Love that there’s a giant grocery /​home goods /​clothing store between Fremont and Ballard. In addition to your standard groceries, you can also pick up hardware tools, garden equipment or even furniture. I’ve also found that associates are pretty abundant (if you can’t find someone at the hardware desk, you can pick up a phone and an associate will be over to help you in a minute) and very helpful, not like Walmart or Target where you can’t find anyone ever to help you. One thing to note is that they put the «organic /​health» foods in a different section of the store, so stuff like noosa yogurt, eggless mayonaisse, or cliff bars are found in that section of the store.

1.Stop on the hot food (from picture, look like hot food) The dude have no clue what I was talking about. Spent 5 mins running around finding Sunday ad, the whole department has none.
2. Showed the huge AD to him, now he asked all worker in the area, none have any clue. Get on the phone, calling supervisor.
3. The poor dude show me to cold wing in package, which selling by the pound. Nope not it.
4. Asked the dude, since they have no such items. why can’t they sell me ready to eat wings marked at $ 7.99 and make them 10 for $ 5.99. BIG F ing No on that.
5. The other girl butting in, trying to make something ??? (start frying the chicken) — I was so done at that point.
And to think, I was stupid enough to drive here for those wings.
Deli Department Manager should be fired. Hand full of deli items are on sale price on Sunday ads. He & his crew don’t even look at them. Pathetic big waste of time.

The employees have always been kind and helpful. The problem is a safety issue, and this store’s policy of allowing criminals to openly shoplift, destroy property, and intimidate patrons without taking any safety measures for its customers. It cannot be a pleasant place to work. I have stopped shopping here until management does what management is supposed to do and show some fortitude and stand up to the criminals. I may be missing the marketing plan and that they are wanting honest patrons to leave and cater to the criminals… I hope these people wake up and realize how they are contributing heavily to the crime and drug use of their community. Prior to Xmas, I was offered Prime Rib Roasts from a shoplifter for $ 10 ea after leaving Starbucks. I declined. During the summer, I observed a known drug user in the area skateboarding from car to car in the parking lot looking for unlocked cars… I drove up and he skated off… it is totally unsafe!

Pretty standard. If you need something in a pinch Freddy’s is there.
They do have some kick ass sales from time to time too!

Generally polite and helpful store clerks, great one-​stop shopping, good prices, good organic produce, close to home — I shop here often. I would have given it four stars except I’ve had bad experiences in both their optical department and their pharmacy. It would be most convenient for my family to use both of those services, but I had a pharmacy clerk give me misinformation and try to way overcharge me without being willing to hear that it was an ongoing prescription they’ve been handling for years and it’s covered under my insurance. She wasn’t interested. I had to start going to Bartell’s instead. Made no sense. One bad clerk there, and now someone else gets all my family’s business. And the optical department — OMG! Avoid it like the plague. They’re just downright dishonest and rude. Hey Fred Meyer, these side services affect your reputation! That’s not helpful for you at all.

If I was a college student my entire house might be from Freddies. In fact I wonder why someone doesn’t sneak in and live there. It is a huge store. Once we lost my grand-​dad while picking up an RX for our Grandmom and found him napping on a couch in the furniture section nearby.
Honestly I don’t know how people who don’t live near a Fred Meyer can survive without going to 3 stores. The fruits and vegetable section is bigger than Whole Foods for far less, the healthy snacks are like a Trader Jones, there is fresh sushi, a HUGE Deli but watch out for the cheese guy (such a flirt), they will bake your a custom cake and you can get clothes, bikes (you might need to ride one to the other side of the store), tents and car stuff, towels and even a hardware store in one stop.
Plus their prices are back to being competitive again. We have a nice one over in Issaquah and both of them have the same high quality staff. My only complaint is that both put the bread in the same aisle as the candy (put it with the crackers) which makes it hard to shop with little kids.

When I first moved here I shopped at Freddy’s for everything. I love their low prices on home goods and the simple fact that it is a one-​stop-​shop really has an allure to it. Then there was the dreaded mold incident. A month or so ago I was shopping in the produce section for fresh raspberries. I was excited when I saw that they were on sale — and then mortified when I looked at the three packages remaining. Each of these packages contained very squishy looking raspberries with mild growing on them. I resolved that day to only buy pre-​packaged goods at Fred Meyer in the future.
I now frequent the store much less often. Really, I only go when I need household items like Kleenex or toiletries. Still, the store great for home goods!

