Ordered a chai tea latte with almond milk– was a bit watery for my taste. I came on a Saturday morning and it was pretty empty, but nice background music.

Great appetizers. Wonderful music and ambiance. Only 3 entrees but that was ok. This place is a great date spot. Owner was SO accommodating! This place has so much potential !!

I’ve been in about three times and I have mostly liked the food. My only criticism of the food is that it can be a bit overwrought and affected. I find my self wishing their offerings were a bit simpler. For instance we ordered the mushrooms with lump crab off the appetizer menu, but had I known they would come drenched in Bearnaise sauce I would have passed. To their credit I had an outstanding piece of salmon for lunch there. They do better when they keep it simple. By far the best thing I had there was an omelet for brunch. Unfortunately they’re discontinuing their breakfast service on March 9th. Not a good sign. The biggest problem with the place is that they’ve taken a neighborhood institution and ripped it out by the roots. No more conference room, no more open mic nights, no poetry readings, no wifi or outlets for laptops. It’s so completely different that it’s alienated a pretty large group of regulars in the surrounding neighborhood. I wasn’t a huge fan of Coffee Oasis, but places of its kind are rare and what replaced it is, well, pretty common in the Clear Lake area. I can understand the vitriolic and somewhat irrational negative reviews below. Coffee Oasis’ customer base feels like it’s been kicked to the curb with prejudice. Folks are mourning yet another loss of a place where you could stop in and get a quick cup of coffee on the way to work or have a light bit of breakfast after yoga. Seems like Soho is betting that it can find a whole new customer base in a competitive market instead of working with what Coffee Oasis had built. I really hope they work out because I hate to see a local business fail. But once they got rid of the early morning coffee and the breakfast service, they lost most of the business I could supply them. If I want to go to an upscale café with a menu calculated to get $ 15 – 20 per person, there are many many choices in that category. Sucks that I have to go to Starbucks to get my morning cuppa instead of my neighborhood coffeehouse.

I am very impressed with Soho. The food is great and definitely improved and the interior redo is stylish and comfortable. Great job by the new management. I have been a customer of coffee oasis for many years and I like the change.

Nice romantic little place right off Nasa RD1(recently renovated) soooo much nicer! The food is fresh n tasty! They change up the menu often so call ahead to find out what they are serving. They are waiting to get their liquor license so until then they offer a $ 6.00 cork fee.

Chris, the golden rule of business management is that the customer is always right. Calling those who had less than positive experiences at your establishment«bitter,» «cowardly»(how is publicly sharing with others cowardly?) or «completely off base» and telling them to «buzz off» does nothing to increase your customer service ratings or clientele. I did not take the time to post just for fun, but rather, for concrete issues shared by multiple friends that resulted in a negative experience. One doesn’t get to choose their customers– the customer chooses you based on how wiling you are to improve and better serve them.

I couldn’t agree more with the comments made here. Coffee Oasis was always our go to place for a quick cup of coffee or a tasty breakfast burrito. We haven’t been in a while but we went shortly after the change over in management. The hours were still reasonable and the place still mostly looked the same with the exception of the missing board games that we loved when we had our 5 year old in tow. We ordered from the new menu which was reasonably priced and the food was good. And then we tried to go again… on a Sunday. They changed the hours of course and are no longer open on Sundays. We used to love going at 6:30 am before heading into traffic for work and on the weekends after our long runs we would settle in for a sandwich and coffee. Even this morning as we left the house a little later than normal, we both said Coffee Oasis would be amazing right now! Too bad it doesn’t open until 7:30! The hours on Unilocal show 7, but they actually have a paper sign in the door showing they open at 7:30. They cannot replicate Chelsea as Chelsea has an extremely unique concept with a killer patio. You can’t beat that anywhere and looking onto Nasa from a shopping center isn’t nearly the same. I would love to have SOHO return to what it should be… a coffee shop that sells wine and has fun live music in the evenings. That concept was absolutely PERFECT! Until then, we won’t return… unless once they close down we decide to buy it and turn it back into a coffee shop!
