Ruby’s nothing much to say about the place. My family and I only went because they were closing. We went on their last day open. I liked the décor, very 50ish feel to it. They had your typical American food burgers, fries, shakes, and so on. I heard they have other locations. The only way that I would go again(of course to another location) is if it’s the only thing left open on a night out. Also it’s a great family place.

This place is a trip, we didn’t even know it existed until we happened to walk to the end of the pier. We already love Ruby’s, so it was a nice surprise. I’m giving it 3.5 stars. It’s small and oddly shaped inside, so the service isn’t very good. It was really hard to get anyone’s attention, especially after we’d gotten our food, which took a while. The meal was great as usual though, no complaints there!

Love this place but just an average experience last night. Santa Fe burger was well prepared but not a lot of flavours. Service was fair and disinterested. Not even that busy. The view saved it from being a two!

I don’t know if this is the original, or just feels like it, but it was the only location I knew about when I was a kid and we loved coming here. It’s in a lovely, nautical, whitewashed building at the end of the pier, and the Seal Beach pier is one of the best. We used to come early in the morning(sometimes on bikes) and get cinnamon roll french toast or later in the day and order shakes and fries. It’s even fun to be here on a slightly stormy day, protected in the little restaurant, with the sea swirling around you. A Seal Beach landmark.

Use to come and fish at the pier all the time as a kid and when me and my wife were dating, but never really ate here. Came back the other day with the family and had an early dinner. The staff was super nice. The kids got a little toy while we waited for the food. I order the fish and chips and the wife split american sliders with the kids. The food was really good and the order came out fairly quick. But the topper to this meal was their milkshakes. We ordered the peanutbutter cup milk shake and it was soooo rich and delicious. Will have to go back for another soon.

Why go to a chain restaurant that exists everywhere when you can get local favorites on Main Street? Eh, Ruby’s is okay… just what you expect from a typical diner. Your taste buds won’t be dancing with glee, but if you’re just looking for some run-of-the-mill American food, then you won’t be disappointed with Ruby’s, I suppose, but its not gonna be supa memorable or anything.

I ordered a Mushroom and Swiss burger. Since this is my first time trying a Mushroom and Swiss burger, IT’S THEBESTONE I’VEEVERHAD. My taste buds were skipping with joy. Now, I will have to try other places’ Mushroom and Swiss burger to compare. I do have to say that the garlic fries were a disappointment. It looks like they just threw on a little garlic sauce on top of their regular fries. I should have followed my gut and gone with the regular fries. *I rate this place 3.5 stars.

Reallly Enjoyed the walk leading up to the place but once we got inside it was a different story. Table not thoroughly cleaned up. Water glass has lip gloss stain. Bathrooms are outside dirty dirty Jennifer the waitress was slow who couldn’t remember to bring any plates for our appetizers Or even ask us what we wanted to drink until we just blurted out we wanted water. AHHHHHHHHH! Asked multiple times for condiments. Ordered the hickory burger the tomato was the to end of the tomato the part we would normally throw away. I Mean reallly!!! Don’t get me started on the BATHROOMS that are outside that smell so hideous and dirty. I don’t think this is RUBY’s STANDARD. Just plainly disgusted.

Brunch with a beautiful view! This location is at the end of a pier. The food here comes consistent with the rest of Ruby’s repertoire. What makes this place amazing is that it’s located at the end of a pier, so you can enjoy your walk there, catch a meal with a bomb view and walk off your garlic fries with our walk back ! We usually frequent here in the mornings for brunch, there’s always something on the menu that makes everyone happy, whether you come with some friends, co-workers or hard-to-please family, it’s standard diner fare… malted shakes, hearty burgers and cheesy heart-attack chili fries. Although some items almost feel like you are eating at your local Denny’s, you are paying for the view! If it was any other Ruby’s I would pass on the opportunity, but this one has a view that I would not miss!

Beautiful walk down the pier, incomparable view from inside — one is hungry by the time you get there and hoping for a decent time. Well listen up all you houghty-toughty, fancy-dancy places! Ruby’s get fives stars because they actually care about your experience. The waitress was delightful, quick to respond, and she seemed happy to have a job. But the manager was what really showed us why they are so popular. He showed up at our table 3 times that night. Before, during and after our meal. «Just to check in», «Want to make sure the food is good», «Anything else I can do to make it better» — the simplest questions that made the night stellar. We eat at some pretty snazzy places — but the manager’s attention, flavorful food, great view and service put this one above most of them.

This was my first time at Ruby’s and we had pumped it up so that my 4 year old would be super excited. The problem… well there was a 30 minute wait and nowhere to actually wait! The little bench was taken and we were all crowded around the door just trying to stay out of the way. Oh, and all this while tables sat empty! So then we get seated & order. Everything is fine… until I have to use the restroom. This location doesn’t have an indoor restroom! I had to go outside(and as soon as you open the door the smell of urine hits you like a brick wall!) and use the bathroom that all the people on the pier, the ones fishing too, use. ICK! It was disgusting! Is that the bathroom that the employees that are preparing my food & serving me are using too. EWWW! Seriously… put in a bathroom! We won’t be back to that location until they do!

I’m not a fan of the Ruby’s in P.V., but this location happens to be at the end of a pier. I loved walking down the pier with :! on a sunny but cool day with my stunner shades on. There was a wait, but it wasn’t very long. Service was quick and courteous. We ordered burgers, fries, and onion rings. I liked all of it! Their RubyMelt with grilled rye bread, american cheese, and sauteed onions was especially tasty. I must try this with a shake next time.

My wife works at a middle school as an aide in a class for special needs kids. Part of their education is to teach them life skills to help integrate them in the real world. They recently took a field trip to Seal Beach and had lunch at Ruby’s. This review is more about the excellent service they received from the servers there than about the food. The servers went over and above their normal duties to make sure the kids(13 of them) were taken care of and that they had a good time too. This was a large party that required some extra attention. Everyone in the group was well taken care of, the food order came in a timely manner, the orders were correct, there were more than enough refills on drinks. The service was provided by a friendly and accommodating staff.

We decided to randomly go to the beach when we were in LA. Seal Beach is actually a pretty tame beach for SoCal. We were craving some fries and some drinks. Tip: Alcoholic beverages can only be consumed inside the building. We didn’t wanna sit there too long so we ordered 2 garlic fries, 1 regular fries, and 2 diet cokes. Simple enough right? Not at all. For some absurd reason, it took Ruby’s Diner 35 minutes(while we waited in the cold) to complete our order. They kept telling us there were large parties inside and were very busy. our number was 223 but why did 224 come out before ours? And for our own curiosity, we asked 224 what they ordered… it was fries. I guess they hand place every piece of garlic on their fries because there’s no other believable reason that it takes 30 minutes to make fries and pour 2 diet cokes. Food was decent, service was horrible.

Great views. Do not eat here if you get seasick LOL. The pier rocks back and forth. The restaurant is located at the very end of the pier. It was awesome to be in a classic throwback diner. Great themed and I would suggest anyone order the bbq sliders and garlic fries. They were to DIEFOR!

I came here after taking a stroll down the pier with a bunch of friends at 8:30 p.m. last Saturday night. All I wanted was a shake to-go and, even though there is actually a take-out window outside, I had to go in to hostess stand inside to order. No big deal. There was absolutely no wait and, honestly, it looked like no more than a dozen people seated. This place was not busy. However, Art H.(so it says on my receipt) was hardly welcoming. As I waited for my shake, I tried to make small talk about the high school portrait of the real Ruby hanging up by the door. I asked if they knew the actress Anna Paquin because, I swear, young Ruby looks really similar. Instead of being polite, I got a scoff and visibly insulted«No, I don’t know what you’re talking about. I am at work and we don’t have TVs here.» And from his physical reaction, you’d think I had asked him if I saw him on «Jersey Shore» or something. Really? Apparently, my attempt at saving him from utter boredom on a slow Saturday night was incredibly unwelcome. I guess, I’ll stick to the HB or NB Ruby’s if I ever desire Ruby’s on the pier. I certainly won’t be returning here. In 5 minutes, they made me a non-believer in this location.

Longtime customer, first review! I give this place 5 stars. Treat yourself to an American meal at a great location for a decent price! Picture yourself biting on a juicy burger as the sun sets over the Pacific Ocean and the sounds of the waves crash below! Wow!!! My favorites: Santa Fe burger, Hawaiian burger, and how about this Blue Cheese in your burger… Yes Blue Cheese in your burger. How about that?! The price is very affordable. I’ll let their website show you their prices and pictures. I’m here to share with you one more of my favorite places to dine in So Cal!

Absolutely disgusting! I will start by saying that the staff is very friendly, place is in an amazing location but the food we ordered was disgusting. We both got the Black & Bleu sliders. I feel like we got beat up black and blue with terrible food. It looked cheap, it felt cheap and tasted terrible. I had one slider and immediately felt ill. You know me, im known for giving everyone 4 – 5 stars. I never hate but immediately after getting home, my lady threw up and I had to run to the bathroom. The saving grace for Ruby’s is their location and their milkshakes but seriously, someone needs to clue them in on better food. I dont know how $%^ up diner food?! WTF? Man, its a bum out because the sunset was beautiful and all we needed was a good meal. Ill come back but NEVER for food. Only for a milk shake and fries.

My first impression was, «Cool, 1 cent bubble gum at the front desk.» \We went to this location of Ruby’s just today! At the end of the pier, Seal Beach. It was a bit windy today and we actually felt the restaurant shaking a little while we were there! We started off with some shakes: the Oreo shake, Orange 50⁄50 shake, and peanut butter cup shake. So good! We ordered garlic fries, chili cheese fries, and chicken tenders, and it’s American food in it’s natural setting, the beach! Always worth the visit when you need a burger and fries at the beach. But nothing WOW about the food, it’s just good food at a good setting. You can see the waters from your table, and there are a lot of windsurfers right outside from the view of your table. This location was smaller, and cuter than other Ruby’s I’ve been to, and they have a wide selection of mostly burgers, salads, and some others like fish and chips and the halibut. The service here was great! And it’s not as crowded like other Ruby’s tend to be. Don’t expect to find a bathroom, it’s located outside like at any other beach pier! The lasting impression? «One of my favorite Ruby’s locations.»

This is a nice Ruby’s. On the end of the pier, beautiful view all around and had an amazing time here with my friends when we came. We sat up on the rooftop to enjoy the sunshine and amazing beautiful day and view around us when the whole experience went to shit!!! My friend’s girlfriend was whispering something to my friend, so she put her hand up so my friends little brother and I wouldn’t hear, and then all of a sudden, the manager came up to our table and told us that the other patrons at the restaurant didn’t enjoy the make out session that my friends were engaging in while we were at our table in the middle of the restaurant. The food here was very meh. I’ve had better food at other Ruby’s locations, and your shake was shit. I could have made a better 50⁄50 shake at home. First, don’t ever approach your guests when we are in the middle of having lunch and say that to us so loudly. Second, if you are going to say something like that to us, get your facts straight and make sure that she really is making out with him, before you say that. You guys really need to learn what common courtesy is and know what is going on before you saying anything like that too us. I can’t believe this happened to us, and we were treated so horribly.