I came into this Fred Meyer between business meetings to grab something for lunch. I was helped right away at the busy deli counter by a happy young man who was eager to please and got me the sandwich I wanted right away. I was happy to find a wide variety of cut up fruit ready to go and a lot of Naked juices. Most grocers only carry a few flavors. I used self-​checkout and was in and out fast.
I used the restroom which was clean and although a bit beat up, taken care of.
This Fred Meyer is huge and I would come back here if I was in Ballard and needed something again. It’s like a warehouse.
The parking lot is the size of a small island.

I like Fred Meyer — a Seattle institution. Help can at times be somewhat hard to find, but they are helpful once you find someone. The place is rather huge — so drink some coffee or something before you go there. What I like best about them is their very liberal return policy — I think you can return things even without a receipt if you have the credit card you paid with on hand. None of this picky return policy crap like Frye’s — they quite willingly return electronics even if opened. You might not get the «deals» like at Frye’s — but the simple fact you can actually return stuff there, no questions asked — is worth it in the end — you will *not* end up with stuff you either do not want or is defective.

With an after work sailboat ride on Lake Union, I decided to use my lunchbreak to grab my refreshment for the evening (sparking Dasani, fyi). I also had a random coupon for free Land O Lakes European-​style butter. And as any Freddie’s shopper knows, it’s hard to leave the store without browsing other departments.
I had time to kill, so I did a full loop around the store with my cart, throwing in clearance-​priced mason jar drinking glasses, the butter, and sparkling Dasani. I decided I wanted to shop the ladies clothing section cuz what woman doesn’t want more clothes?
Well, I looked like a chicken with its head cut off because I couldn’t see the clothing section. I thought it would’ve been near the home décor section because it’s more closely related to décor and household items than produce and cheese. But, y’all, they have the clothing area tucked behind (literally) the deli and produce section. If it hadn’t been for me standing on my tiptoes to read their store signage, I probably would’ve left without even browsing. My efforts were rewarded when I found a pair of jeans that fit — score! Leaving the clothing section, I saw some Seahawks garb and snagged my husband a «Seahawks Man Cave» sign.
Ambled my way over to the checkout, which was a breeze. I winced when my tab came to $ 83, when I only intended to spend less than $ 10 — oops. Conveniently as I was leaving, the Freddie’s jewelry store was beckoning me. I didn’t have any money to blow on diamonds (even though they are a girl’s best friend), but I did need my rings cleaned. Fortunately for this Fred Meyer location, they use an actual machine and steam blaster to clean your jewels, and they came out sparkling clean. (Unlike their ghetto Casino Rd. in Everett location, where they literally cleaned my rings with a TOOTHBRUSH — yuck!).
⁴⁄₅ stars, because their clothing department is stupidly stuck in the corner of the store.

The actual store is fine, but the Tully’s there sucks. I went today after my shopping, and tried to order a strawberry banana smoothie. The employee, who didn’t seem to want to be bothered by her reading asked me to go get the banana for her. Yeah… no. I don’t work at Tully’s, you get the banana yourself. Or better yet, check your stock when you aren’t with customers instead of looking miserably bored out your mind. I’ll stick to Starbucks when I want a drink at Fred Meyer.

Freddy’s is our main staple grocery store. We even bought our living room furniture there. Prices are good, checkers are friendly, store is pretty clean.

Wow. After a hour and a half of shopping in Fred Meyer for our Paradiso weekend we got to the till. They asked for our ID’s, my husband showed his and mine was in the car. I went outside to fetch mine and came back after several minutes (because I couldn’t find the car). when I showed him my South African passport he immediately said he’s not comfortable with my husband buying their products because he’s with an African. We asked for the manager, after the manager looked at my passport he chuckled and said to the cashier «what are you not comfortable with this?» And the cashier replied immediately «no I’m not comfortable with this at all». The manager said it’s the cashier’s call and we left buying nothing!
They are clearly discriminating against Africans, which is unacceptable and shocking! To not let my husband buy products from them because he is with an African woman is ridiculous. Please share and DO NOT support Fred Meyer!!!

