Woody’s Diner

I checked the place out this morning and Woody’s is no longer there. It’s going to be an Avila’s El Ranchito.

Nice and confortable little place, burgers are good service also! A little longer to wait our food, but good food takes time.

Worst place ever I went in and ordered a large side of fries and after 20 min we still haven’t gotten out fries and there were people who came after UsAnd ordered a huge meal with fries and got that first than us we still haven’t gotten the fries I asked her when are we getting our fries and she was so sarcastic and honestly i believe it was a racist because my friend and I were the only non white people there and everyone got there food than us so we got up and left. this place is a racist place and didn’t attend us for not being white, shame on u guys

Heard about the happy hour specials here and decided to give it a try.
We were seated pretty quick, which was nice. But the service was terrible. The server attempted to seem friendly but I found her offensive and flippant. When my company asked for his beverage, she commented that she already said earlier she forgot and tried to distract us from her mistake. Poor service.
The food was average. My company ordered burgers off the happy hour special but apparently they ordered burger sandwiches (still listed under burgers on the menu) so the server didn’t honor the happy hour special. What made it worse is they charged us for two extra beverages and it was an ordeal to get the check straight.
Never coming back here again.

Fun environment, great music, excellent service and delicious food! It was a little busy today but we got seated soon after arriving. The waitress was really sweet and personable. I could tell she had a lot of tables to cover but she was on top of everything. My Hawaiian burger (no cheese on a wheat bun) came out exactly as I ordered it and tasted great! Love stopping here for breakfast and lunch!

Good food, good prices. The service left a little bit wanted, but they were still very polite. I got the classic cheeseburger and it was cooked really well. My girlfriend got the avocado burger, if I recall correctly and it also looked pretty good. Love being able to walk downtown and get a good classic burger for an affordable price.

This place is jank… they’re super stingy with their fries portion. And their burgers are average, not worth $ 9. You’re better off going to Carl’s Jr.

After our friends’ wedding at nearby Eisenhower Park, a bunch of us decided to go peruse the quaint shops along Seal Beach and grab some lunch in the process. Seeing how we had my friend’s daughter with us, we were looking for a kid-​friendly place, and Woody’s Diner appeared to fit the bill.
Although we were seated relatively quickly and had our orders taken down, it took at least 20 – 30 minutes for our group of 6 to receive our food. Normally, this wouldn’t be too bad — we did have a larger group than what they’re probably used to, and it was during lunch service on a Saturday — but when we only got our drinks refilled once before our orders came out to us (and on a hot day, at that), and no apologies for the tardiness? Really?
Added to the slow service was the clumsiness of the servers; not only did they accidentally drop other customers’ empty plates as they were clearing their tables at least twice, when one of them was refilling my drink, she spilled some of it on me. (As it was during the aforementioned hot day, I didn’t mind too much… after all, it was just ice water.) The female customer that came out of the men’s room as I was waiting to wash my hands was also another surprise… I guess she really needed to go!
What saved this review was the quality of the food — my Crispy Chicken Tostada Salad (a tostada salad with black beans, cheese, guacamole, cheese, salsa, sour cream, and sliced up chicken tenders — $ 9.49) was very satisfying, and Kathy liked her small order of a Thai Chicken Salad ($ 8.29 — not listed on the online menu). I liked the presentation of my friend’s daughter’s Corn Dog Kids Meal — it was in a ‘50s-​themed cardboard car tray. Additionally, the place let me have my Diet Coke flavored with cherry syrup, so that’s something.
While I liked the 50s-​style beach ambiance, and the fact that Woody’s Diner’s patio is dog-​friendly, the service definitely leaves something to be desired.

My husband and I stopped in here with our son, daughter-​in-​law and their 20-​month old. It was a most unpleasant experience. Kids were screaming, the service was mediocre, and it took over 30 minutes to get our very simple order. The food was so-​so (hard to mess up burgers and a hot dog), but the children’s chicken fingers were inedible. Will not be back.

