I was a little worried when the owner didn’t know the factory placement for a stealthbox in my car, but was willing to work with him anyway. I needed a special order part that was supposed to come in the day before I moved out of town. The part didn’t make it, and I said that’ I’d try to make arrangements for installation next time I was in town. Three months later I found out that I wouldn’t be returning and asked for a refund on the prepaid part. They wouldn’t do it without charging freight and a 20% restocking fee. I was willing to pay freight, but not the restocking fee, which he never mentioned up front and which I felt wasn’t warranted in this situation. In the end, rather than argue I had him just mail me the part. The whole customer service experience felt lackadaisical, so if I were to need a car stereo place in Monterey again, I’d look elsewhere.
