By far my favorite Mexican restaurant in Santa Cruz! Let alone Scotts Valley lol I went to svhs so I have been a huge fan of this restaurant for many years and they have never disappointed once! The owner is always so nice and so are the staff. I’ll probably be going here forever

Pretty average taqueria for the Santa Cruz area, but that’s a high bar so it earns an above average from me!

Shredded chicken plain zero flavor. Guacamole watered down and creamy. Dollar drink refills. Super nachos not super. No black beans. Quesadilla-not enough cheese to stick together. Fell apart. No sure whats authentic here.

I work at Verizon wireless near the area and I was craving a burrito. Coworkers told me to try this place and I’m glad I did. Great customer service and my shrimp burrito was amazing.

Hands down my favourite taquaria in Santa Cruz! Not only are their burritos delicious but they even add bacon and potatoes! A must try!

The usual breakfast burrito, but with salsa and pepper overkill. Very little egg, potato and chorizo. Every bite was salsa centric. I won’t be back, unfortunately. This has been my go to since 2003.

Yuk!!! We are a family of 2 adults and one toddler. Last time I was here I spent over $ 30! they don’t have a kids’ menu and their fish and shrimp tacos are considerably more expensive, it’d be ok if they were good, but it was one of the most disgusting fish tacos I’ve had, ended up in the trash. Now we go to Café Carlos and won’t be coming back to Los Gallos.

The Best Breakfast Burrito on The Planet! It’s not on the menu… You have to «build your own». I had eggs, bacon, refried beans, cheese, potatoes and avocado. Mucho delish!!!

It’s hard for me to drive by this place without stopping for fish tacos. The best fish tacos I ever had(and I tried few places)

If you are a girl, you will have great custumer service. Unfortunately I went with my kids, and the service was the horrible. I’m not coming back to this restaurant.

Los Gallos is hidden in a small strip mall; you wouldn’t expect to find such authentic and quality Mexican food in the middle of Scotts Valley, but there it is! SF burritos may be renowned for their size(and sometimes quality), but the burritos at Los Gallos rival those slung by any joint in the Mission. My companion got the chile verde burrito and judging by the way it bowed in the middle, it must have weighed over a pound. I ordered a super quesadilla(supering up gets you iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and guac) with shrimp. Normally, you get maybe 5 tiny shrimp in your quesadilla, which look like they came right out of a freezer bag. The shrimp at Los Gallos are fresh, juicy, and are about the size of a half-dollar coin(remember those?). In fact, they’re so plump you can’t make a properly pressed quesadilla with them — the cooks at Los Gallos just lay the top tortilla gently on top of that shrimpy mountain, so it comes out more like a tortilla sandwich than a quesadilla. Since Nate Silver missed out on ranking Los Gallos in his burrito bracket, the least I can do is crown Los Gallos with the very prestigious title of Sherry’s Favorite Quesadilla. Congratulations Los Gallos, there is only one winner in the Favorite Quesadilla category, and you deserve it!

Wow, this is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the SLV area. A few things I look for are: 1) quality meat — most places I have been serve you crappy, chewy, fatty meat. This place actually served quality meat in the burritos and tacos that I have tried. 2) *Real* hot salsa — most places call their salsa hot when it is just mild or bland. Although it could stand to be hotter, it does have some heat. On a side note, the guys are friendly and the food is completely satisfying!

They have an extended vegetarian menu and vegans can order anything there sans cheese/sour cream. Taco salad was tolerable but not worth another visit. The chips and salsas lacked character. The usage of plastics for those who dine in seems wasteful. CNN is blaring on the TV usually. the lunch staff are curt at best. They’d win a lot of points around this area if they had vegan meat substitutes.

Good solid fast mexican. Nothing fancy, but hits the spot especially in Scotts Valley where there aren’t tons of options.

Best Fish Tacos ever. They were delicious. :) Heads up though they only accept cash but they do have an ATM machine inside.

Carne asada burrito was great. Salsa so so. Could have more flavor. Improve the salsa and we will be glad to come back.
