This is one of the wineries that’s tucked away off a curvy road in the SAnta Cruz Mountains. I came here as a part of my journey for passport day., Given that they are not usually open to the public, I figured I need to check them out. They are a producer that produces Pinot Noir wines. The best wine that I had was their 2008 Pinot, however the other offerings in the flight were fairly decent. That said, their wines are decently pricey at around $ 50 a bottle. That said, the staff are friendly and the wine isn’t bad, so it’s definitely a winery that I might pick up a few bottles from in the future.

Wish I could give this place 3.7 stars. Enjoyed a few tastings at this winery during Passport Santa Cruz. I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth their red wines taste. Super yummy wine and worth the drive. The ride up to the tasting room is extremely curvy and much like a carnival ride. Definitely take precautions if you get car sick. The tree top view is beautiful! Picture perfect! If you’re an Alfred Hitchcock fan, it’s sorta neat to visit this property that he once owned. If you like to have cheese and crackers with your wine, you’ll have to bring your own. Considering this was a Passport Santa Cruz tasting I was disappointed that they didn’t have any edible goodies out. Their was a tiny tray of cheese, but it was 90+ degrees out and cheese looked like it had better days. Overall— worth checking out!

I bought the Facebook deal for today’s event and I’m so glad that I did! There were 4 of us and we all agreed that their pinot noir is the best that we’ve tasted recently. Our favorites were the blend and the triple seven, but the rest of the samples were all delicious! Bob Brassfield was there and was very hospitable and so was Cindy. We brought a picnic basket and enjoyed the sunshine and the wine. Thank you for a wonderful day! Hope to visit you again soon and can’t wait to open our bottle of triple 7!

We went to Scotts Valley Art & Wine Festival. Heart O’ The Mountain Winery was one of the wineries pouring today. Usually not a Pinot Noir fan, but I’ll try it. And I’m glad that I did. We tried the 2007 release, and it was very tasty. Smooth with full flavor. The owner was there at this event and he was so kind, helpful, and full of insight to his wines. He invited on up as though inviting us to a casual BBQ. Can’t wait to go. We do the Passport Event and already had it stamped when they were at Michael’s On Main, but he said that they’d stamp it again. There is a shuttle to the winery when it’s open — so be sure to check ahead of time if you’re wanting to visit.

OMG — what AMAZING Pinot Noir! Don’t blink or you may miss this winery — they are super small and don’t have a regular tasting room, but on occasion(passport days ) they open their GEORGEOUS winery to the public for tasting. And get this — the winery is at an estate that used to be Alfred Hitchcock’s place! There is a shuttle to the winery when it’s open — so be sure to check ahead of time if you’re wanting to visit. Make sure you plan in your budget to buy some of their wine. Totally worth it.
