The food was great however the waitress was terrible. We waited for over 30 minutes to have our drink order taken and the waitress was rude. When one of my daughters asked for a substitution the waitress refused to accommodate her, which is fine however she could have been nice about it. The food took forever and we had to keep flagging the waitress down for refills. Several people left that were at other tables because they were not been helped. Once our food was at the table there was hair in it which isn’t dire but adds to the negativity of the experience. We won’t be back. Ever. #wedon’thaveabuttonforthat.

The waitress was extremely busy(you could tell she had a lot on her plate-no pun intended) yet despite this fact she was pleasant, cheerful, and attentive. I ordered a Pelican ale and the crab cake entrée-which came out a fresh plate of crispy deliciousness!! I placed an order for onion rings to go and they were so thick, risp, and jucey the box could barely close!! A great atmosphere(classic 50’s and 60’s music plays softly in tbe background, teal walls and a beachy vibe), attentive staff, expediant service-I would definitely return.

Pretty good seafood restaurant in a tourist town. A little expensive, but every place is pricey here in Seaside. The best deal is great oyster shooters for 2 bucks. Three of those and a beer for around ten bucks is a nice lunch!

I went back for the buckets… It took forever they apologized and said it was because we were the first ones to order them that day??? Price says market price, they were about $ 40 per bucket. Kind of spendy but they were fun. Then they proceeded to automatically add a tip I think it was 20%(we had 4 in our group/table) I asked why did they include a tip. The answer was«we include a tip on our more expensive items» they also didn’t tell me about adding a tip. This is very shady because most people(well I do) will just add a tip and go, I am surprised I caught it. This shady practice lost two stars from my original in my opinion.

Great food, excellent service. We had fried calamari and the crab melt. The calamari was perfectly cooked. The sandwich was yummy. Service couldn’t be better. I also appreciated the relaxed atmosphere.

We ordered the clamdigger and the fish and chips. The highlight of the dinner was the amazing spicy sausage that came with the clamdigger dish. The clams itself seemed a little off tasting with little flavor. The fish and chips were something you could find elsewhere

Dea was the best waitress in town. People in Seaside are overall nice people but Dea was that much more nice. She was energetic and made us feel like home. Got burgers and the burgers were amazing. Fresh ingredients and great flavor.

«The largest cod around»(service and food was amazing) The place was slow, and after some indecision, we were briskly seated. Our waitress Dea was second to none by helping getting a seat for our baby carrier and conserning for his well being, menus, seated with a view, striking up a friendly conversation with my wife when she had a spare moment. This, combined with the food add my wife raving about the restaurant by the end of the night. After a disappointing search from Astoria to Seaside, we finally found a place with large enough fish and chips to make my wife smile(the fish was larger then some stakes I’ve had). The restaurant retains a wonderful policy of making everything on sight, including the beer batter for the fish and chips(which cone in cod, salmon, and halibut). The only down side The restaurant only failure is proper seats for baby carriers. The goal of beinging your kids with you is so that they can enjoy the time together, even if they are still too young to take part. An upside down high chair just won’t cut it. This problem needs to be addressed before a child gets hurt.

Very deceptive. Sounds like decent food, but just falls way below expectations for the price. $ 20 to $ 40 entrees served in diner style plastic baskets and simple white plares. My Shrimp and more Shrimp didn’t look at all like the dish pictured. Had to keep asking for napkins since the cutlery was wrapped in a single napkin(diner style). The ice water and iced tea were fairly good and the service was surprisingly EXCELLENT! ! Next time I’ll go to Norma’s next door around the corner. If you see a long line at a restaurant, that probably means good food! There was only one other table at Crabby Oyster when I lunched. Possible potential; mostly a rip-off. Not going back again.

The best service!!! My 2 little kiddos had just fallen asleep and we really wanted a bread bowl while we were here visiting in seaside for one night. So my husband went in to crab some for us. The lady inside noticed and was so kind to package everything separate so as not to get the bread soggy until we could eat it. And also, it is amazing clam chowder!!! Thank you and I will be eating here everytime I visit!!! Been looking for a great place that serves it INTHEBREADBOWL:) SEEYOUNEXTTIME !!!:)

This place has really good food. Surf and turf and then some! If you come between 3 and 5pm then they have really great happy hour food specials. The staff is really sweet too! Portions are huge and made to order. They even have a veggie patty option for their burgers. Did I mention bottomless fries? We will surely be back!

As others have stated, service was slow, but it’s a beach town. If you want to sit, and relax, and wait out the rain, you could do worse. Crab cakes were above average. The fish a chips had several options for the type of fish to have beer battered and served with fries. I chose the salmon since it seemed like such an unlikely option. The result was fine, but overly bland for my taste.

The Crabby Oyster descended into the classic beach town pitfall of high prices for only mediocre food. The venue has a nice vibe: was clean and well decorated. We sat a group of 8 with a high chair and had plenty of room. Although I had heard great things about the Oyster Po’ Boy, my wife was hell bent on crab — so we ordered the crab melt($ 18). The flavor was quite good. Were it not for the high ticket price, I would say that’s the guy to order. I sampled the kid’s Mac n’ Cheese which was pitiful, but enjoyable to a hungry 2 year old. Additionally, I pulled some nibbles off of the Bacon N’ Cheese fries and the Crab & Artichoke Dip. The fries were poorly executed. The best feature was the size of the bacon crumbles — the cheese being thin and lacking that chewy-gooey-stringy texture you hope for. The flavor profile was weak and certainly not worth the $ 8 or $ 9 as a starter. The crab dip again failed to impress. The crusty bread for dipping was inconsistently cooked with pieces ranging from very soft to rock-hard. Again, not work the $ 12 – 14 or so. I know I sound perpetually inconsolably frugal — which I may very well be — but I can’t stand behind a business that charges $ 7 for a local pint of beer(Buoy IPA out of Astoria, OR). I would say that for the price you can do better than the Crabby Oyster. The crab melt is worth a look, but unfortunately you have to sell a kidney to fund the purchase of it. I suspect if you snoop around town, you will find a better meal for less. Pros: Crab Melt is pretty good, nicely decorated, lots of wiggle room. Cons: Very expensive, most meals are mediocre,

Certainly appealing from the outside. The menu is a lot like the type of food you can get at Long John Silvers, except beer happens to be available. I wish there was more to taste, but there was not. Out of town tourists seemed to love this place; lined up out the door. I would be surprised if any of the guests I saw were there for the second time.

This place was a decent little stop in. I was really in the mood for a full on shrimp meal and this was the only place in Seaside that had a legitimate shrimp meal on menu. My wife an I split their clam chowder soup and the«Shrimp and more Shrimp» plate. I liked it. It wasn’t phenomenal, but it was solid. Ask for the spicy kind :)

Surprised to see so many bad reviews for this place. My wife, son and I had a wonderful experience here. We were in town for Spring break and yes, this place was packed, yes, the service was a bit slow but the food was excellent and our server was busting her a** off. Wish I would have caught her name– she was an older gal but the hardest worker there. I ordered the Crab Melt and it was probably the best I’ve ever had. A little pricey but worth it once I took a bite into it. My wife ordered the Kitchen Sink and she loved it! Both were fresh and packed with favor. We will definitely return next time we visit.
