It was a bit cold when we got there but they turned the heater on for a bit then it got cold again. Thank god for a good selection of wine to warm the blood up. But the food was good, even when the waitress kept breaking glasses. I would come back, but with a huge warm sweater… after all its capital hill

I came here with my girlfriends to celebrate a birthday for 2 of them. It was one of the best services I’ve ever had at restaurants. Foods were great too. We ordered some of happy hour menu– Bruschetta with portobello mushrooms, Calamari, Fusilli with spicy sausage, and Cesar salad, and some from the regular dinner menu– Vongole and Cioppino. They were all good especially the Bruschetta and the Calamari. I will definitely come back. Thank you for your awesome service!

I had an enjoyable and tasty experience at this restaurant! really loved the location. you can find it easily since its at the center of broadway, capitol hill, near vivace, Roys coffee and QFC. all the good places. First, I really loved the vibe. Although the restaurants offered classic italian dishes, it had somewhat casual environments but still in nice and sophisticated mood. The food was awesome. great varieties in appetizers, entrees and deserts. havent tried all but bet they are all awesome. For entrée, I had a breaded porkchop and bongole pasta. Both my girl friend and I really enjoyed them. Then, we had tiramisu for desert, it was a breath-taker. Defintely, great place to date and to have a beer with your friends.

What a great spot! Prices are reasonable and the food is pretty good too. We lucked out and they happened to have Happy Hour all day on Monday and Tuesdays so we were able to order off of that and the main menu. Portion sizes from HH seem to be pretty similar too. The bruschetta is pretty good. I wasn’t a huge fan of the clam dish. They bring good bread and olive oil with balsamic too. The house salad was sadly a disappointment. It was soaked in dressing and quite bland. The entrees were all pretty good. I enjoyed the tiramisu a lot!

What a cute little place in Cap Hill! Three of us went out for a girls’ holiday dinner last week and found it super charming. The owner, an odd little Asian man, noted our reservation and offered us a choice of sitting in the middle of the room or in a darkened corner. We chose the former. The weird part was we saw other tables with ‘reserved’ signs on them, but we didn’t have a ‘reserved’ table. Our waiter was his cute, jovial, friendly nephew who is also a wizard in the bar. He made us the most delicious chocolate espresso cocktails– but drink up quick before the gin takes over! BTW– ALLDAY Happy Hour on Monday and Tuesdays. They have a great selection of appetizers and smaller portions of certain entrees available. Since we went on a Tuesday, we took advantage of their HH and ordered calamari and steamed mussels and clams. Both were excellent. The calamari is accompanied by a particularly tasty, slightly spicy aioli. Be sure to save some of the bread from the bread basket to soak up the yummy broth that comes with the shellfish. They give you 2 grilled slices of bread with the bowl, but, c’mon, that’s not enough for the broth! For entrees, we got the Carbonara, Bolognese, and a HH portion of the butternut squash ravioli(3 raviolis vs. full entrée 5 raviolis). They were all delicious. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauces flavorful. The ravioli was a little on the sweet side for my taste, but I prefer my pastas savory. I loved the poached egg on top of the carbonara– it lets you mix in extra richness from the egg yolk but the pasta was not overpowered because it was very lightly sauced(or the sauce wasn’t laden with cream to begin with). We ended the night with a shared tiramisu, which was the perfect size to finish off our meal. Would love to try the cannoli next time! Totally come by and check this place out! The owner used to own Café on the Ave before selling and setting up shop here. It’s got great ambiance and décor and staff. And delicious, filling food. What’s not to love?

