Nestled in a busy strip mall along Irving, right near Subway & Dairy Queen is a little storefront restaurant that has awesome Mexican food. When I used to work in Schiller Park, this was my weekly lunch place before I discovered Frannies. Still, it continues to hold its own. When you come in, you see it is pretty clean and spacious. You can order at the counter or sit down to be served. There’s a jukebox with all kinds of Mexican music to choose from. You can also pick your beverage of choice in a refrigerator containing various Mexican drinks such as Jarritos and San Gria. Every table gets a nice bowl of freshly fried tortilla chips and a little bowl of salsa that is so flavorful and loaded with cilantro, you wish it was bigger. Save some salsa for the main course. I’m a big steak burrito fan and my wife likes the chile relleno. You can also wire money to Mexico if you are inclined to do it here.