One star cause you have vanilla coke. Food was cold, the potatoes tasted like dirt… really dirt. The bacon looked and tasted like it was reheated 3 times. Guess that’s why it was the only place that didn’t have a wait.

Service was extremely unpleasant. My mom and I weren’t served, so we decided to go to the front to order. We noticed that all the were served and drinks were brought for them. Nothing was coming to our table. The service sucked and I can’t believe this happened. Never coming to this place again.

After coming back from the beach the first thing I want is to just eat some good food. Unfortunately this restaurant doesn’t do quite well in that department. The food is decent, nothing that tastes like anything special or had much effort put into it. I came here about three times, and the only reason why I came here was because the service is great and we were craving french fries. It’s nice and comfortable to relax and chat with family or friends. And the only good thing I believe they served here were the burgers. But if you are looking for quality food, I would not recommend this place.

UGH!!! Fine I’m a bit hungover… aaand of course I’m STARVING !!! Through a random chance my girlfriend and I chose to go to WOODY’s… Where do I begin…
Got a seat and chilled for little bit and didn’t really think much of it, but 10 mins later someone asked if I wanted something to drink… Not a big deal
Order drinks and food, cause it looked like things were gonna take a while.
Orders are in aaaaaaand let the wait begin… Finally, signs of life, bloody marys are in and I’m pretty sure it was tomato juice with a straw.
There is nothing I can do, I have committed to this place and I’m going to eat. The waitress realized how long we had waited and was constantly apologizing. Whatever, I“M HUNGRY!!!
Oh finally the food arrives… and UNDERWHELMING AS PREDICTED. I got a stiff little patty for a burger and my girlfriend got the «Diner Special», and there was nothing special about it. Two eggs, pancakes and sausage links. Taste less and the sausage was a little cold. The pancakes, on the other hand, were not too bad.
We had been sitting so long our butts went numb. So sad, putting hard earned money down for a dining experience and turns out to be tragic, from slow service to drab food. I was compt’d a blood mary… but at the end, I just wanted to get out of there.
NEVER AGAIN… EVER!!!

Definitely recommend this place for old school atmosphere, and excellent service.

This is a staple for my fiancé and myself on a quick last minute date night. It’s a great deal on Tuesday; two for one burger night. I love this place. Quiet, clean and good food.

Came here for the first time. They have an outdoor tables and so my his and went inside to ask if we can just take a table. He took a while standing there, so I went in and asked him what happened? He said, there is no one around. I then spotted the waitress and went over to let her know if it was ok to sit outside… She then turned to me and said to the customers at the table, «oh I’m sorry about that» to the customers at the table…(?) as if I was being rude… Wow! I just want to quickly inform her that we will sit outside…
Dang, I was afraid to order food after that.(you know when someone doesn’t like you, they might do something to your food!) forget it…
Too bad because I’m a great tipper and I’m a very nice person!

Service was super slow. The food was ok. I waited for 10 minutes before I even got a menu, waited another 10 to get my drink, then after I ordered It took quite a while to get my food, a lady came out and said «I can’t find your server so I’ll get your food for you»
What was really weird was they were really attentive to the tables all around me (Outside seating) and would walk right passed me. I went alone and didn’t ask for much.

Very family friendly restaurant with great options for kids. We were super hungry and did not want to wait an hour for food. We wanted more time on the beach. The blackened chicken pasta Alfredo was flavorful and salad crispy and fresh. Great American spot.

After the beach were looking for a kid friendly place with vegetarian food — Woody’s was perfect. Love that they have breakfast served all day, and that there’s some interesting options. The Olé eggs (scrambled eggs with jalepenos, onions and cheese) were good, so were the nachos (the beans weren’t vegetarian so we had them without). The best part was the kids’ meal — my son’s macaroni and cheese was served in a cardboard car, which absolutely made his day.
Plenty of food and friendly service at a reasonable price.

Sour dough toast amd egaa are great
Sausage is a bit fatty and hash is from a can– ugh
