Crate & Barrel

Wanted to give a shout out to Paul and Kim at University Village Crate and Barrel! Last weekend, Kim awesomely helped me locate some back-​ordered items from another store. And Paul, for the second time, went above and beyond with fantastic customer service! Couldn’t be more pleased. I LOVE great customer service and these guys are great!

Crate and Barrel has a great selection of contemporary housewares. Especially things like glasses, serve ware, dishes, and decorative items that you burn though and rotate out. I like their furniture selection and they always have great seasonal items to choose from. Their kitchenware is a bit typical and mass market but there is an occasional find in their selection. Otherwise I usually look elsewhere for these. But all in all, a good spot to find stuff to stock your home.

As most stores move towards a more customer friendly approach and easier returns (like Nordstrom) crate and barrel has made their new policy the exact opposite. No returns without a receipt. Doesn’t matter if the item has a tag but if you don’t have a receipt you are stuck with the item. All those poor people with wedding gifts from registries and receiving random household items for birthdays and holidays. Now you are stuck with these items or as the store clerk so helpfully shared with me. «You can re gift it.» So at least someone else will be stuck with it. Great. I would like to add more to my rant but those words would probably be taken down anyway.

LOVE crate and barrel. We have found some great drink mixing tools here, adorable aprons, functional crafes and more here. We will continue to shop here. I recommend for seasonal items and patio furniture.

Crate and Barrel in u district is great albeit understaffed. I waited for a good 20 minutes to pick up an online order. The one annoying thing was that they don’t offer gift wrapping. Which is surprising because they are pretty popular for wedding registries.

Good estimates on delivery, on time and great communication about status of order through out process.

We just purchased a couch from the Bellevue Crate and Barrel. The experience was great! The sales staff in the store were very helpful and informative. When the couch was delivered, the delivery men were very professional making sure the product was in perfect condition upon delivery and ensuring it was a smooth and easy process. I also love their glassware and many other items. One of my favorite stores!

I stopped by the U-​Village Crate and Barrel to browse around and was impressed with the selection on the first floor. They have a ton of stuff to choose from, and they all seem to be decent quality. But even more impressive is how they have helpful posters detailing the different characteristics of some of their glassware. I found them to be very helpful.
If you’re looking for some decent quality dining or kitchenware, then I would recommend checking out Crate and Barrel.

There are so many cute things in here! I have never been to this store before. Was really impressed with everything they had.

I ordered some items from the website for store pickup, which the website clearly showed as available in the U-​Village store. That afternoon I received an email from the store telling me the items were out of stock and it would be at least a month before they got them from the warehouse. As such, I had them cancel the order. AFTER having cancelled the order, the rep told me that if I ordered them from the warehouse, I could have them in 3 – 5 days, but if I wanted to use the gift cards I’d applied to the original order, I’d have to wait 5 – 7 business days while they mailed me a replacement card from Chicago.
I’m going to wait for the card, I’m going to order these items directly, and then I’m never going to shop at Crate & Barrel ever again. This is ridiculously poor service, both from the store and the website.
I could’ve ordered the same items from Amazon for the same price and had them in two days.

I love this store. Is it crazy expensive? Yes… on the second floor.
I’ve bought many items in here over the years mostly from the first floor. I can’t afford these couches and beds up there but I have bought cute small items to add to my more mid-​range furniture at home (ha!).
I splurged on my super fluffy pillows here and I have no regrets. After all, I sleep on those every night!
I also loveeee my cast iron dutch oven by Lodge I bought here. It’s now discontinued but it was a Crate & Barrel exclusive and at $ 40, it was a total steal!
Finally,. I love my Camille wine glasses (Scandal shout out!) and the glassware and kitchen sections in general.
This is also a great place to buy gifts for the home décor maven, foodie or friend who just enjoys the finer things in life!
Their most impressive: everytime I come in and ask for help, they are awesome. I have come in and said «ok I am in a hurry and need a gift under $xx right now. Can you help me?» and off she went! When I was buying my dutch oven, I took forever selecting something. Ok fine: I took two days but they went over every single type of pot and pan with me. When I bought my pillows, I took the longest time deciding between their different ones. I even sent the lady to the stock room to bring something, then sent her back to switch it and they were SO helpful and patient the whole time.
Don’t be intimidated by the brand: visit this Crate & Barrel and don’t forget to bring me a gift! ;)

I rarely walk into a place and think, «I want to spend all of my money here.» And then this happens when I walk into C&B:
«OOOOOooohhhh, all of the pretty shiny things!»
My partner made a comment about my need for a butter bowl and Maslow’s hierarchy. I pretended not to understand.
Anyway, this store is great. People are always friendly and helpful. They also wrap all of the breakables super well. I also appreciate that they have contemporary everyday items at prices that are affordable. They’ve got plenty that’s expensive, too, but they can woo me aplenty at $ 3.95.

