Lunch buffet is quite good(and a pretty good deal). I love the jalfraizi(sp?). I don’t recommend ordering wine since their servers don’t seem to know how to serve wine, and once when I ordered soup for dinner I got what appeared to be leftover chicken from the lunch buffet cut up in my soup.(It was still good, though, just a little odd.) Other than that, no complaints!

India Bistro is sooo good. We love it. The rice is always perfect, the curries are always delicious. Last night we ordered saag paneer and butter chicken, garlic naan, and chicken samosas. Everything was excellent. Love India Bistro, they are one of the best Indian places in Seattle in my opinion and I make it my business to try as many places as I can!

We ordered chicken shorba soup, chole, chicken tikka masala, naan and paratha. They serve their entrée on a little candle to keep it warm. That was very nice and unique. Shorba and naan was good. Chicken tikka masala — nothing like I have ever tasted before. Chicken was okay but the sauce was tomato purée out of a blender. I was disappointed as I was really craving for some good Indian food. Chole had too much turmeric but hubby seemed to like it. Paratha was definitely undercooked. There is basement parking available underneath the restaurant. Service was really good.

Mailer coupons, woo! Yeah, that’s why we went, but India Bistro is worth more than the mailer. I have to say, the interior is very nice, and the food is well done. Served elegantly, all dishes tasted very good. I’m being picky with four stars, mainly because the chai wasn’t the best I’ve had(if you like it sweet, that’s how they serve it). The mango juice was good, and the paneer pakora was awesome — salty, with a good batter texture. The Indian salad was ok — mostly just chopped up veggies, but it was a good starter. The tandoor combo is served sizzling in a skillet and has every meat you can think of, all done just right. I highly recommend it. The malai kofta was good, but the flavor was more creamy than I was craving. I still think it was good. My dining mate and I basically just traded dishes, and were both quite pleased.

I was looking forward to trying a new Indian place but this was a huge disappointment. First, it was very dirty inside. The carpet had bits of food all over it. When we were seated at our table we were horrified to see that there was a huge stain on the tablecloth. We were seated at a four top and a two top pushed together. For some reason the two top didn’t have glass over the tablecloth. We thought this was a bit odd but didn’t really think anything of it. We thought that maybe someone didn’t see the stain on the tablecloth or that our table had never been cleaned. My sister removed everything from the table to flip the tablecloth and was mortified to see even more stains on the other side. She called over a staff member and without a word he took the tablecloth away. When he returned with a new one there was no apology or anything, he just put the tablecloth on and left. I noticed that even on the four top that there were stains on the side of the tablecloth. The bathroom was horrible, stains on the outside of the toilet on the tank lid, super gross. Someone needs to give the bathroom a serious scrub down!!! I was nervous when our food arrived about how clean the kitchen was and how our food had been prepared. The food tasted ok, not great, but I was so grossed out that I hardly touched my food. The service was incredibly slow, and no one ever checked on us to see if everything was ok. I’m not sure how this place is so highly rated, I wonder if management has changed or something.

I LOVE this place. I only wish I had found it sooner. I had lived in the neighborhood for 2 years before I found this mind blowing delicious food… and its a great deal too!

The restaurant was pretty nice, service was good. Ordered Mango Chicken, Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, and Mango Mousse. The Mango Chicken was very good, but the chicken was a bit dry. Butter Chicken was good. The Naan wasn’t like the others I’ve eaten at different Indian restaurants, so was a bit disappointed. The Mango Mousse was very light, which made it taste like mango flavored whip cream.

We ordered 1) mango chicken, 2) butter chicken, 3) garlic nan and 4) mango mousse. I really liked 1) and 2), and I’ll order 1) mango chicken again in the near future! The dish was very flavorful and unique. :) But the texture of 3) nan was very different from other restaurants I’ve ever tried. It was much softer and like regular bread. Maybe I don’t know the authentic Indian nan, but I prefer crispier and bigger nan. I was expecting more for 4) mousse, since there were so many good reviews. But the texture was too soft as mousse, and it was like mango flavored whip cream. I’ll try other dessert next time. The service was great and very pleasant! I’ll definitely try lunch or dinner buffet next time.