Three and a half stars but rounding up. Carbonara pasta was not my favorite at first but grew on me. My bf said the same about his Fettuccini. Bread service was excellent. Service was good if not overly apologetic.(Not suggesting you change it, even if unnecessary). Rounding up. Would come back. Happy hour food selection sounds quite good. I think they stopped their attempt at brunch but that was overpriced.(Two tiny pancakes for 11 dollars. The fruit bar did not justify the price. Sad that I think you might not do brunch anymore though)

I came here the other night with my sister and friend for our early holiday dinner. When we walked in we were acknowledged quickly and waited a couple minutes before we were seated. Even though we made reservations beforehand we thought it was weird that we saw«Reserved» signs on a couple of the tables but we were asked to choose either a table close to the entrance or all the way in the back corner with no reserve sign on either. Our waiter/the bartender was super friendly and greeted us quickly and gave us a few minutes to look over the menus. It was a nice surprise to hear that the have happy hour all day Monday and Tuesday(we were there on Tuesday) so we were able to order a couple appetizers off the happy hour menu to start — calamari and the clams and muscles dish. Both appetizers were good and we especially liked the broth in the clams and muscles dish. For our entrees I ordered the butternut squash ravioli(happy hour portion which came with three pieces but if you ordered the regular size it comes with five pieces). I’m glad I ordered the smaller dish because the filling was really good but a little on the rich/sweet side for me to have eaten five. My sister and friend ordered the Fettaccine Alla Carbonara and the Rigatoni Bolegnese. They both enjoyed their dishes as well. Our waiter was also very accommodating when it came to our drinks. My friend explained she wanted something warm with chocolate and coffee and he custom made a very tasty drink for her that my sister ended up ordering as well because it was so good. For dessert we shared the tiramisu, which was also very delicious and perfect way to end our meal. Overall the restaurant was nice and intimate with nice décor as well. We were very impressed by how friendly and happy our waiter was. He also told us that the owner(his uncle) used to own the Café on the Ave restaurant which they sold and then opened up Corretto recently. I would highly recommend you come check out this Italian place!

Nice Italian place on Cap Hill that’s great for a chill date night. They have happy hours often(and all day Monday and Tuesday) so you don’t have to break the bank for that date night. We had the portabella bruschetta, ricotta gnocchi with pesto, butternut squash ravioli, and carbonara. The portabella bruschetta was delicious although a little overwhelmingly balsamic-y, so if you’re not into balsamic vinegar I’d go with the regular bruschetta. The ricotta gnocchi was soft and delicious, and the pesto was on point. The favorites were definitely the butternut squash ravioli and the carbonara, though. Service is quick and friendly, and I like how unpretentious this place is. I’ll definitely be back to do happy hour again.

Corretto! Finally a restaurant on Capitol Hill that isn’t just all about being hipster. The food is actually amazing! We walked into this small restaurant and didn’t have huge expectation but they sure delivered. The man that runs the front end is very nice. He gave us a choice of two tables that were open; it was very busy. The drinks are average and the wine list is good enough for me. The food is really what to write home about. It’s fresh fresh fresh. Everything from the hand crafted pasta to the light but delicious sauces. Awe have tried all appetizers on the menu in the past few weeks and there’s nothing that we wouldn’t reorder. Calamari is really special, as is the bruschetta. But they are on the small side so I’d say over order.(Gives you a chance to try more anyway). Also they’re very reasonably priced. Service is amazing for how busy they get. There’s usually two or three on the food; man at the front helps out the wait staff as well. There’s typically two or three bartenders working the small bar. They make fresh bread which they immediately bring our with your drinks. The olive oil and balsamic must be imported from Italy. It’s the best I’ve had in the US. Desserts — we have had the Cannoli both times because they’re so crisp with a light center. I’m sure the others are on par with that. Corretto means«to correct» or something of such in Italian. They are correcting the espresso here. We tried it(which they’re famous for) but it really wasn’t for us. Everything else… 5 star worthy any day. — note: they have music on Friday evenings by a local violinist which really adds to the joint.

I would reserve Corretto for one of those nights you just don’t really care and want some really good pasta — Our waitress made the experience feel like we were a burden on her(«omg I’m so tired» kinda thing, very immature) To start we ordered the olives and the waitress came out with a complimentary bread basket filled with sub-par focaccia and Wonder bread. The olives actually tasted like soap. Moving on to the cocktails, pretty standard although both(Negroni and Mule) were served with about 2 cups of ice. We brought our own bottle for a $ 20 corking fee. Salad: Ordered the Caesar– I could have made a better one at home. Romaine carelessly throw on the plate with store bought croutons. The pasta was the only saving grace to this meal. I ordered the Penne and it was plump and al dente and the sauce was incredible I needed more Wonder bread to soak it up. TLDR; Bring your own bottle of wine and ONLY get the pasta.

