Union Pizza

Union Pizza is good everytime. It’s simple pizza, in a good way — with an even ratio of cheese to dough to sauce, everything about it is super tasty. Highly recommend if you need a quick pizza fill or are just craving some delicious pie.

I attended a surprise birthday party for a buddy of mine last weekend. Part of the spread at the party was a selection of pizzas from Union Pizza. I had, at that point, had a couple of beverages, so I thought it may have been the Guinneses talking, but I absolutely LOVED the pizza. I told myself that I’d give Union a try the next time my family and I had a hankering.
I won’t say that my family is in a pizza rut, but we’ve definitely got our go-​to spots for take-​out. Paesan’s is the kids’ favorite, but my wife and I aren’t the biggest fans. Their crust tends to be a little too thick for our tastes. Ciao Italia, which is right down the road from us, offers a more traditional NY-​style thin crust, and though I prefer them to Paesan’s, the kids don’t like it as much.
Enter Union Pizza.
I called ahead to order our take-​out. I decided to splurge on this particular Friday, and I got each of my three kids their OWN small, six-​cut pizza (they can never agree on toppings, and they like to have leftovers the following day). My wife and I split a medium meat lover’s. We also got an order of boneless wings (medium) and an order of cheese sticks (two for me, one for everyone else!!).
I was told that my order would be ready in about 35 minutes. Having never been there before, I gave myself a little bit of extra time to get lost, but thanks to modern technology, I arrived right on time, and was pleased by the size of their parking lot. There were probably 6 or 7 spots. I do believe they’re focused on delivery and take-​out, though. If you’re by yourself, and just stopping in for a quick slice, go for it. But it’s a really small place. A few tables, but a lot in the way of elbow room or ambience. It’s definitely got a ‘hole-​in-​the-​wall’ vibe, which may sound like a knock, but is actually A-​OK in my book.
Anyway, I arrived right as they were taking the last of my pizzas out of the oven. Yay! I was greeted by a friendly young employee. For all of the food we ordered, the price was right (about $ 55 total).
I got home and found that my slightly hazy recollection of their pizza wasn’t as impaired as I’d feared. Union’s crust is IDEAL. Not cardboard, not flimsy. Damn-​near perfect.
Everything was delicious, and everyone was happy.
This won’t be the last time we get pizza from Union. In fact, despite having to drive a little bit farther to get there, they’ve pretty much jumped to the top of our «Pizza Night» list.

This is my go to place for pizza.

Tonight different from the past. It is dry and flavorless. I called to explain we are disappointed and why and that we have been ordering there for 9 yrs. The guy didn’t care. He insisted it could be no different than ever before blah blah. Rude and just wanted to get off the phone. So unfortunate! 1 star pizza but 0 star customer service.

Great pizza! I always look forward to my tasty cheese pizza when visiting family. Will go there again and again. The price is right and the staff are friendly.

The best pizza! Whenever we visit we have stop for a 24 cut pizza. The best! Top quality cheese and pepperoni. The crust not too thin or thick, with the right amount of crisp.

I have been coming here since high school days, let me tell ya their pizza never lost any flavor! They have an online menu and specials. The 8 cut with wings and 2 liter soda is my usual choice. There is parking on the size of the building be careful tho that fork intersection can be a bit tricky.

Best pizza and wings in the area. Hands down! Always hot and crispy. Place is very busy so you know its fresh!

This place has really good pizza, just wish it was open on Sunday, but I guess I can deal with it. We’ve had their wings a couple of times too and they’re pretty good also, just not as good as their pizza. Pick it up if you can because they can really get backed up on deliveries but that just means it’s good.

Good pizza very quick! A great place for a quick dinner on a rainy night or something to safe you from slaving away in the kitchen.

You can’t get better pizza then this

Updating and upgrading our previous review from one star to a weak three after having finally nailed a couple of visits after a poor initial experience that turned us away (see previous review). This is a high volume take out and delivery joint, with just three small tables inside (two picnic tables outside) and zero ambiance. The customer service is a bit brusque, and the pizza is what we call «ANSI Standard», acceptable but utterly unremarkable Neapolitain-​style «Greek-​style» crust. The subs and appetizers are pretty standard and also in that «OK» range. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back to it but it’s one of the standard-​style shops you find four or six of near college campuses (the Union is for Union College, no doubt, since this isn’t near Union Street) so it will get you a relatively cheap ($ 9.50 for an 8-​cut) cheese-​heavy pie relatively quickly.
My three-​star category is very broad and encompasses everything I would go back to (two stars is I really really wouldn’t choose to go back, four stars is I’d go out of my way to go back) but, as noted, this is a mildly tepid rating within our that three-​star tier.

A solid little pizza place, albeit a bit out of my way. Regardless, it’s different from the pizza you tend to find in this area. It actually reminds me quite a bit of the Mechanicville House of Pizza, which is a good thing.
There is room inside the shop to eat, but it’s very small. They only have a couple of tables. If you’re going around lunch time, you might have difficulty finding a place to sit so be prepared to take your pizza on the road.
The family that runs this place is a cool and friendly bunch of people. If you’re in the area and you’ve never eaten at Union Pizza before, I’d recommend giving it a try.

Good chicken parm subs and the pizza is good as well. It is better for take out. The restaurant has just a few small tables inside and a couple of benches outside for warm weather dining. These are located on a busy street.
