First off, the owner and staff here are awesome. Very cool people, super accommodating as well. The building is spacious, lovely high ceilings and low music that make it a good spot to focus. Tables vary in size so you can work solo or with a group. Almost every table has an outlet within reach. Also has an outdoor seating area for the warmer months! I don’t drink coffee, but I can comment on the food. The food is delicious. The sandwiches are way better than any of the chain cafes that Seattle is know for, because instead of reheating preassembled sandwiches, they make it when you order it. It takes a little longer, but it’s totally worth it.

If you are looking for a quiet café where you can get some work done and have a cup of coffee, this is the place! I usually get the drip which is pretty good. There are plenty of tables and chairs so you can hang out for as long as it takes to finish your work. Also free parking in the back is a big plus for me!

The espresso was extremely bitter(burnt actually) and the service more so. I asked for a short Cappuccino for here(i.e. In a ceramic cup), but was served on paper cup. When I politely asked for a ceramic cup I was dismissed quite rudely by the barista. Needless to say, I’m never going back…

Everyone was SONICE! Let me let that sink in– baristas, in Seattle, were warm and welcoming. Combined with a comfy space and a $ 5 Americans/breakfast sandwich combo, and I know I’ll be back!

AMAZING! I’m a Seattle local, born and raised, and Caffe Appassionato has hands down, the best coffee in Seattle. Its only a few minutes away from downtown, its worth the trip! You will NOT be disappointed!

Hands down, the best place to sit and relax with your laptop, knitting project, or newspaper. It has the best, most ample seating in Wallingford(why would you pack in to Fuel with snooty baristas or Starbucks and get jostled every 3 seconds by a suited businessman on his way out the door?) and the most chill staff. I go in frequently(they have some of the best taps pouring in the hood) and no matter how busy it gets, the staff stays efficient, friendly(the chat at you while they work!), and CHILL. I’ve never seen them harried or stressed. It’s the culture around there that basically keeps me comfortable and coming back. They have limited food options, so vegans can grab a Molly’s wrap. If you’re looking for a spot to hang out, get caffeinated, maybe temper it with a brew, and possibly get some work done without being overwhelmed by passers by and overly chatty soccer moms… THISISTHEPLACE. Done.

I’ve been a fan of Café Appassionato’s coffee for a while now, but I’ve never actually been into one of their cafes. I’ve driven by this place on the way to school several times and then when I needed a quiet place to study one night, I stopped by. There was plenty of space and a very laid-back vibe. It even has beer on tap which could make studying difficult if you aren’t focused. The café also has a video game night and move night every week which is pretty awesome and I hope to stop by for one of them some time. If you want some good coffee and a laid back place to drink it, check out Café Appassionato.

Really enjoyed this spot! I liked the selection of music that was played, which I’m told will vary depending on the barista working. The space was clean and bright and I really loved the high ceilings! Multiple outlets all around for all the working folk. Breakfast sandwich and double americano special was a pretty good deal and there’s tapatio if you need something to spice it up. I don’t have coffee shop/alcohol combo places in my parts, so this theme was interesting. It looks like they have some nice specials and it would be a killer place to catch up with a friend over some beverages.

Food was okay. What was disgusting was that the staff member who took my mom’s order was eating his lunch while preparing our food. He took bites between handling the food AND he was chewing gum as well! When my mom finally got her food it was nice and hot, but she felt uncomfortable eating it because of the lack of hygiene in the café. This staff member also showed favoritism toward the lady in front of us. He brought her food all the way out to her table and chatted with her for a few minutes. When my mom’s food was ready, he just rudely shouted for us to pick it up at the counter. I was extremely disappointed and frankly disgusted that this place would violate health codes like that.

Really nice atmosphere and great place for students to study(big tables!) I didn’t get a chance to try the happy hour and drinks, but its seems like it would be a good deal I did try the root beer float and it was waaaay over priced. $ 4.60 for root beer float that was pre-frozen and made in a plastic cup(so the soda was very flat) is totally not worth it. On the bright side, I will come here again for the good studying(but not especially for the food or drink)

Felt like I was cheating on our usual weekend go-to(Eltana) but Caffee Appassionato definitely has a place in my heart, I will tell you why. Cool atmosphere/décor/music, around 6 beers on tap which is just cool(a sign that says $ 3 mannys, not sure if that is true), awesome coffee, great location(corner of stone and 45th), friendly service, patio AND. A double americano + breakfast sandwich combo for $ 5. We went twice last weekend. They also have killer themed nights which I need to check out(Wine, movie, game to name a few).

What a lovely coffee shop. that also serves beer and wine! I feel like this would be a killer idea in Philadelphia(my old home). They don’t really have places like this back east. The staff is extremely friendly and laid back. The actual café isn’t that big, but has gorgeous high ceilings and local art displayed. There’s always great music on the speakers. And I have yet to experience, but it appears to have an awesome little night life with fun activities. I’ve been coming here everyday since moving to Wallingford and I don’t see that changing anytime soon!

