I’ve been to several Dennys and I’m in love with their pancakes. On this Thursday I did not have much time so I called them to place a to go order at 7am. My order: Two orders of the 2 pancakes Two lemonades I told the gentleman I would be there in 20 min. I get there 25 minutes later and Musul or Mesul the waitress/hostess has no idea what I ordered. She asked the another waiter and he gave her my order but OFCOURSENOW I had to wait! I was standing there for 10 min with a mother gues who was waiting to pay. During that time a line of 3 ppl formed up waiting to pay and although the waiters clearly saw them no one bothered to acknowledge them or charge them. Honestly, if I were them I would have just walked away, that would have caught their attention. Once I finally received my order and took it home I noticed my pancakes had black spots on them as if they were chocolate chip. BUTOFCOURSE I was wrong. They were burned spots from other food they probably cooked on the same hot plate or whatever they cooked it in. I couldn’t eat it. I had to throw it away. In short, DONTEATHERE!!!

I took my son here. I ordered a veggie burger. First off, it was so dry when I first bit into it. They didn’t put any condiments in it like any other burger. There was no ketchup or mustard. The burger looked presentable, though. It was a typical veggie pattie, romaine lettuce, tomato, red onions, and pickles. My first bite had me thinking, «Geez, this is like a piece of cardboard.» I got ¾ths into my veggie burger and bit in to something cold, my assumption was the vegetables were very cold, but my fingers started to sink into the sides of the veggie patty and mush came out the side of the bread. It was extremely the opposite of dry. It was mushy, with the constituency of bread stuffing or mashed potatoes. It was undercooked, thawed veggie patty, soggy and absolutely DISGUSTING. I looked for Vero, who was my waitress and she came over and for the first time in my entire life, I returned food. She was apologetic, but it wasn’t her. Her service was typical in the periodic pit stops by our table to check on us. I was hoping for a refill of my iced tea, but by the time I thought about it again, I just wanted to get my dinner over with and get the hell out. What started off as below average, turned out to be a disaster. I will NEVER eat here again… well, unless they tell me they have new cooks. They gave me a $ 5 discount for the trouble. It’s 2 hours later and my stomach is still curdling at the thought! Not worth it, plus, I tipped Vero $ 5. So, really, I didn’t get much of a discount in the end.

Did not give me a free quesadilla. I asked. The guy just said, «No.» And that was that. I do not recommend.

I was there today at 12:30 for lunch. I sat in the dining room off of the patio. While reading the menu to figure out what to eat a bug flew on my face. I brushed it off thinking it was a fly. And then another. I noticed that a group 2 tables away moved from the window to a different booth. I wondered why. Then I found out. The dining room windows had termites and they they were swarming. We watched the manager sit more people by the windows and then each of them move as we did, When we paid our bill we spoke to the manager who claims they were not termites but ants. No they were termites. Never once did he apologize or comp us our lunch. Please be careful when eating there. Never again.

I see people complain about Denny’s … These people can’t say anything good about anybody! Anyway… love this place! The managers are great, Karen is always coming out and doing whatever is necessary to help the servers and assist the customers. THANK-YOU

Tonight the service was horrible. We flew in from Denver and that was by far the worst dennys ever. Weren’t taking food to customers even after it was ready on the tray and food was cold. When we were asked to have it remade the crew continued to trash talk us in Spanish thankfully my mom can actually speak Spanish and that means we will not be returning. Props to the cooks though my chicken fried steak was fire.

The service here is horrendous When we were seated we where told that our server Amy would be right over to tend to us. Well, we never met Amy, instead we had to flag down a busboy who took our order. While he was very pleasant, once we received our & drink we never saw him again either Kids received their activity menu but never got their crayons even after asking twice :( Pancakes were served without syrup, beverage served without straws. Needless to say we will not be returning.

A few nights ago 5 friends and I ended up at this Denny’s craving some breakfast food. We were being pretty loud and obnoxious but our waiter didn’t seem to mind, I think he got a kick out of us to be honest. We ordered A LOT of food but it all arrived pretty fast. I ordered the peanut butter cup pancake breakfast and I have no regrets. I knew the stars had aligned when I was able to enjoy two of my favorite things(breakfast & dessert) at once. What can I say I am a fan of Denny’s.

Goodness… why am I driving all the way to Seal Beach to eat at Denny’s of all places?! Firstly, it was halfway between a friend’s place and where I am, and secondly, because I had an inexplicable craving for Denny’s breakfast! :) This is the first(or second) time I’d been to a Denny’s since my college days in many years gone by. Oh those days of 24Hr Denny’s dining while working on an all nighter projects. Ok, back to earth :) I really looked forward to eating at Denny’s again after all these years; particularly for the breakfasts they’re so known for. This Denny’s is located in a small strip mall off the main road, so is hard to miss. There was plenty of parking, but boy, business was good here as the place was packed. There was outdoor covered patio style dining, but it was a bit warm this Sunday at noon. The lobby was filled with people waiting for a table, but from the looks of it the turnover was quite speedy as we were advised by the hostess that the wait would only be about 5 – 10 minutes. Yay! We were soon seated at our booth by the window, the server came by to hand us the menu, and took our drink orders. Ok, she seemed a bit moody today… no smile :(… so we made doubly sure to be a couple of nice happy customers and tried not ruffle any feathers :) The menu has changed since the last time I stepped into a Denny’s, but the breakfasts they’re known for are still there and that’s all I focused on. Unfortunately, these days, I’m older and try to eat a lot healthier. So, I went ahead and ordered the Fit Slam… in my college days I’d order the Grand Slam :) It came with an egg white scramble with spinach and cherry tomatoes, turkey bacon strips, choice of toast(I chose the English muffins), and hashbrowns… oooh, I’ve been waiting years for their hashbrowns! Ok, needless to say, this is not how I remember Denny’s breakfasts. The portion was pretty small… ok, so it was a Fit Slam so the calories needed to be kept under control. But in the end, I was actually perfectly filled. However, I must say the quality is not there like it used to be. Particularly the hashbrowns which seemed kind of dry, and as though they’d been sitting around for a while. The eggs… well, how badly can you mess up a scramble, right? It was ok. I think my favorite part was the English muffin. I tasted a bit of my friend’s French Toast with fresh strawberries. The strawberries were fresh, but the French toast… eeerm, ok I guess… nothing to shout out about. I’m not sure if it’s just the location or whether the standard has gone down at all Denny’s as a whole. However, next time I’ll likely try another location closer to home just to compare. And, I will likely not ever order the Fit Slam breakfast again.

I give 2 stars because of Management… If I could give 2 separate ratings I would. The waiter himself deserves 5 stars, i don’t recall his name but he was working the booths this morning. He was pleasant and tried his best, but he had a TON of tables and was rushing around the whole time we were there. not his fault that the service was slow, or that my eggs were cold… he could only do so much and I really thought he did his best for the situation, and I gave him a 25% tip, I’m sure he was stiffed all day because of the slow service, but I think he really was trying his best to handle all the tables.. the location is WAY understaffed. otherwise the food was average Denny’s food, I wanted to ask for more a few things but I didn’t because the poor waiter was already really busy.

We went there to eat breakfast & for my friend’s free Birthday Grand Slam today. I ordered the Grand Slam w/the seasonal pumpkin pancakes. The pumpkin pancakes & the butter they served it with was really good! The service was friendly ;)

The staff is very nice but the food is not good. We go there during the week for lunch and have tried 3 times in the last 2 months and have gotten bad food each time. Cold, unripe avocados, wrong order. Maybe they need to look at who is cooking their food.

Jamie G. Was an excellent server! I’ve had issues with this Dennys in the past, only with the child, and even though they were out of a lot items, she still made up for that with great service. I always get vegetarian meals, somehow always ending up with some kind of meat, do I chose not to come here again, but I’m very glad that I did today. Great job, Jamie!

Came in at 11:30pm on Friday night for desert, after a late dinner at home. We sat there for about 10 minutes(with our menus at the edge of the table) before we were acknowledged. Only one waiter on staff, and a manager(apparently) named Karen. Joey, our waiter, promised«be there in a second guys» — but kept entertaining his regulars. Another 10 minutes went by. Karen stood by the register just to take up space in the restaurant. No other purpose. We kept waiting… and waiting. Finally, Karen decided to make herself useful and took our drink orders, so Joey could keep doing what he’s good at. He eventually took our order after his group of female friends paid their bill and left. We were there only for their ice cream deserts. Nothing that entailed cooking, just minor preparation. If I had waited this long for a steak, I’d be pissed. Somehow I kept my cool. Of course Joey becomes super friendly when we take our bill to the register. Funny how suddenly they provide customer service, when it’s time for the customer to leave a tip. He’s definitely not the only one. This is common in diners like Denny’s. None the less, waiting a long as we did for ice cream, is ridiculous. It was nearly 1:00 am by the time we left. This place was poorly managed when they first opened, and nothing has changed. 2 stars because the deserts are good.

I first came here a few days after they opened for business. It was a disaster, but since they had new staff and still had to shake down, I gave it the benefit of doubt. The kitchen was disorganized. Allegedly the cook had called in or failed to show up, one of the persons cooking/working the kitchen did not speak any English, and the two of them were not working as a team. Food took and extraordinary time to come out. I have returned twice since then, leaving plenty of time in between to get their act together, but apparently they can’t. Every meal has had problems with food quality or temperature. On one visit, my mashed potatoes came out cold. I don’t mean they had cooled waiting for pickup(which as a problem as well) but were cold, as in having come out of the refrigerator and uneven in their overall temperature with room temperature in some parts and cold in others. I asked the waiter to have them warmed up. They came back after more than 5 minutes so hot I burned my mouth. They obviously put them in the microwave on high for too long a time and did not check the temperature when they took them out, of if they did, did not care. Essentially, on every visit there were problems with food or service. Except for the first night when they had first opened, the presence of a manager was non-existent. One observation about other comments for this place and others in the area. Yes, it is near Leisure World and many patrons are elderly. I wasn’t aware that this issue was a negative for any establishment. If you are offended or feel the need to comment just because elderly people frequent an establishment, it’s time to rethink your priorities. Remember, you will be that way some day, at least if you don’t suffer the alternative. I don’t think it would be nearly as acceptable to comment on the racial or ethnicity of a group, but for some reason, it seems ok to comment on how the mere presence of elderly have an affect on one’s dining experience. Go figure.

I had the choose 3 sampler. I chose 2 orders of buffalo chicken strips and 1 order of mozzarella sticks. I was served 3 mozzarella sticks UNDERNEATH4 buffalo strips in a bowl! Mozzarella sticks suck with buffalo sauce and the chicken strips were so over cooked that I could barely eat the breaded strips without breaking a filling! This location has a terrible cook in the evening. You should only order breakfast at this location. Nobody can screw that up!!!

Food, service, etc. is all what you would expect from a Denny’s. We visited on Christmas evening, and the place was slammed, but woefully understaffed. As a result, the servers were harried & forgetful and the kitchen was slow. Management could fix the problems easily.

A Denny’s is a Denny. Just like this place. Located next to Leisure World, so don’t be surprised to see a bunch of old people here. The grand slam use to be a great deal, but with all the mom and pop shop in SoCa, the Denny option becomes a secondary choice since other places gives you better food at a cheaper price. Nice and attentive staff.
