Yes its a little cramped, but the baristas are nice. If you are nice to them! I like anything carmel!!! Occasionally I get a small bite, but can’t remember it being good or bad. I’m surprised of all the lesser reviews, its not that bad. Wifi works, though I don’t abuse it like some people, ha. I have an office, so I don’t feel the need to make mine here. Greg, think thats his name always is eager to get my order right, if not the first time. No complaints!

It’s small and cramped. Seems to get full quickly because of this. Not very many outlets to do work. This would be a place to get your coffee to-go.

great coffee. agree with the other comments about the 1 barista guy — very aggressive. the other baristas are excellent. The wifi is flakier than a french croissant.

I work in the area and have gone here regularly for the past year or so. I guess I like people to treat me badly. Most everyone there is great, but that hippie dude everyone complains about is one of the nastiest people I’ve encountered. Don’t go on weekends and get your coffee to go. I made the mistake of trying to get some work done there once and had that guy talk crap about me to the other barrista in front of my face. Despite the fact that I’m quite conscientious of ordering at least once an hour(more than just a drink). But whatever, I clearly rubbed him the wrong way. Everyone else there is a dear.

My biggest desire as a Unilocal user is to give good, helpful, honest reviews. I came here for the first time today, and the music was absolutely assaulting. Like, horrible dissonant garbage punk. I cordially and kindly asked the barista to change the music, which they did after telling me that it’s «usually up to the barista what gets played». I had to explain that I came here to study, and that it’s not my intention to offend their taste, but the music wasn’t conducive to the experience I wanted. The music they put on next was definitely less unenjoyable. The bottom line is that it’s never about what the business or staff wants as much as it’s about the customer’s experience. I highly recommend that whoever manages this place sets a standard for the music, as a customer it’s absolutely u comfortable to have to ask the barista to change the music to something more tasteful and conducive to a pleasant experience. Here in Seattle, getting an espresso that’s pretty good is easy. Actually creating an experience that is great is entirely different. Also, my Gibraltar was good. Next time I got out for coffee in my neighborhood, I’m going to Storyville coffee(located right across the street). **Edit: after spending some time here, another customer can that left their dog tied up outside to continuously bark for 20+ minutes. The barista proceeded to go nothing about this obviously annoying situation. This is officially probably the worst coffee/espresso experience I’ve had in Seattle.

After hearing so many great thinks about this caffe I was excited to go check it out. When I arrived I was met with terrible customer service. The service made me feel so terrible, I purchased my drink and left it at the table. Never going back.

Aside from two other people, right now, the place is virtually empty. I just spent $ 9.31 + tip on a 12 oz coffee and a quiche. I sat down to get some work done on my laptop. The staff changes soon after, and a hippie looking dude with glasses and a headband comes in to take over the shift. An hour later he comes up and asks me if I’ve made a purchase. I told him that I did. His response: How long ago was that? Me: An hour and thirty minutes ago. Him *knocking on the table*: We require you to make a purchase every hour and thirty minutes, so you’re right on the mark. Guess what? I was about to get up and buy a scone. You just lost a paying customer. I’ve been here for two hours *at most* and I already spent $ 10. I will do my best to spread the word about your micromanaging baristas, and would suggest that you do something to fix the issue. As in — fire this passive aggressive jerk.

Excellent coffee and friendly service marred by poorly maintained seating area and low quality food. If Storyville across the street is still open then go there for an amazing atmosphere and far better coffee and food. The new Starbucks has a much better atmosphere too but the coffee is better here.

If you haven’t heard of caffe Ladro yet, lets just say its a staple Seattle Espresso Shop. Locally roasted bean with intense flavor just us Seattlites prefer it. Great joint to get lattes or other drinks. Specific to this shop: Its small and in a brink building that tends to condensate when the doors are closed(usually at night or a cold day). So I warn you, if you do happen to get a spot which typically place is so packed that it its really hard to find one, it does get a little stuffy due to the nature of having a coffee shop in a really old small building. Bottom Line: if you can deal with the cramped location, Caffe Ladro provides one of the city’s best espresso.

