Suburban Propane

These guys are a rip off– pure and simple. They charge almost TWICE the going rate for propane– change taxes that they are not allowed to and charge for the tank when competitors lend it for free. When we called to complain we got nothing but double talk. SHOP AROUND– these guys are out to take you for every single dollar they can.

I’m upping the rating because their pricing is starting to fall in line with their competitors. Hopefully, it won’t spike again next winter.

I hate to give this feedback, but it needs to be said. I have had Suburban for a long time, but I was a member of SPUG, the coop up here in Bonny Doon. There are other propane companies that agreed to sell propane much cheaper than Suburban, (they are also members of SPUG with special pricing per gallon of propane) so I called Suburban to ask if they would match the cheaper price (the price difference was 150.00 per tank of propane) and they said they would get back to me, but no one did. If I were the boss, I would have called back immediately or at least given someone in the office authority to match the competition, but they’ve chosen not to do that. I hate to see their tanks go, but you have to do what you have to do. I told Suburban that when your car gas tank gets low, we have the freedom still to shop around, but the secretary told me that propane doesn’t work like that.

Suburban propane has very bad customer service. They also have rip off gas prices. Once they get you in they raise the gas prices to highest levels. They really also have no regard about taking care of their customer. Be warned. I would not use this company ever unless you enjoy bad service.

I am a new customer with Suburban Propane and from the first contact with Donna in the office from Jeremy who came to my house to put in a new tank it was the best service I ever had. I can’t say the same about Amerigas. It’s a wonder not everyone doesn’t change from Amerigas to Suburban. Kudos to all at Suburban. You must be a great company to work for because it reflects on your employees. Thanks for the excellent service.

I think Chris may not be in customer service any longer but the company is very responsive still. I had an extra large bill and they willingly worked with me on a simple plan to pay it down.

We orginally had Suburban propane for 11 years. We switched to Amerigas do to a promotional offer. Big mistake. We have now returned to Suburban, because in 11 years we NEVER had a problem. We now have joined a co-​op to reduce our cost, saved $ 100.00 on our first topping off of only 30%. Most important, the driver Keith is wonderful. The office staff in scotts valley is so nice and helpful, especially Donna. I am sure whomever I deal with at Suburban propane will be very helpful and nice. This is a reflection of their management and who they choose to hire. Great customer service!!!

Thieves… they will charge you $ 75 bucks to give them their tank back… who the hell charges you to give something back

Prices are great and service is wonderful, staff is nice and helpful. 5 stars in my book.