I came to U-​Village mid-​day with a very specific need: Three baskets with exact dimensions made of rattan or wicker.
My first stop was Storables where everything was either too large or made of fabric.
I came into Crate & Barrel and immediately Andrea asked if I needed help. She walked me to all the baskets, helped me measure, and we found the perfect totes that also happened to be on a great sale! She ran to the back to help find more stock and being made of natural materials, there were some variations between a couple of the totes and she was very patient and seemed genuinely interested in helping me find 3 that matched the most!!!
I am very happy with the prices, selection, and service I received during my visit here!

We purchased some furniture from here yesterday — I love the Crate and Barrell style! It’s modern but not too modern — they have a good variety as well. We easily found a kitchen table, chairs, coffee table, bed and dresser. The salesperson was also very helpful and nice. I like that the parking garage is right next to the store so it is very easy to get to, unlike some other parts of University Village which are far from the parking garage!

LOVE this place… I mean L-​O-​V-​E this place. I want everything in it.
For as many associates on the floor (both assisting customers and NOT), I was surprised they weren’t greeting people as they passed.
I was able to find my items and check out fairly quick, even with the Christmas crowds.
Simple greetings aren’t hard… Just sayin.

I’ve gotten lots of nice housewares from this Crate and Barrel location for a decent prices. The sales staff are usually pretty helpful, and if I need gift ideas or if I am looking for that odd kitchen item they will point me right to it. I love to browse too but this location gets busy, especially this time of year (holidays) so maybe scope out your planned purchases online first.

I’m not a dawdler. I know what I need to buy and I don’t mess around. I go check out what’s on the list and go git it. I’m not the type that decides to throw in a package of ding dongs or twinkies along the way.
That said, it’s fun to walk around a bit here and buy some stems. I don’t have the best hands in the world and will bust stuff right and left. So, I can come in here, buy some glasses and not flush tons of cash down the toilet when I go home and break a few glasses here and there. (I know, I’ve just been disinvited from all of your homes.)
Aside from the crowds, I think I could hang out here for a bit.

I am a fan of Crate & Barrel (C&B) from way back. When I was just out of college, living in Boston, C&B was my and my friends’ go-​to place for decent quality, reasonably priced, and oh-​so-​cool-​looking kitchen and house stuff.
When I moved to Seattle, where for oh-​too-​many-​years we were C&B-less, I would always make trips to C&B when I was back in Boston or I was visiting another, C&B-full, city. So, I was so happy when C&B finally came to Seattle about ten years ago.
I still love going here to browse and to buy. When we got married, we registered here. (And, as I type this, I am sitting on my bed under my wedding gift C&B comforter.) Just they other day, I found corn-​on-​the-​cob plates at the U-​Village store. A bit out of season, perhaps. But, I had been looking for these for a few months and everybody else’s were too expensive. Or too cheap. C&B’s were just right — both in terms of quality and price. I love C&B’s Christmas decorations and will be going back soon to look at what they have to offer in that department this year. (Yes, I know I could go now; but I refuse to Christmas stuff shop before Thanksgiving.)
If I have one complaint about C&B, though, it is that check-​out there has become this privacy-​invading ordeal. You are asked, first by machine, then by a person, to provide your phone number. No, C&B, you don’t need this. Then you are asked if you would like a printed copy of your receipt or if you would like to have it e-​mailed to you. (Supposedly a way to save a tree, but really just a way to get on their e-​mailing list.) I know you can just say no, but I don’t like being put in the position of having to say no.
I almost docked them a star because of this. But, I have too many happy C&B memories to do that. Now, I gotta go eat dinner off my C&B plates…

This is a nice store.
I like the selection and I like the products. Leaps and bounds ahead of Ikea. I can see the good workmanship in the furniture sold.
There is flatware, stemware, porcelain, items for home décor, etc, etc.
Can’t wait for this to open in Vancouver

My cupboards are full of beautiful Crate & Barrel items! I am so excited! Many items were shipped to my mom’s address and everything was well wrapped and arrived safely. One of the smartest things I’ve done in the past few months was decide to register here! Today I took 2 items to return and I purchased a few items that were gifted here… Overall the process has been perfect and just how I imagined…
Just perfection… I just wish I could afford one of their super beautiful dining room tables…