I“m a fan of Ladro, and it’s mainly because of one thing: Spicy Chai. Delicious. I crave that spicy chai. I sometimes even dream about it. Ladro is a great small coffee shop. They clearly care about their craft, their baked goods and their customers. I’ve always had a good experience. But seriously. Get the spicy chai.

I just go for the vegan granola bars! I’m not even vegan or vegetarian, and I’m a pastry chef. They are just always so good!

I have had the coffee and the chai here and both are very good. Nice place to sit and have a good read of the newspaper on a Sunday afternoon.

Very good coffee. Ok pastries. The Medici mocha is very good and the Orange zest is a nice pairing.

This was my first time here and won’t be my last. Super friendly staff, a nice variety — I got the spicy chai– with Almond Milk(which delighted me because I do not see that offered as often), and they have a variety of pastries. Ranging from Vegan, gluten free, and the other wheat/sugar filled goodness. I got the Raspberry brownie bite and the Cranberry bread. I will be back as many times as I can. For those that want to stay and chill in there, there are tables and little nooks to veg out in and read or do work and just enjoy the atmosphere.

Ok, update. Hopefully that barista that served us last time we came left. We had a delightful barista named Sam not only prepare us some wonderful Roobi Slipper tea but he kept us company & got to know one another a bit. We felt warmly welcomed & right at home. That’s a true Ladro experience. Thank you, Sam! You’re a great worker – you deserve a raise for your above & beyond service!

The coffee is great and the pastries are good too! Baristas are friendly, efficient and always play good music. They have a back deck which is great when it’s sunny. They also have a few free parking spots in back which can be accessed through the alley. If you come here regularly, buy a pre-paid coffee card because you will earn free drinks!

Good coffee and all(although I’m pretty sure there ended up being no peppermint in my peppermint mocha), but like another reviewer mentioned, THEMUSICISSOBAD. My headphones were good enough to save me, but seriously, I won’t be back to do work here because I cannot handle anymore Nickleback, Creed, John Mayer, or 3 Doors Down. It’s killing my soul. Save yourselves, folks. Get your coffee, and get out quick. Good luck and god speed.

I love Café Ladro, it’s easily my favorite coffee shop in Seattle, but their Upper Queen Anne location consistently suffers from inferior Baristas for some reason. It’s odd because just a ways away at their Lower Queen Anne location, the Baristas are always stellar. Maybe it’s a product of the Upper Queen Anne atmosphere, but the Baristas are often rude at this location, but far worse than that, they tend to have terrible music taste — and far, far worse, they play their really crappy music so loud I can’t block it out with noise-canceling headphones :( The worst of the bunch is the smaller, aging, male rocker-type guy that works weekends, often wearing all black and circular shades — he’s a real dick. On the other hand, the really tall guy w/white plugs in his ears is SUPER nice, and a pro behind the espresso machine.

The coffee here is ok, not the best as per Seattle standards. Coffee = Great Service = Seattle style with snotty, hipster looking barista’s. Atmosphere = Queen Anne neighborhood café! My favorite drink is Medici, blended.

I came in to try their mochas, which as you know is espresso, steamed milk, and mocha(chocolate) syrup or powder. A short cup of mocha was $ 3.75 pre-tax. I am not sure what I drank, but it sure did not taste like mocha to me. I tasted pretty much zero percent chocolate and mostly warm milk. I could not even taste the espresso that much, either. It kind of just felt like drinking warm frothy milk with the slightest hint of espresso flavor and that was it. Too bad. The staff here seem very Seattle: beanies, beards, and/or glasses. It’s not a bad thing, but that’s how it is. The environment is cool though. Very dim and has these crazy big fans. It looks great against the backdrop of the grey Seattle skies.
