I work downtown and this is my go-to place for coffee beans and advice. The baristas take time to understand what you’re looking for and take care of you. When I was looking into an Aeropress, I received an impromptu tutorial on how to best use the device. They really care about your experience at Elm.

Had such a warm experience here this morning. Maybe it was a combination of sun peaking in am, smiley and kind baristas and a perfect roast– I’m not sure, but it was well deserving of five stars. Service– amazing. Do you know how hard it is to find baristas that greet you and smile at you in Seattle? FOUND’EM. Cleanliness– this place is spotless. Beautiful wood layout, clean tables and floors, spotless glass. Given the location is grime-central, elm is such a gem! Atmosphere– calm, clean, and friendly. Perfect amount of Windows for some light to shine in. No posters or advertisements hanging. Price– $ 4 for a wet Capp– not bad. And I would definitely bring a friend/fam or a date!

My favorite coffee shop in Seattle! I’m lucky enough to have it right around the corner from my office. Everything they offer is high quality, delicious and fairly priced. The ambiance is also superb, especially on a nice clear day when the sun shines in through the large windows. Without a doubt go here for the espresso tonics. They are INCREDIBLE. They can best be described as effervescent and citrusy — very refreshing on a hot summer day. A spendthrift item but so worth it. Their scones are also to die for. A very simple no-frills scone that’s more biscuity than the scones you’ll find at other bakeries and cafes. For about $ 3 they’re a delicious treat.

One of my favorite coffee spots in Seattle! A hidden gem tucked away in pioneer square. I came here one Saturday afternoon with my girlfriend. The coffee was pretty delicious. We both got the vanilla latte-1 iced, 1 hot. The place had lots of natural lighting. The crowd was trendy and chill. The noise level was low. The decorations were modern and hip. The staff was friendly and professional. Overall, very nice coffee spot. I would come here again whenever I’m in the area.

One of my favorite roasters in Seattle! The single origins served here are fairly light; you have to like citrusy flavors but very good. Very well balanced house espresso. With respect to lattes, the milk is well prepared and most of the time blends well with the espresso. The space is very aesthetically pleasing and very well utilized. I also really like the fact that they are open until 7 on week days; really helps when I need purchase some whole bean for my morning coffee. I should probably mention that they are a little more expensive than most, but you get what you pay for. Also, they don’t serve pour overs which is a tad bit of a bummer.

Their coffee and espresso is nothing short of amazing… they truly are masters of their craft. The coffee menu is simple and no-frills, it doesn’t need to be fancy with how high quality their espresso is. I would come here more often if they had more variety of food on the menu though, especially savory items(bagels, breakfast sandwiches, etc…). If you’re starving and looking for a hearty breakfast, this is not the place. But to be fair, the name of the place suggests that coffee is their emphasis, not food, so it makes sense. Again, top notch coffee… and I’m a coffee snob(obviously, being a Seattle native).

Great pastries and beautiful lattes! I wish I could go every day! It is also in a great part of town that is within walking distance to the sports facilities as well as restaurants and shops. I suggest the getting the scone with your coffee of choice.

I ran into this place the other day with friends. I really liked the clean, modern environment the shop had. The employees were friendly and the coffee was delicious. I tried the coffee and tonic water which was delicious because I love bubbles and I love coffee, quite the interesting pair that I haven’t heard of before.

Great coffee in a great café. I love the packaging of their beans. Stopped by here for a mid day break before leaving Seattle and ordered an espresso, an iced latte and a donut from London Plane. We left with a bag of their amazing beans and our memories.

Roasted in house, quality light and bright coffee. These guys are giving customers the highest grade in coffee. From the branding all the way to the cup of coffee received; you will be utterly amazed. Gorgeous space also, no electrical outlets though, so don’t plan to work for more than the amount of time your laptop battery lasts.