I am stingy with my stars(rarely giving out 4s) but that is a bit miserly so here it is: a 4-star café! Bear in mind, I am no coffee connoisseur and I don’t understand or appreciate coffee snobs(or snobs in general), so this review isn’t really about the coffee quality. When it comes to cafes, there are a few key things I look for: — ease of access/parking availability: GREAT. this place is easy to find(right on the corner) and plenty of parking out back or on the residential streets. — smell: i hate spending all day in a café and then smelling like a panini grill for the next 58 hours. I think because of the AWESOMELY high ceilings at this place, the smell isn’t as concentrated. Coffee smells great in your cup, not seeped into your pores. — music: some places are horrible when it comes to music choice and they play things that no one has ever heard of(there’s a reason for that…) This place is just fine. Not too loud and occasionally, they play jams that I know. Don’t mind if I sing along. — Outlet access: i’m SO glad this place has caught on that electronics are abundant nowadays and unfortunately, no one has figured out a way to make battery power last forever. Thus, people need outlets to charge their ipads and ipods and ibooks and i-whatevers. LOTS of outlets here. — noise: nice and quiet. for the most part, people come to sit quietly and do work, which is GREAT. sometimes there are people who have been cursed with terrible laughs and it affects the people around them because it hurts to hear those people laugh, but people who have terrible laughs need to go to cafes too. I always get drip and that tastes fine here. It’s also cheaper than the many, many other cafes I’ve been to.

I’ve fooled around with many a coffee bean back in my day, but I’ve finally settled down with the Appassionato«Morning Passion» blend. It’s deep, rich roast is perfect for my first morning cup of coffee. I don’t want to wake up with anyone else. That being said, I much prefer going to the store than purchasing the beans online. Having tried that several times, I was frustrated with the slow response time(it took at least 2 weeks to get a shipment of beans and there was no follow up — ie. We’re out of stock right now, we’ll answer you in a few days, etc.) This spot can get busy on weekends, but it’s a nice big space with lots of light. Parking(as with finding a seat) really is a challenge with this location — much better to walk here.

This coffee shop is located in a great location, Stone Way N and N 45th Street. There are high ceilings in this place, and there is a decent amount of seating. There aren’t as many couches as there are random tables dispersed around, though. I tried a vanilla cappucino. They did a nice job on the foam — it was extremely foamy, but the bottom part was a bit of a mess. I really wanted to taste the espresso but all I could taste was the vanilla shot. It was a bit gross, actually. If I come back, I will try it again either as a latte and/or without the flavoring. Another gripe I had was their free wi-fi. For some reason I was getting really awful connection speeds and a lot of web pages timed out on me. It was just a lot easier for me to go back to the data plan. They also have a beer list too, and movie nights on Fridays with popcorn.

Atmosphere: Excellent. 20 foot ceilings and very clean. They dim the lights in the evening and have great music. Drinks: Coffe is well made and beer is priced well. Can’t beat $ 3.00 Mannys. Location: Perfect. Right downtown Wallingford. Service: Everyone is always friendly and you can tell they enjoy their work. No hipster baristas here!

This place is fantastic! It is the perfect combination of two different atmospheres. On one hand, you have an awesome, low-key coffee shop, and on the other hand you have a great bar with an excellent selection of hand-picked(mostly NW) beers with eight(count em’, 8!) rotating taps. The coffee is always masterfully crafted by their skilled barista artists(artistas?!) and the service is unparalleled. It’s no wonder this place has so many dedicated regulars. The employees are all friendly, enthusiastic and well-groomed. Check them out on Fridays for movie nights(when they project the film onto a large wall) or on Tuesdays for arcade nights at the bar(they have Nintendo, Super NES, Sega, Atari and even a game boy!). Definitely the go-to spot in Wallingford for all of your working, studying and drinking needs. Also I work here.

I was so happy when Caffe Appassionato moved into the neighborhood. Since the location used to house a Starbucks coffee shop, it’s spacious inside, and boasts a wheelchair accessible bathroom. With an ATM nearby, it’s a handy stop when I’m depositing my checks or getting some cash for the weekend. The coffee has always been good, but not amazing.

I worked in bars/restaurants for a long, long time. Maybe that’s obvious in my reviews, if not, know you know. I’ve served a lot of ~regulars~ over the years, and until Appassionato, I’ve never really been one myself. Maybe a few places here and there, but nothing consistent like how I feel here. This place is where I want to be a ~regular.~ I think my punchcard is slowly showing that!!! It’s my weekend ritual to come here for coffee. Their roast is so delicious somehow I’ve been able to not drown it in sweeteners and milk like I used to do to Starbucks before I saw the light. Their egg/cheese melts are really delicious too. They put them on the grill to warm them up to order, so they’re cheesy and crispy and hot and soo delicious. They also have organic sandwiches and smoothies available too for the families about to hit up nearby Green Lake or the BGTrail. Service is friendly and chill, as are the patrons. What’s not to love?
