. Very stylish yet cozy. Extensive menu! Sunday brunch in a must… we tried out a few crepes, all delicious. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Gloria provided fantastic service despite there being numerous customers.

Went for breakfast today. Ordered huevos rancheros with Canadian bacon. What I got was a very small portion of scrambled eggs with peppers in them and regular bacon. No tortillas, no beans, no avocado or anything. And I love regular bacon, but this bacon was extremely thin, burnt to a crisp and didn’t taste good at all. Seems like you would have to try pretty hard to make bacon not worth eating. However, my wife ordered a crêpe and she loved it. Looked very good. Good coffee. Place seems nice and would probably go back to try lunch, but won’t get«huevos rancheros» again.

Groovy aesthetic atmosphere. Lounge chairs and couches to enjoy the smooth jazz playing over the speakers. Menu is an eclectic group of sandwiches and exotic dishes. They have an enormous selection of teas and coffees that inspire even a novice such as myself. Wait staff include the owner. Very friendly and personable. Great place I will definitely visit again.