Great coffee from an independent coffee roaster. //LOCATION //A block away from Salumi Artisan Cured Meats. //AMBIANCE //Ample seating indoors with a few small tables outside for fair-weathered days //FOOD // + Iced latte: Although not as bold as other locations, it was still satisfying with a smooth roast + An assortment of teas are available and they sell the bulk tea in cute packages and tins.

I love coffee shops that are all about the coffee. No super sugary drinks here, you’ll only find the basics here. What you get it wonderfully smooth coffee, great service, and a fantastic ambience. Great place to spend a relaxing Saturday morning.

Have I entered a new rEaLM? How did I find out about this coffee shop until now? It was super awkward for me to walk in because it was so packed and crowded but it was worth the wait. It’s pretty busy here but don’t be afraid to ask the barista for help, they are super chill! I ordered their coffee soda(SECRETMENU). I didn’t know what to expect but it was great! The coffee soda is composed of Expresso, Honey and Soda. The taste was very intriguing, the foam of the coffee soda was sweet and the drink tasted like a sweet cold brew. I would totally get the drink again! Only downside to the place is parking because the parking lot is surrounded by other places as well.(I took the bus!)

I’ve come here a few times since starting work in Pioneer Square, and this is one of the nicest coffee shops in Seattle. The space is huge and everything is very clean and organized. Oh, and their coffee is really good. They don’t serve chai though, which is OK because I usually order the drip.

Pretty good roast. It was a bit lukewarm though so I asked to get another one hot. Minus one star because the temperature was about the same for the redo cup. I like my brew hot.

Generous 5 stars. I would probably have to visit more to confirm, but first time was a pretty good experience. Service was great. The place was very spacious/non cluttered/bricks on one wall. They have hazelnut milk which is different/interesting. The lady gave me a small sample to try it out. It’s pricey though. + $ 1.50 for the milk substitute. I got an iced vanilla latte. It was good. Would get again. Boyfriend got an iced mocha, which I didn’t enjoy as much. I think they use theo chocolate, it’s a bit bitter for me.

Elm Coffee is a welcome oasis among hectic Monday mornings. :) Walking into the shop, their clean, polished and minimalistic style instantly caught my attention. I love the use of light and dark wood! At 8AM, it was very quiet and empty and was the perfect spot to kill some time before heading to the office. The shop is very roomy, with high ceilings and seating available at their coffee bar, by the windows and along the side. Their menu is straightforward with the standard espresso offerings along with a few unique drinks, like their coffee soda. They also have a few pastries from London Plane at their counter — I had the hardest time deciding between the cardamom cake and apple fritter, both looked so good! ;) As usual amongst non-Starbucks coffee shops, you’re paying a little more for higher quality coffee and taste — my breakfast of a tall latte and a slice of cardamom cake ended up being roughly $ 8. While I don’t come down to Pioneer Square too often, I can definitely see Elm Coffee easily becoming a new, personal favorite.

Thank God I rode the bus here because it looks like there’s nowhere to park. Their lattes are pretty strong, but I love the earthy flavor that you’re left with. I heard of their coffee soda(called shakerato) and will definitely come back for that. Baristas here know what they’re doing! Also, I absolutely love their décor! Such a good spot for people-watching.

I work on 2nd and Union, so when I come here it shows how much I like this place. The coffee is really good and prices reasonable. I would stick with their espresso blend for any milk based drinks and definitely would try the single origin for a straight espresso. The single origin did not taste that great with milk because of its fruity notes. As for milk drinks I usually get 6oz cappuccinos but I love the Cortado here! The atmosphere is awesome as well. All white with wood trimmings and feels very homey. Sometimes I will get away from the office and sneak here; I tend to be very productive as I don’t have coworkers getting me sidetracked as often. The internet is pretty fast but I noticed it getting a bit slower when the place was packed; I think this could easily be a minor fix. They have plenty of plugs and I did not seem to have a problem keeping charged for the time I was there. My only complaint is for those working/studying from the coffee shop is the seating ad they are not very comfy. Overall an awesome new coffee shop and I will gladly be back over and over again.
