This place was awesome. I don’t understand any of these bad reviews this place was fantastic for the price. The service was speedy and the sushi was legit

The food is average. No habachi there. I m crazy about their coconut dessert and Palmier /Butterfly Cracker. Try it one day!

Your average Chinese buffet. It’s decent enough to quench your Chinese fix, but it’s by no means a 5 star restaurant. It has a good enough selection that you’ll probably find something to get you by until dinner. I dropped it a bit because I showed up at 11:15 expecting to eat, since they opened at 11. However, that was not the case as the food wasn’t ready until almost 11:45. Not a good first impression… Quick update. As I was paying they told me they don’t take American Express. Not helpful as it is plastered all over their doors that they do. Good thing I had another card with me by chance. Irritated me to no end…

This place used to be so good but everybody goes up to the Dickson city buffets. This place lets their food sit out for a long period of time and it gets cold or does not taste right.

High-quality Lunch Buffet is currently less than ten dollars with refills of drinks included and ends at 3.30. Then becomes dinner, as is all day Sunday. The vast selection of all sorts of Chinese cuisine, Japanese sushi and tempura, so many American varieties– like Fries and Pennsylvania — style pastry wrapped franks –multitude of desserts, like Hershey’s Ice Cream, is sure to please. Service is very pleasant. Love it.

I’m really surprised by the low reviews. I went here with my fiancée and my parents, and we all LOVED this place! In fact, I’d go out on a limb and say it’s the best Chinese buffet I can recall going to! The food was fantastic! I mean, sure, it wasn’t 5-star restaurant fantastic, but this is a buffet, people! And for a buffet, the quality was excellent! The choices were vast!(And that’s saying a lot for someone who doesn’t eat pork, beef, or shrimp!) Lunch(with tax and tip) came out to only about $ 10 per person! And for 3 plates of food, and unlimited soda, a VERY clean restaurant and bathroom, and courteous service, I honestly couldn’t have asked for more. I will say that the desserts were horrible, but I’ve never been to a single Chinese buffet where any of the desserts were even close to edible, so that sorta comes with the territory. But honestly, If I’m ever in Scranton again, I will most definitely be returning here!

Average. Not a whole lot to talk about here… the food is pretty forgettable. Warm, bland, pedestrian, uninteresting. There’s nothing bringing me back to this buffet; there is no hibachi, the sushi is a pretty awful mass-produced mediocrity, and often the food is overcooked. Service is so-so, I’ve had some good experiences and some not so good experiences… of course you only remember the bad ones. If you’re shopping for a Chinese buffet in the Scranton area ANY of the ones in the Dickson City shopping area are better.(see my review of Royal Buffet)

Worst Chinese Buffet I’ve ever been to, seriously. I’m not gonna be biased just because I’m from across the street. If a restaurant is good I’ll leave good reviews, if it’s bad then I will leave bad reviews, simple as that. The food here tasted like it was cooked four hours ago, the waitresses were gossiping loudly in Chinese. The sushi was as fake as Chinese-made sushi can get. The only thing that was good was the cantaloupes. The worst part of my dining experience however, came when I left the restaurant and was walking home. A man(I assume to be the owner) drove in his car and tailed me while I was walking, and eventually screamed: «F#$% you, China Moon Boy!» and drove off. Now that, my fellow Unilocalers, is not how a restaurant owner should behave.

Oriental Buffet is right down the road from center-city Scranton, less than five minutes on a bike. When I arrived, I stored my bike in the entryway and entered a very humid, steamy dining room. I’ve noticed that most eastern buffets I visit don’t have incredible service — Oriental Buffet was no exception. The waiters seemed to be busy doing other things. I really do dislike eating large quantities of food, but I love choosing my own portions, trying different things, etc. The sushi was rather good(for a buffet), and they had a large dessert section. I was, however, disappointed with meat choices — there were only two or three types of chicken.