I love this store! Really great mens clothing and shoe selection. Deli is great. Grocery store is fantastic. Easy parking and very «local» with North End Seattle peeps.
3 stars only because the store is now inhabited by a large group of homeless people that loiter all day next to Tullys and in the upstairs seating area. What was once a nice spot to work on laptop and relax now feels like a soup kitchen line. I wish no ill will to these down on their luck folk, but most are mentally ill and it DOES get a little ripe with all of ‘em roosted up there… Sadly, this is no longer my coffee shop of choice. Still love the store tho.
Update — DO NOT COME HERE LOOKING FOR POWER AND WI-​FI– As of 9÷18÷2015, management has removed all plugs from both coffee shop seating areas. I guess that’s one way to cure aforementioned vagrant problem. Alas, now essentially abandoned.

This place is awesome they have great prices and service. It is a one stop place which is exactly what I like.
The cashiers and customer service is awesome here. I wish that I can get the same service here at other places.

I usually go to Target but there isnt one where I live and this is a few minutes away from me… so I go here instead. It’s fine. No real complaints, its a pretty large store with food, groceries, household items, personal toiletries, clothes, electronics, automotive stuff, toys & games, I mean they pretty much got everything you need and Im not about to drive to Northgate or go back into downtown for a Target.
Food quality seems to be ok, pretty good bakery area, meats I dont buy much as I go to Trader Joes up the street. Veg seems to be pretty decent as well. There are times where they are offering samples to try. There’s also a little Starbucks inside as you enter.
Aisles are quite narrow at times when passing someone, and when you exit an aisle, be sure to look so you dont pull in front of someone walking by. You are not the only one at the store. Check-​out seems to be pretty easy, the times I’ve been, there has been multiple lines open. Self-​check out is faster and I’ve never had any problems with that.
Staff has been pretty helpful if you need anything, will help you locate something, confirm pricing, and the cashiers will thank you for waiting if you behind someone with a boatload of items.
Parking lot outside is pretty large with ample parking but you will get the occasional moron that doesnt know how to park within the lines and an idiot that drives down the wrong direction and is oblivious to anything & everything.
Overall, probably one of the better Fred Meyer stores I’ve been to.

Nothing I can complain. From furniture to stationery, from clothing to food… they have almost everything you need for your house. One of the best one-​stop stores in Ballard.
I just got a table from here, which matches my couch perfectly, love it.

The parking isnt to bad even when busy, and it gets pretty crowded, but it’s a great spot and excellent prices.

This Fred Meyer is a very convenient place to get groceries and other essentials at a good price. The staff are generally friendly, although not always efficient. The other day, I had a very easy time exchanging a Under Armour shirt for a smaller size. They have a dedicated surface lot which can be pretty hectic to navigate especially during the early evening hours on a weekday or during the weekends.

Avoid self-​checkout. Its a nightmare. The employees working it are the bottom rung on the cashier ladder for a reason. If you have any issue & need help they treat you as though you are a thief rather than a customer… or perhaps you’ll get lucky and only get treated like a rude interruption.
REPEATEDLY I have filled out surveys to complain but nothing improves, and no one ever contacts me from the local store. A few days ago Kroger Customer Service wrote me to ask me to fill out a survey on how they’d done. They hadn’t done anything… why send a CS survey to a customer you didn’t respond to? Weird.
The worst experience I have had at this store included a self-​check employee laughing maniacally when I told her I didn’t need her attitude (they get snappy if you get tired of waiting for them when the machine locks up on you). I think she should be in an institution. What kind of psychopath laughs at customers?
I promise you that upper management at this store could not care less about you or the service you should receive. Its a Kroger trademark.

This Fred Meyer in Ballard/​Frelard is huge. Comparable in size to the ones on the Eastside. It is in an industrial area near Salmon Bay, so it feels a bit out of the way. But I think that it makes it easy to spot.
Parking is a breeze and the store layout is easy to navigate. It is similar to the Redmond store (except everything is on one floor) so I know where to go for what I need. I did notice though that there are two self checkout locations here on both ends of the store. I like this since I tend to do self checkout every time I visit Fred Meyer so having them in two locations means I don’t have to go to the other end of the store just to self checkout.
If you are shopping here for groceries, remember to bring a shopping bag or pay the Seattle bag fee. I don’t do a lot of grocery shopping in Seattle anymore, but if I happen to need something and am in the Ballard area, Fred Meyer is where I would go before going anywhere else.