Great Italian restaurant! The gnocchi with the pesto was delicious; super fresh — both in terms of raw ingredients and the pasta/sauce themselves. The butternut squash raviolis and the meatball appetizers were decent. If I came back, I would definitely get an entrée with marinara sauce. The Bellini cocktail was not great — too sweet and the soju after taste doesn’t mix well with the Italian food. Their red wines were very good, though. Service was fast and friendly and I found it to be a good value in Capitol Hill. Would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for good Italian food!

One of the best Italian places in Seattle I’ve ever been to. The service was fantastic, free bread and oil with balsamic and the dishes themselves were all fantastic. I’ve been afraid to try Italian in Seattle since moving here because they’ve all been quite bad but it was great. My chicken Alfredo was great and the carbonara with egg was also great! Highly recommend!

It’s really a 3.5 star kinda place but I’m reluctantly rounding this up to a 4. What’s great about this place is happy hour. All days on Mondays, from 5 — 6 pm and from 10 to close every day. Aaaand half priced bottles of wine on Wednesdays. So that’s great and all but I’ve given this place a few tries and I have yet to be wowed by the food. Don’t get me wrong — it’s not bad! It’s kinda good… But they frequently miss the mark. Even my boyfriend who cares about food only half as much as I do noted that their meatballs were on the side of unspectacular. They frankly needed some browning to the meat. There were a few other food items that felt that way. They were okayyyyy but they had the potential to be so much better with one or two tweaks. Still, I love Italian food(and there’s a dearth of stuff I approve of in Capitol Hill) and this stuff is decent and a good value! Also, their service is always so friendly. They’re so great I was almost too ashamed to write a less than stellar review of the place… Maybe this is why I rounded up.

I am still in awe of this restaurant. First of all, I love the vibe. Very chill, lounge type of feel. The food was amazing! I had the carbonara and am still dreaming about it. The chef did an amazing job of developing the flavors of this dish. My friend also had the butternut squash ravioli and that was delicious. We also tried the bellini and the bellini fusion. I could not have been happier with that decision. We were also fortunate on a Friday night to be serenaded by a very talented violinists. We ended the night with the crostata and it was a perfect ending. I can not rave about this place enough. I will definitely be back soon!

Five full stars and would have given 6 if I could. Resturant week was happening in Seattle and a long list of restaurants were offering three-course dinner for $ 30. A thorough search led us to Corretto, a small cozy restaurant in the heart of Capitol hill that serves Italian food. Our party decided to choose from the Restaurant week menu. It was a Wednesday and our waiter told us wine bottles are half off. We decided to each go with a different drink and I ordered a Bellini fusion; tasted superb. We each tried a sip of everybody else’s drink at the table and I loved them all. Bread basket was served shortly with oil and vinegar; the bread was so soft and tasty that we devoured the whole thing in a heart beat. Our waiter soon came back with a second basket and sure enough we could not say no to it. As an appetizer, I ordered meatballs and some ordered the clam and mussels, meatballs were perfectly seasoned and cooked and we almost killed each other for the clams broth. Entrée was lamb chops, beautifully garnished, perfectly cooked and seasoned well. Sometime through the dinner, the owner«Jason» approached us and asked how we were doing. Our faces were telling him how happy we were with our food… No need to say a word!!! :) By the time the panna cotta and tiramisu arrived, I barely had any room left for dessert, but they were irresistible, tiramisu was moist and perfect. It says a lot when you try many different dishes and drinks at a restaurant and there is not even one miss. Everything was perfect, the service was stellar and I enjoyed it so much that I thought I want to be back really soon and order the same things all over again. Good job Corretto…

Practically a perfect breakfast. Had the Broadway breakfast with eggs, wheat toast, potatoes, and sausage. Everything was cooked so well that I was actually confused. Just didn’t seem real. Gave me free fruit with homemade cream and also an apple fritter. Freshly squeezed OJ. Just perfect. At first the Katie Perry playing in the background was surprising. In the end, I found it actually improved my mood!

