I have only ordered the 5lb. California Burrito here for me and my boyfriend, so I cannot speak for any other menu items. Maybe someday we will order something other than this 5 pound burrito but I’m not sure it can get any better than this. The 5 lb. California Burrito with carnitas is all you need to get. The carnitas are tender, there is rice and beans and other yumminess that BELONGS in a burrito. Also FRENCHFRIES are in this burrito! I did not think a burrito would ever need french fries until this burrito. This 5lb burrito will feed you and your hungry boyfriend for like two days. It is huge and yummy and tastes good, also when you reheat it in the microwave(rare for burritos) it still tastes good! So just order it and see what happens. I have only gone through the drive-thru but the service is great and you get complimentary chips and salsa! From the looks of it, the interior does appear inviting and there is a full bar, so maybe one day I will get out of my car.

This could possibly be the best burrito in town. Hard to say, I have my tried and true favorites but this definitely gives any bomb in town a run for its money. Get the carne and give this place a shot. I think they have $ 6 pitchers at happy hour too!

My only concern with this location is the name suggests that their salsa is a reason to go here. My experience is that the quality and amount of salsa provided in inconsistent. On a recent to go order, I did not get a reasonable amount. What is did get was so spicy, I could not use it. I love spicy salsa so I do not say this lightly. I would recommend that they label their salsa and not be too stingy on the amount they provide on a to go order.

Stopped by here around 8pm on a Saturday night, ended up ordering some dinner and some margaritas. The food was ok, and the drinks were poured a little heavy. The service however was horrible, there was one guy who was handling the front cashier, the drive thru, and bagging all of the food. We ordered drinks with the owner how was working the bar right before he stepped outside and threw up, he looked like he was drunk and then turned off all of the on lights even though they were open for another hour. Said he was done and left the other guy to now also bartend and was working all three jobs. Very bad management, sad to see the potential wasted.

Very good food(taco’s) & fast, friendly service! It’s first time here after hiking Loch Lomond. I had the Baja taco(fried fish, cabbage and dressing) and a carne asada taco… Both were flavorful and good serving portions. You get a basket of chips and salsa bar has solid selections of hot to mild salsa in different flavors. I would def come back again. Outdoor seating option is nice… and they have umbrella to give shade on those hot, sunny days.

We lost a Kentucky Fried Chicken … for THIS? Wildly inconsistent customer service here. Won’t be going back. I wish it were possible to give zero stars. Some Bebe-shirt-clad minimum wager cashier there flat-out ignored us, while getting all kitten with single male customers. Business must be good for you to treat paying customers that way, sweetheart. That, or you’re an un-fireable relative of the owner. I earnestly tried giving these clowns a chance over the past four years. The lack of real improvement in the face of so many negative reviews here indicates to me that management just doesn’t give a damn. There are enough mediocre Mexican food joints in Scotts Valley such that you needn’t waste your time at this completely sub-par one.

Some people may consider a quesadilla to be a kids menu item. If you think so, then this place will blow your mind. This place is amazing. I came with my family and we all ended up with something great. Passing by or here in town it’s worth stopping in.

I tried to order a simple burrito with just rice, beans, salsa, and guac– and they ended up charging me for a super burrito, with a bunch of items left off– for the higher cost. I got my burrito and drove back to work. When I bit into my burrito, it was full of pork? chicken? I am not sure what animal it was, but as someone who hasn’t eaten meat since the 1990s, I was appalled and almost threw up. When I called and told them what had happened, they were like, «oh bring it, we’ll give you a new one». Well, I didn’t have time so I just didn’t get lunch that day. I went back after work, showed them the burrito, and asked for my money back. Apparently, if I hadn’t shown them the uneaten burrito they wouldn’t have believed me at all. They were insistent on making me a fresh burrito instead, but I told them no, I have dinner plans, this was supposed to be lunch. I got my money back, but no one seemed that concerned that they served meat to a vegetarian– which is surprising given the amount of vegan options on their menu. I’ve been back once(vegan flautas are tasty) but I find it ironic that a place called Salsa’s is so stingy with their salsa. If you’re going to charge $ 11 for a burrito, be more gracious about offering condiments.

Man this place is amazing. Staff especially elsa, was super sweet and cheerful. Only thing i would suggest is please dont run out of tamales or carne asada… not good. Other than that the chicken mole and tacos excellent!!!

I ordered a carne asada burrito with just meat rice and cabbage… Tasted basic and plain. They are also stingy with their salsa cups(they are literally microscopic) If you want a mediocre $ 11 burrito, go here. Never coming back ever again

I am always on the search for the best Baja tacos. These are not the delicate mix of texture that are my favorite but they are a solid go to in a pinch. The fish serving is large and crispy and the sauce that was yummy and creamy. I posted a pic so you can see. I’d only get 2 next time since the fish is so large. The vegan crispy tacos were just as they were described. Crispy and full of filling without being heavy. Plump tomatoes contrast nicely with the fried tortilla shell. There is outdoor seating, though nothing picturesque, but still better than sitting inside.

