Tacos Locos

I wasn’t expecting to like this place so much. I’m usually really picky about my tacos but the shrimp taco was awesome! You should definitely try them!

The best tacos I’ve ever had. I got their specialty taco or whatever and it was amazing. Beyond expectations for sure. Who knew that such a Mexican place would exist in this random part of Illinois. Two thumbs up

Been driving by this place for years, and had always wanted to try it. Quite possibly the worst «steak» tacos I have ever had in my life. Dry as heck, the meat was tasteless, tough and loaded with gristle, and basically inedible. I will never go back in here.

Very reasonably priced Mexican food. Great tasting chicken, beef, and streak tacos. Staff has always been friendly when ordering to-​go or sat down eating.

Incredibly rude. Every website I checked sayes they are open until 10 pm. Awesome show up with a group of family and friends and I was told and I qoute. «Hurry up and order in line we close at 4 pm.» So instead of being open till the correct time they decided to close early and make their customers rush around becuase they want to close at 4 pm. Obviously the customer doesn’t matter at this place.

I’m sure their food is great. I wish I could say from experience. There were 10 of us who walked in at 3:10 pm, eager to give them our business. A worker rudely told us we better hurry up because they close at 4. (Not exactly sure where it said they were closing at 4. But apparently, that’s what they decided.) So we left. Here’s a small hint: several people have commented on your lack of customer service, which means that obviously customer service is important, and you’re not hitting your mark. If you don’t learn how to soon, you’ll go out of business really quickly.

Oh Tacos Locos, so much potential, but just falls short in customer service. First, let me say that their «Taco Locos» steak tacos are AMAZING. They use whole pieces of steak with avocado, grilled onions, and sour cream, freshly grilled and made to order, with a grilled jalapeño on the side and stuff it in a teeny tiny taco tortilla (default is corn, but your choice to change to flour). Ok, so if their tacos are so great, why only 2 stars? So it goes downhill from there. Their tacos are very small. While I usually eat 2 tacos elsewhere, I have to order 3 here. While the price isn’t much, it technically cost me a lot more than other taco places because I have to order more. Another problem is the customer service. Every time I order, I am missing something. Sometimes there’s no grilled onions. Sometimes there’s no grilled jalapeño. Then when I ask for things like mild salsa or limes, sometimes I get it, sometimes I don’t. The most recent time, I asked the waitress taking my payment if I can get limes. «Sure,» she responded. Then no limes. The guy (I think the owner or manager) said that I should have asked him. Um, how would I know that when the waitress said «sure» it actually meant «sure, but i’m not going to get it though.» If I didn’t feel so unwanted at this restaurant, I would probably stop in once a week (as I work literally 2 minutes away). But because I hate actually going here, I only stop in maybe a handful of times per year. So basically I could have been spending 10x’s more (50 visits per year versus the 5 now) if they were just nicer and more helpful. They remind me of the «Soup Nazi» on Seinfeld — if you don’t order just right then «No soup for you!!». If you don’t mind the service, the food is 4 – 5 stars.

Rarely do I take the time to leave negative feedback about an establishment. I believe that the best feedback for a negative experience is to stop frequenting their business. However… I actually had to download the Unilocal app to leave a review for this place.
I came for lunch yesterday afternoon and it was pretty busy. I was seated and noticed that the Maury show was on the tv. Red flag. As I sat there for 10 mins waiting for the waitress to take my order, they changed the channel to Fox News. Red flag #2. Something didn’t feel right. It felt kinda «Preferred Customer Specific» in there, if you know what I mean. The waitress was very… non-​welcoming to me and only came to my table to take my order and leave the check.
The food was average, but the service was terrible. I came back today to get 2 chicken tacos & some chips n salsa to go– just to give them another chance. Eveyone is entitled to a bad day. Nope– this is just business as usual there. There was a different waitress working, and she didn’t greet me. She finished 3 other things before she took my order, and I waited for 20 mins for my order. 4 other people came in and were both greeted, and received their orders before me. When my order was finally ready, she just placed it on the counter and said «here you go.»
So yeah… I will never be going back or recommending this place again.

