With our brand new SCMWA passports in our hands, we drove to Bruzzone as our first stop. The rain couldn’t keep us away from drinking. As an avid Unilocaler, I have to say I was a bit concerned by the previous 2 start review of Bruzzone. Luckily, Bruzzone turned out to be the best experience out of the day. Mike, a retired firefighter, poured our wines(6 of them). To be fair, I am not a huge fan of white wines(especially not Chardonnay, which Bruzzone specializes in), but I loved the set-up in the tasting room and I enjoyed how homey and down to earth it was. There were snacks(amazing Parmesan with honey, veggie fries, homegrown avocados) available to pair with the wines and some of the farm’s produce was available for purchase. I picked out a few lemons, avocados, and wines and was ready to pay for them along with our wines but the lovely ladies told us to just take the fruits for free. Now that’s a great down-to-earth experience.

Came here for the SCMWA Roots that Rock Vintner’s Festival. The customer service was friendly, but unfortunately they were only pouring 3 wines, & none of them were very good. Most notably, their chardonnay was very dry & «salty» tasting, which was not good after a long day of wine tasting. We ended up not using all of our tickets. The tasting takes place in the garage of the family residence, which was remodeled to include a tasting bar. I do appreciate family owned businesses, but the ambiance here was nothing to get excited about. The one good thing they did have was Bacon avocados for sale that were picked that morning from a nearby tree! Milder in taste than a Haas & delicious.
