House of China

This opened as quick as a closed on Pittston Avenue they should’ve closed as quick as they opened when they first open on the top of Moosic street! The neighborhood was lucky that they left cockroaches and rats where on the back door of investing the neighborhood!

If I remember correctly, it has a beautiful interior. The food isn’t so great, especially compared to all the new places. I ordered takeout from them for a couple years and that ended when I found a fly/​large mosquito in my lo mein. Certainly, its best days are behind it.

Chinese food that is not like most area take out places. The fried rice is the best by far. I have had both delivery and dined in and was always satisfied. The experience is very positive when dining in as the décor is unique.

Disgusting food! We ordered and had to wait 40 minutes for it to arrive from the DEEP fryer as the waitress so eloquently told us. Before that she served us a yellow sprite and when asked why it was yellow we were told it was due to their dirty soda filter. When the food finally arrived, it was dripping with grease from the cold fryer and inedible. When we went to pay she didnt deduct any of the three dishes that were untouched. I wouldn’t eat here again and I suggest you don’t either.

My husband and I got delivery from here today. Disgusting! I got the sesame chicken… my mouth is coated in MSG. The veggies that came with it were drenched in a thick, salty liquid that had nothing to do with the sesame chicken sauce. The Dragon and Pheonix smelled like it had been picked out of the garbage. The egg rolls were inedible. Way over priced… granted, we ordered more expensive things on the menu (hoping to get better quality!). We ate a bit and couldn’t keep going. Blech.

My mother, brother and myself were staying at a hotel in Dickson City. «House of China» had a 5-​Star rating from the three previous Unilocal reviewers and so we ordered. They didn’t deliver to our hotel, which was 9 miles away, so I drove to pick it up. When I got back to the hotel we noticed that they severely messed up our order.
They forgot 2 egg rolls that were supposed to come with the dinner specials. They forgot our order of steamed dumplings and a pint of hot and sour soup. A third of our order was forgotten, even though each missing item was circled on the menu in purple marker. They even forgot the chopsticks, even though the word «chop sticks» was written in large purple letters on the menu.
When I called about their mistake they at first said they would deliver the forgotten items. However, I was shortly called back to be told that if I wanted the items I would have to drive back there to get them, because they don’t deliver this far. Frustrated, I had them reimburse my credit card.
All in all the food was good, but the service was terrible.

This will be short and sweet. Love this place. My girlfriend and I go here all the time. Great Food, Great specialty drinks. Super nice staff. It is really nice inside. a little pricey depending on what you get, but they give you those great crunchy noodles and duck sauce while you wait. And they leave the tea at your table, that is always a plus for me.