Everytime I have been here I have been nothing but satisfied if you are in the area and looking for authentic Mexican food go to Tacos Locos!

Please do not eat here. Went the other night — and was sick all night and into the next morning. There was a sticker — yes a sticker — in the middle of my enchiladas. Gross. They never brought out all of our food. The guac was really small and overpriced. Actually, for the portions, all the food was overpriced. The meat tasted really «off» which explains my stomach problems for the 12 hours after eating here. Oh, and to top it off, they were very rude. Not going back. Not a single person at the table liked their dinners. Bad.

Great place to stop and grab tacos! Small and quaint. Beautiful décor on the walls great customer service and great food!

In general, the food is just ok, but I swear this place has some of best mini chimichangas I’ve ever had. Deep fried, mini burrito goodness. It’s like heaven in your mouth. Juicy and tasty.

We visited this place on the first day of arrival at Chicago. Very closed to airport and where we stayed !

Really really good! Came here on a whim on the way to Muvico in Rosemont & it was totally worth it. The chips and salsa were served warm and really fresh. We had steak tacos and tortas, both were equally as tasty. I can tell the torta bread and tortillas were of über freshness and steak had a lot of flavor. Even though the waitress heard my order wrong and bright me ground beef tacos instead of steak initially, she was kind and people make mistakes– definitely will be returning customers!

Just had lunch here per a coworkers recommendations. Needless to say, not all that impressed.
Small quant taco shop, minimal space for seating. We sat ourselves, server was very polite and came over quickly. I ordered the chicken taco loco and steak taco loco. My steak taco only had 3 small pieces of steak, and the chicken was a bit scarce too… The tacos had sour cream and a avocado slice… Tasty. The sour cream was a bit overbearing so I scraped it off. The tacos were overall just mediocre, the salsa was good. Won’t be returning.

Wow! Best food for the dollar I’ve had in a while — and very tasty favors (which is uncommon for a Mexican restaurant)
Fresh ingredients, great service, what else could you ask for?

My husband and I came here for lunch on a late Wednesday afternoon. Tacos Locos is a small restaurant. There are probably 10 tables inside for you to sit. The kitchen is right there, so you can see the cooks make the food. They gave free chips and salsa to start. I enjoyed the crispiness of the chips and there were two types of salsa — green and red. I enjoyed both. both were a good spice! I had the steak burrito which I really enjoyed. I was also craving it. There were some steak fats in the burrito, but overall it was pretty tasty. My husband felt that there was too much sour cream in it though. He had 3 types of tacos. He thought they were okay. He also started with their chicken and vegetable soup which was good.
Prices are pretty cheap — we like it here! It’s a very casual place — you eat, pay, and go!

I’m a local so when I want Mexican food fast Tacos Locos is in the perfect spot. Easily accessible, plenty of parking and never too busy. However, every single time I go there the food sucks.
I mean, do they actually taste their product and say, «wow this is a hit «. I have given them plenty of chances but they are consistently bad. Rice is never warm and tastes stale a few of them hardened as if they’ve been recooked throughout the week, beans are watery and taste canned. But the worst offense of them all is their steak/​carne asada.
Of course you wouldn’t notice that there is hardly any actual carne in your tacos since they come offensively covered in cilantro and onions but if you remove half of that you will see that most of the carne is actually nerves. This is not my first time observing this. I’ve ordered tacos plenty of times from here, this is a pattern.
If you are really hungry and end up here, the safest bet is to just order the black bean soup which is halfway decent.

Decent food, but for my taste it might have be a bit seasoned. Very good beans and rice. Tacos a little dry, peppers extremely hot.
First time I tried the milky dring to cool the peepers off. Indians have their natural yogurt whereas mexicans have this water. Very nice and really cools of the fire in the mouth.
Very good soup based on beans and meet. Similar to one of the polish dishes based on beans :-)