Salsas was recommend to me by a friend and I was very excited to try it out. I came in last Friday 2÷26÷16 and ordered a Salad topped with red snapper in a garlic lime sauce and a margarita. The whole experience was not pleasant. I’ve worked in restaurants for years(as a server and even at Mexican restaurants) and I normally NEVER send food back unless there was a real issue. First off, I came in with my 3 year old son, who is clearly big enough to eat and I had to request another water, and utensils for him so he could eat too. The women working may have just finished a busy lunch service, but I came in around 1:30pm and it was not that busy. When I asked for another water, a set of utensils, and a ramekin for my salsa, I was looked at like I was asking for the world. I waited 20 min, and my food came, but still no Margarita. My first bite of the fish was so bad that I spit it out. I usually will just eat things and not complain but neither I nor my son wanted the fish on the salad(and mind you his favorite protein is fish). We could only eat the avocado, broccoli and tomatoes that were not touching the fish. All of the mixed greens in the salad were ruined by the very unfresh fish and the fishy sauce that covered it. I went to the counter and simply was going to let them know that the fish in the salad was bad, and that since I still hadn’t received my margarita, for her to just cancel the order on it. I no longer had time to sip it since I needed to get my son home for a nap. When I let them know the fish had gone bad, they told me that it was simply my taste that was wrong and that their fish was indeed fresh. First off, don’t argue with me, try to rectify the situation, and not tell me its because I was simply impartial to the flavor. I suggested they try the fish to see what I was talking about. I was trying to save another patron from the same problem. The manager(?) came out with the container of fish and told me, «It is fresh, just smell it!» I smelled it, and after taking a couple sniffs I told her«It honestly doesn’t smell good.» She turned the container on the side accidentally and revealed the label on the bin«Snapper 2⁄15.» I’m sorry but you are serving me 10DAYOLDFISH and are telling me that its my taste buds that are«wrong» and that your fish is perfectly normal?! She then shoved the container into another gentleman’s face who was ordering, and told him to smell it. He quickly asked the server taking his order if that was the same fish as he just ordered in his fish burrito, and the girl said, «No thats the ‘white fish’ you ordered the Snapper.»(When I initially ordered, I asked what the white fish was and was told it was indeed snapper and that Mahi Mahi was a special at extra cost. So the girl blankly lied to the patron to get him to keep his order). This was my breaking point. Not only could they not just accept my criticism politely and offer something else, but they denied that it was even valid. This is when I asked for my money back on the whole order. The manager woman brought over a gift certificate book and told me she couldn’t give me back my money but would give me a gift certificate. At this point, I was so frustrated and trying to get out of there to put my squirming toddler to sleep that I just said«ok thats fine.» Then she tells me while she is writing the certificate that she will only give me «$ 6 back on my $ 12 plus tax and tip salad» since it was due to my taste preference and not their«fresh fish.» I was so baffled by this woman’s managerial skills that I quickly left, and after I got in the car and strapped my son in his carseat I noticed that she didn’t even sign the gift certificate, which clearly states, must be signed to be considered valid. I was not going to get my son back out of his seat, to go in there again to tell her to sign something that she was so reluctant to give in the first place. I was so appalled my the whole experience that I will never return to this location. I am still in disbelief.

Went to this place for my first time this tonight. Me and my boyfriend were starving on our way home and were planning on stopping st taqueria Vallarta in Felton because we go there frequently. We saw salsas and have always heard good things about it so we decided to stop there. I ordered the Santa Cruz burrito with shrimp + avocado, He ordered the Santa Cruz burrito with carne asada with a side of fries. We both love our food, there was nothing I could pick apart about the place! The salsa could also use some improvements in the«medium heat» category. We will absolutely be back.

Incredibly delicious food! Very consistent & fresh flavors. Especially the green avocado sauce. Yummmmm! Down side: do not enjoy listening to staff argue with each other. The drive-thru should have 1 person managing the cars instead of 2 staff members to avoid confusion. One shorter man was being quite rude to another taller employee… he kept repeating degrading comments clearly within earshot of customers. I will not come back if employees are allowed to treat co-workers with disrespect. Thank you.

Good choices, tasty and unique. Doesn’t taste like Vallarta. But too stingy with the namesake. lol Dont name your restaurant«Salsa», put out eight different types and then only allow for two ounces to be taken at a time. I think the manager needs to go as all the other employees are never there long enough to learn their job. But I’ll be back.

This place opened around a year ago. I have come here a few times and enjoy it a lot :) Pescado dorado: This dish is deep fried fish. It comes fairly quickly and tastes great! It comes with rice, beans, and half an avocado. It is a huge fish and we’ll worth the value. 5 stars! Tacos al pastor: Good tacos, as expected. Delicious sauce. No pineapple. 4 stars. Dog friendly seating outside :) Service is OK. Customers pay at the front and bus themselves.

I was being detoured off Highway 9 through Scott’s Valley when, while at a stop light I was given time to contemplate my hunger and spot Salsa’s Taco Bar. At first I was going to pass it by until I saw the words«Vegan Fresh.» Sure enough they have a Vegan Section of their menu with 13 items on it! I had the Spinach Enchilada which came with beans, rice, chips and a trip to the fresh salsa bar with at least 9 different salsas that can be as spicy as you want them to be. Somehow the food is Vegan, healthy and still authentic Mexican. Full bar, plenty of beer on tap including Modelo Especial and attentive servers. Best detour ever! I’ll now drive out of my way to get there.
