Just as importantly is the fact that the repairs are executed well and in a timely fashion.
The fear we all have of being taken advantage of vanishes after your car rolls up, finished, improved and for less than anywhere else. And since I have an old car (I like to call it vintage) I’ve been around.

I cant say enough good things about Seal Beach Auto Repair. I have driven everything from a BMW to Jaguar.10 years ago I was having issues with the high dealer prices and a good friend introduced me to Mac. The rest is history and I have never taken my cars to anyone else. All techs are friendly and know what they are doing and pricing is more than fair. They will always do there best to get you back on the road in a timely manner. I recommend Seal Beach Auto Repair to everyone. Thank you guys for all the great service over the years.

originally was a 5, but 7 days after radiator, water pump, and thermostat replacement. My car died on the freeway from coolant leak and over heating. Questionable workmanship???

I was recommended this place by a friend, after I took my car to the dealership and they wanted to charge me over $ 300 to change the spark plugs and clean out the fuel injection. I thought it was too expensive so I brought my car here. They changed the spark plugs for a little over $ 100 and said I didn’t need to clean the fuel injection, so that saved me even more money. Great deal and a good job done!
My only complaint would be that after I took my car in, first thing in the morning, I gave them my number and they said they would call me back with an estimated cost and time frame. Well after 45 min and no call I went back and the guy said he would call in another 30 min, which he did. I thought this was kind of a long wait to get a simple estimate, especially with only 1 or 2 cars ahead of me.
But with the low cost and quality of service I would definitely recommend this place!

I live in seal and I’ve been needing an oil change for a while. Being the local supporter that I am, I decided to try this place out. The appearance of the joint is shady to begin with but I read the reviews on here and decided to try it out regardless. Walking in I felt intimidated and unwelcome by the staff which consisted of two dudes and one slightly retarded looking teenager who could barely look up from the ground. It literally took the gentleman (Fernando) at the desk 3 minutes to acknowledge that I was standing in front of him. Finally, he asked me what I needed but in a tone of voice that I can only describe as disingenuous. I brought my car there at 1:30 and stressed that I needed my car to be finished no later than 3. I left my keys with him, exchanged my phone number and left. I went home and waited, and waited… and waited. Finally at 430 I decided to call and I spoke to Mike. I could hear him ask Fernando if my car was done and he said yes to come pick it up. I got there and Fernando was sitting on his ass, didn’t say anything to me and I got my keys from Mike. He parked my car about 4 blocks away and he didn’t even care to point me in the right direction until I asked him. Overall bad experience. Won’t be back.

I went in for an oil change. The day before I took my car in, I was quoted $ 35. When I came to pick up my car, they said it would be $ 54. I told them what they quoted me the day prior, so they knocked it down to $ 45.
They also said they would call me when my vehicle was ready, but they didn’t. And finally, they didn’t tell me where they parked my car when they gave me my keys (turned out it was about a block up the street).

I’ve driven by this place dozens of times, marveled at the dinky electronic car on the corner, but never had a reason to drop by. Welp, Unilocal,I had some sputtering issues with the Miata and so gave them a call.
Very friendly and open to questions. Even though it was a Friday afternoon they said bring it on by. Dropped it off, and got a call the next morning. Told. Me what was wrong and how much… Luckily Alot cheaper than I expected. I was kinda feeling it was the end for my little car, but it was just some plugs, a few wires, and a gasket. I Approved the work over the phone, got it done in a few hours, and even gave a cash deal!
I’ve NEVER had my car fixed in under 24 hours, got such straight forward answers, and got a deal! Matt and his team are awesome, and I’ve found the perfect new auto shop!

Doesn’t look like much, but this place is great! Car broke down in Seal, and I couldn’t get to my regular mechanic, so I went there. They swapped out my battery and alternator on the spot and had me out in a few hours! When I called back to see how much longer, it was already done, and they hasn’t called me. But overall I was super happy with their service! Price was very reasonable too.

I first called another shop that was closer about my VW headlamps being out and she said she needed my car ALL day since she was busy and would check it out because it could be a whole bunch of other stuff, not just a bulb replacement… Uh, no thanks, it’s my only car… I then called Seal Beach Auto Repair and the gentleman on the phone said to just stop by. So I jumped in my car and drove over, there were a couple cars in the bay, but one of the mechanics said to just leave it for 30 min and come back… So I wandered over to CVS up the street and took my time for a quick shopping trip. After 30 min I walked back and POOF my car was done, two bulbs replaced, and less than $ 20 with no headache at all! Will definitely keep them in mind next time I need some more help!

Can’t say enough good things about this crew. I went in there recently to bend the bumper of a rental truck back after a tiny accident. I had previously been told by another place that this would cost $ 125. SBAR did it for $ 20. Thank you guys!

This funky little repair shops fits right in with the rest of the village. Cute. So you know I am a girl. I took my VW here yesterday with no appointment. Just drove in. I noticed the left headlight was out AGAIN ! VW knows how not to build a car… They repaired it the same day. Very good service, totally good prices too. I have been here for a couple other emergencies. I don’t know how the owner stays so calm, but he somehow does. I am not sure how long they have been in business, but if the community did not like them they would not last. Word would get out. Honest, quick service. Don’t be surprised by the number of cars in the driveway, busy but efficient !.

There are two things in life that I absolutely hate: buying a car and repairing a car. At least now one of these things is less painful thanks to these guys. As Trevor K aptly pointed out in his review these guys excel in the three most important auto repair consumer metrics — Fast, Friendly & Fair. If only my mercedes dealer’s service center had their act together like these guys. Thanks guys, you’ve got a customer for life (well at least the life of the car!)

I hesitate to write such a raving review, because I want Mac and his amazing crew to still fit me in when I need to get something checked out… but, they deserve all of the 5 stars and more. I had a rancid smell coming out of my vents the past few weeks and finally hauled my Camry to Seal Beach Auto this morning. Even though there were cars lining the driveway and mechanics were obviously extremely busy, they dropped what they were doing to check out the smell. Within minutes, a very nice man had my air vents cleared of mouse nest and a new filter installed. First time in weeks that I’ve been able to turn on my A.C. without a horrible smell floating out! Thanks guys!
