Shh! You’ll have to wait a few more days but if the soft opening is any indication of how well this bar is going to do on E Olive way then the whole neighborhood is in for a treat. I popped by along with what seemed like 1000 other people the other night and got a chance to see the space and try some cocktails. It’s not a big bar but it’s the perfect neighborhood hangout for someone looking for a fantastic cocktail and a bit of a quieter setting. Similar to a coffee shop(because it will also be one!) you can grab a seat and pretty much spend hours here with friends, or just hang out on a laptop or with a book. Probably best for groups of 5 or fewer, there’s standing room, outdoor seating, soft seating inside, and a few tables as well. The design here is stunning and you can see why the project is so highly anticipated. The space is clean and fresh yet somehow looks as though it’s been here for decades. Gorgeous antique lamps, old well-loved furniture, and dim-lighting give the space a cozy, warm, and romantic atmosphere. Though I’m not a big coffee drinker myself, if the program here is anything like it is at Liberty on 15th, you’ll get an amazing cup here. For 21+ libations there’s a fully-stocked bar and a world class staff on hand to whip up anything you’d like. I really enjoyed the Black Walnut Old Fashioned and intend to come back for many more. Can’t wait to see the neighbors discover this sweet spot, as I anticipate this place will be packed every hour they’re open for business.