One of my favorites in the area. I come here for happy hour often, especially when they have it going all night. Mondays I think? Happy hour or not, it’s a great little restaurant, often not super crowded when I’ve been, but it does get very busy! I often start with the caesar. It’s always fresh with nice crisp romaine, crunchy croutons, lots of cheese, some lemon wedges, all with a nice tangy dressing, and you can actually taste the anchovy, yum! They have a few basic pastas on happy hour that are delicious, but my favorite for dinner is the carbonara. The pasta is fresh and perfectly cooked, sauce is nice and creamy, and the fresh poached egg on top really makes it. Yum! Their house wines are great, cocktails are refreshing, and they have some great variety when it comes to apéritifs and digestifs. Also love to finish with a coffee… and maybe, just maybe. tiramisu!

Mama Mia!!! WOW! Came here for dinner the other night and it was super delicious! I like the place, good amount of space, some outdoor seating, bar area, opened doors to catch a breeze and especially wonderful food. Complimentary bread to start your meal(focaccia and ???) is given with a nice presentation with the oil & vinegar. We decided to start the off with a Cesare: freshly made, cold & crisp romaine, you can definitely taste anchovy, good amount of lemon with shaved parmigiano cheese and some croutons. Very good salad and a perfect way to start. As for our mains we got the Rigatoni Bolognese: freshly cooked pasta, the bolognese sauce was delicious, good amount of sausage & beef, nice tomato flavor, was able to mow it down with no problem. Also we got the Fettucine Carbonara: whoa! nicely poached egg on top so the yolk runs into the fresh made pasta, good amount of pancetta, good amount of cheese, garlicky, quite rich but super delicious! Definitely need to get this again! Service was fine, no issues there, prices were fine as well, ambiance was great, and a place definitely to come back to. With it being a fairly new restaurant, we were concerned that there was not many people in the restaurant around 630pm, but we walked by later around 8pm or so and it was packed. Nice job! Guess all the cool people eat later as we were catching the early bird.

Man, I love Italian. We are pretty fortunate to have myriad options in Portland for some really lovely, homemade, downright perfect Italian fare. Maybe I set the bar a bit high, but I had mixed feeling about Coretto. As far as the space itself, it is a very cute and cozy space. The service was inconsistent, our server was busy and the restaurant understaffed. When she was able to stop by she was very good, friendly and would make suggestions. The biggest mishap was that we finished our first course before our drinks even came, which is pretty ridiculous. The food itself was pretty good. The caprese bruschetta was good, but at two pieces for $ 6.50 a bit overpriced. My sauteed kale salad with pancetta and a poached egg on top was the best dish I had all night– delicious! I had a bite of the lasagna others ordered and it was quite good, not too heavy or extravagant. My penne alla amatriciana had a nice flavor, the pasta did not taste freshly made. When in Rome, right? When it comes to ordering a corretti I would pass unless you’re a big fan of espresso with a spirit of some variety. My La Piccola Bestia(gin, chocolate liqueur, cream, espresso) was the best of the three that we ordered if you do decide to give it a go.

If you happen to be looking for a place on the hill that serves more than just boring bar food, Corretto is the place to be. I came here at 5PM(the start of HH) hoping for some deals on apps/drinks, but I didn’t think the prices were remarkably cheaper than the other menu items. However, I do think that the regular menu items are well priced for the large portion sizes. I decided to start with the insalta di casa, which featured a lightly sautéed bed of treviso and kale in a chili balsamic vinaigrette. It was topped with a peppered poached egg and crispy pancetta. Everything about this starter worked in perfect synchrony — the tartness of the dressing, the hint of spice from the chili and the saltiness of the pancetta. I’m not a huge fan of salads, but I’ll definitely be making the trek through Seattle traffic for this one. For my entrée, I ordered the penne alla amatriciana. The pasta was basic, but delightfully tasty. A light, but rich pomodoro sauce cooked with chili peppers, garlic and fresh parmigiano. Oh, and best of all — pancetta! The dish arrived to the table piping hot… mmm! I’m already thinking about my next visit! The other menu items sound promising and I can’t wait to try them all!
