So it looks like this place is back open? My boyfriend just went there this past week with a friend for drinks and chinese food and loved it. Rumor is that they’re planning on adding karaōke. I’m giving it a 5 star because they loved it there!

I work just down the road from this place so naturally I find myself in there with a co-worker or two for drinks and happy hour snacks. Cool atmosphere, feels like you just stepped back in time! It’s never crowded which means great service, the drinks are a bit stiff and the steak bites are awesome! Not a young crowd(which I am younger) but I think thats why I enjoy the place. I also like to explore as there are so many diffrent rooms with old pictures and art every where you go! I’ve never eaten an entrée here– but for happy hour this place is great!

Come on down to hear the bartender’s stories about working on Bourbon Street in the Dirty Dirty. Or have some HH Onion Rings with a bowl of tartar sauce and a couple of strong-ass drinks. Or both. Chooo-chooo!

Believe it or not Andy’s use to be one of Seattle’s hot dining spots always packed during the 1950 – 60’s liquid lunch scene exclusively set aside for Boeing execs. My dad used to take me here when I was a kid during his Boeing lunch breaks. Man those were the days. First time I’d been here since 1974 and it hasn’t changed a bit. Great char-broiled steaks, burgers, etc., all served up in ex-president FDR’s old private 5 car dinner train. What more could you ask for?! I’d love to see this place return to it’s former glory, with original paint, working doors, etc. but for now I’m just really glad it’s still here and the food is just as I remember it.

the Diner is in a refurbished railroad car with some original fittings(fans, luggage racks) and period-style updates. The road sign calls it a ‘Seattle Landmark since 1949′. It’s more than just a Diner, serving cocktails and accomodating ‘Banquets’. I rolled in for brunch at 11am today. The menu was typical diner food including favourites like ‘Joes special’. I plumbed for the ‘Eggs Benedict’ which was well prepared, It tasted like good home cooked food. Decent portion size for $ 8.75. Botttomless coffee mugs and a laid back waitress. The service is not ‘fast’ and superficially ‘polite, its when they’re ready and with an attitude. I loved it! Photographs of diner and food on:
