By far the worst pizza I have ever had. Stopped in the other day and ordered a large pepperoni pizza to go and from the moment I got back to my hotel room and opened the box I knew it wasn’t going to be good. I had about a slice in a half before I stopped. On top of not being thoroughly cooked the cheese had a weird after taste that caused me to gargle some listerine minutes later. This is my first time in the area and I only stopped here because it was the closest pizza shop to me. Take your chances somewhere else. The pizza shops in the area cannot possibly be any worse than this!

I mean if you are in west side and don’t have a car or just cant drive to old forge or are sick of colarussos you can eat this– but why would you– colarussos is still the best. This is heavy and greasy. I like that it’s saucy. A lot of reviews say this place is dirty. I can see that but think it’s closer to really old and run down. Can’t clean dirt. So yeah like worst case zombie apocalypse this pizza is fine– but with so many pizzAs near by so much better why would you? Took away a star after the owner responded rudely, foolishly, and with out any care for the product he is serving.

Have you ever been in the situation where you are SOOO ready to just hand out a great review on here? Your mood is great, you’re so hungry you could eat your shoe, and ALL the business has to do is nail your order and you will make sure the world knows their greatness??? Well. That’s exactly where I was last night. In Scranton for work. And pizza just sounded delightful. Even walked into a pizza joint when walking around my hotel and decided I wanted to check Unilocal first, because I wanted to eat something OFFTHEHOOK and not just good! Brownies got my attention. They delivered! The pics looked really yum, and I was digging that the owner responded to other reviews. Kind of gave it that«hands on» and more personal look. So I was sold. Ordered a calzone. The fact that they tell you it’s «BIG» right on the menu scared me zero! Asked for ham, pepperoni and sausage. They told me around 45 mins and I said«cool. See you then» Well. After the one hour mark. I called back. The same girl answered the phone, and instead of being apologetic, or seeming concerned, she just said«let me see if it left yet»… LEFTYET? It’s been an hour! I didn’t get a filet and lobster tail! Sheesh!!! She returned to tell me that yes it did leave. Oh ok. The delivery came 10 minutes later. And I was so ready to eat. They included no silverware. No napkins. And my hotel room didn’t have either, so this was frustrating as well. And not pretty I must say! The calzone was good. Not earth shattering. Pretty slim on the fillings they charged for. But I was happy with it. If it wasn’t for the 70 – 75 minute wait time and the mess I made trying to eat it with my fingers. I probably would have praised the place like it was the holy grail of pizza joints.

One of the first pizza shops we tried when we moved here from Boston!, AWESOME! Every time our family visits, this is definitely a stop for us. Keep up the good work!

I used to order brownies quite often as my dad used to work there, I’ve always loved their hot wing hoagies, they have blue cheese and lettuce on it and really good hot sauce. The pizza I do not care for only because I don’t like american cheese. The interior of the restraunt can use a make over for sure, their appetizers can be a little pricey since their just frozen. They use canned mushrooms for their food which is fine with me BC I love canned mushrooms I wouldn’t recommend much other than the hot wings and hot wing hoagies though, but the staff is usually pleasant

When traveling across PA on the way to Boston, I could not pass up the chance to introduce my boyfriend to the NEPA delight that is Old Forge Style pizza, so we found Brownies and stopped. I used to live on N. Main St in Scranton, in what I kindly referred to as ‘the funeral home district’ b/c there were 4 homes within a block or two of each other on this particular stretch of road. So, I have a place in my heart for the delicious uniqueness that is Old Forge style pizza. The cheese as it creates a creamy slick on the top of your mouth, a good red sauce, and the mid-weight crust that your teeth love biting into… yum. Brownies didn’t disappoint. Yeah, the booths were older and place felt like it had its history, but the service was fine enough and the pizza PERFECT. Keep it simple and order the pizza as either a just cheese or else a cheese and pepperoni. Only then can you fully appreciate what makes Old Forge style pizza a good slice. Don’t compare it to NY style, or Chicago style(and certainly not wood-fired!) but love it for what it is.

I went to pick up my food with my 5 year old son and the employees were using a lot of profanities, so I asked them to please stop doing so until my son and I have left. Then I heard one of them go in the back and say«stop cursing some a%#hole up front is complaining about it», so I waited patiently for my food and left. The really bad part of this experience was when I got home and noticed that they had spit all over my food and had to tell my son that we had to go to Burger King instead. I did not call back because I did not think that complaining to the people who had done it would get me very far, since then I have enjoyed good experiences from similar establishments in the same area. I just want to put the worst experience that I have ever had at a restaurant behind me and maybe help someone else from possibly sharing a similar one.

I ordered pizza for takeout and got there to pick it up and the place was disgusting. There was nobody there except for the workers and they were nice, but I thought looked disgusting. I got into my car and the pizza started to smell incredibly funky, but I figured it was just me(usually it is). I got to my hotel to eat my pizza and it was the most disgusting pizza I have ever had. I got the fresh tomato and garlic and it didn’t have any red sauce instead it had white sauce which was just not good. I was so sad because I was craving pizza and the reviews seemed great but it was so bad and I would have thought that the pizza I ordered should be very plain and simple. I posted this review and the owner sent me a message apologizing and was very nice then he decided to delete it and send me the following: «there is no red sauce on a tomato and garlic pizza, only cheeses, tomato, & seasonings, it smells good, since you admit to smelling funky, it was probably you and your car, i will buy you a bar of soap and clean your vehicle with smell elimanator, maybe you should take a bath, it is legal in 50 states, you review stinks like you and is bogus, you are an idiot» Not very professional and I don’t feel like family how he says he treats his costumers…

Great pizza, but not the best customer service. Weekdays they consistently close earlier than they advertise.

I grew up down the block from Brownie’s on 9th. Ave. The pizza is a good example of the«Old Forge style pizza» unique to Northeastern Pennsylvania.
