Ok so I will say this — know when to call it. We came in to a mostly empty restaurant and 3 visible staff members. Our table of 5 was seated at a round table at the far end of the restaurant and were served by the bartender -(the bar being close to the entrance) which seemed weird. So after a fairly long sit we ordered drinks which were acceptable — then put in a good order. Every thing seemed to happen in 20 minute intervals from drinks and the ominous«is everything ok» visits with our first course coming an hour after we arrived. Our soups were kind of warm and the salad we ordered was simple but decent. Only 3 of the 5 of us had had food at this point and had already been there for 2 hours — once we saw tables that arrived long after us being served entrees we were all fed up and started to leave. The waitress ran back to the table after we asked for the check almost in tears saying our food was being plated and apologized for the wait. We stuck it out and got 2 of our 3 entrees first — both barely warm — then 10 minutes later the last 3 made it out — were ok — nothing special. We quickly paid and left. To summarize — our waitress informed us that the kitchen had left recently and they were training a new chef and it was also her last night. All of that considered the management of this place was embarrassing — cold food, slow service — all in an empty restaurant is embarrassing. If your staff walks out on you — you might want to close until someone else decides that your project is what they want to do– serving mediocre barely warm food at a slow pace because your scrambling is just plain sad. Please guys, close for a while and get it together.

This is the worst meal that I have ever had in a restaurant. There were four of us in my party. We all ordered something different and none of us could finish our meal. We rushed home and ate desert to get the foul taste out of our mouths. This establishment should not remain in business and, judging from our experience, will not be for much longer. I gave it one star only because 0 stars was not an option.

I wish I could say that I had a wonderful dining experience here, but I cannot. While the waitress was excellent, the food was much less so. It was a real disappointment.

Just enjoyed a terrific meal at Heritage Restaurant. This is a real gem for the Seabrook community. The mussels were wonderful for a light dinner. The gumbo was delicious and very fresh. Alicia, our server, went out of her way to insure that our drinks and food was made to order. We are thrilled since we live in the neighborhood and have been waiting for a quality restaurant to open nearby.

Delicious food! Nice atmosphere and the tables are not on top of each other. Super nice waitress was very attentive. Pumpkin bisque soup was spot on. Apple salad was good but just a tad light on the apples. The wreckfish special was fantastic. The pork was very flavorful. Sweet potato cheesecake 9 out of 10 stars. Good choc mousse thing also. $ 90 for 2 wines, 2 apps, 2 meals and 2 desserts.(About the same prices as Chez fish which we love) Will definitely be going back next time. Please, you need a website!

This was a wonderful surprise for dinner tonight, the service was great and the food was even better. Zero complaints from these particular eaters. Go Heritage!

Very impressed with the quality of food. The salad tasted like it had recently been picked from the garden. My wife had the scallops, which she raved about and I had the Ginormous baked half chicken with a healthy portion of greens. All in all, I would recommend for those that are staying in the Seabrook, Kiawah vicinity.

An incredible meal at Heritage this week. From start to finish we were delighted from well crafted cocktails to a luscious red velvet cake finish. Our entrees were on par with anything you could hope for downtown. Farm to table almost feels over used, until you hope for it on Seabrook or Kiawa, then it is a welcome event indeed. I’m not exaggerating when I say that from the minute we paid our tab and headed home I was already anticipating our next visit.

Heritage gets my vote as hands down the best restaurant on Seabrook and one that can easily compete with the best that Charleston can offer. For the locals, think back to the original days of Red Sky and you’ll fully understand what I’m saying. For those of you who are visiting the area, Red Sky which occupied the current location of Heritage a number of years ago was renowned for serving fantastic food in a wonderful, friendly and local atmosphere. I for one have been longing for the return of such a restaurant and I believe that it’s FINALLY arrived. The food was magnificent. I had the short rib which literally was so tender that I had no need for a fort. The presentation was out of this world. My wife had the scallops and we could not agree on who had made the better selection as both were perfect. Heritage is a farm to table restaurant. It is owned and managed by an executive chef and it truly shows. The menu changes daily based on what’s available from local sources so you’ll always find something new and different. If you’re staying on Seabrook or Kiawah and don’t want to make the 40 min. trek to Charleston to enjoy a wonderful meal, then DONT as you now have a local choice. If you want tourist food(cheap, fast and bland) then head over to the marina area and pick from any of the options available. My only suggestion is for a broader Champagne listing, perhaps some growners selections would be nice. I encourage everyone to check out Heritage as I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Really enjoyed our first visit to Heritage. Very attentive service, and getting to chat with the chef was a treat for sure. I had the scallop entrée, my wife had the duck. Both were excellent, as were our appetizers(the cucumber salad and salmon). Dessert was caramel-apple pie garnished with peaches and an orange chocolate mousse. Can’t forget the delicious corn bread served to lead the meal off. We’ll definitely be back!

To call this the best restaurant on Seabrook is to wildly underrate this place, as the island is not known for its dining options. This is far and away the best restaurant on Seabrook. It’s nice to know that if I want a really excellent meal, I now have an option that isn’t driving into Charleston. The meal started off with cornbread, which was slightly smokey and very good. We got the mussels and clams appetizer; the seafood was excellent and the broth was flavorful; the peaches included in the dish were a unique and really tasty touch. For entrees we had shrimp and grits as well as scallops. Everything was well prepared and extremely delicious; the mashed potatoes that came with the scallops were particularly good. Despite having no room left for dessert we made the correct decision to order both the chocolate mousse and the apple pie. The menu is focused on local ingredients and changes daily, so I’m excited to see what else they come up with! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, and the chef stopped by our table to ask how our dinner had been, which was a great touch. Really looking forward to dining here again next time I’m on the island!