We really enjoyed lunch buffet. All the food on the buffet was hot and tasty, the naan bread brought to the table was right out of the oven. The place was clean and the service very good — can’t ask for more! We are visiting from Dallas, but will be sure to return when we visit next, and our Seattle family will certainly be back!

This place was pretty good. We went with a group on a Sunday night, mostly because they offered a dinner buffet(Sunday & Monday nights, for $ 15) and we left feeling quite pleased and very full. The buffet wasn’t overly large but had a lot of good selection(pakoras, tandori chicken, butter chicken, naan, lamb dishes, vegetarian dishes, they had it all!). The flavors were right and they had a watchful eye, making sure there was always food in the dishes. The staff was friendly and they have free parking!

I didn’t try too much but the simosas here are so good. I got the food to go and I was very impressed with their chicken simosas. The pastry on the outside was flaky and the filling wasn’t all sauce but had chunks of meat. I was incredibly happy with the food and can’t wait to come back for some lunch.

Best Indian food in Seattle, hands down. Possibly the best Indian I’ve had on the West Coast. I’ve been to India four times, and the food here is as good as the best food I’ve had there. The butter chicken is incredible, the lunch buffet is fantastic, the service is great, the prices are reasonable. Other Indian restaurants leave me feeling bloated — India Bistro doesn’t. That’s because they don’t use as much butter/ghee/lard as other Indian restaurants. Their sauces are lighter, more yogurt based, more flavorful. Highly recommend this place.

I love this place. I’ve only been here a few times but each time always leave thinking that I should come here more often! The big draw for this place is the value. The food is always superb, but when you mix in a lunch buffet for less than 10 bucks count me in. I haven’t confirmed, but I also believe they have the same buffet on the weekends which is unheard of. As mentioned previously, the food is fantastic. Their butter chicken is flavored well and the chicken is never overcooked which often happens. They also have a really tasty«tikka potatoes» which I use to pour my Korma, Masala, or Vindaloo sauce all over. All in all, this place is great and I need to make it my go-to Indian spot in the area. I’d highly recommend it if you’re in the mood and don’t want to take a hit in the wallet!

I’ve eaten several times at the Ballard location and loved it for years. Therefore I decided to stop in for an early dinner(5:00). There were 5 diners present for 40 – 50 capacity. Now I like(for the most part) the Roosevelt location. First of all, it’s bigger and slightly more upscale. However, I noticed the service is somewhat cool/distant much like the Ballard location. I wish they were more like servers at An Nam Phở a few doors down, oh well. Otherwise, the food is delicious. This time I tried the Mango Chicken for the first time, wonderful. I took my gluten digestion pills and added the Garlic Naan and it was HEAVEN! Finally, my sweet tooth was calling so decided to try the rice pudding(with my handy dairy enzyme pills). They would be better off calling this dessert cold ice milk!!! Never again. To the owner: Please teach your wait staff to smile more and stay off their smart phones

The garlic naan was the highlight of our delivery meal. The Saag Aloo was ok but a little to creamy and sweet for my tastes. The Chana Aloo wasn’t bad either but not the best I have had. The okra dish however should never have been served to a customer. Every single piece of okra in the dish was super stringy and fibrous and left a wad of cud in your mouth that then had to be spit out. Inedible.

My son and I came here based off Unilocal reviews, but I have to say that I was really disappointed. The food overall was just okay. The mango chicken was actually delicious, but everything else was very lackluster. For example, the butter chicken wasn’t the worst I’ve had, but it was a far cry from the best. The décor, specifically in the bathroom, is in some need of updating. I’m not one who usually points out décor, but it really added to the experience making me think they don’t pay much attention to the restaurant as a whole. However, my biggest disappointment was in the service. I pretty much had to beg for another drink on a couple of occasions, and they seemed more interested in us getting out of there than enjoying our food. Overall, I won’t be back here as there are many other places which offer better food and way better service.

Umm not… I don’t know how this place got such good reviews. We got delivery and it took a good 1.5 hours. They should note that somewhere bc I would’ve gotten off my lazy butt and driven there and back in 5 min if I knew that. The food lacked flavor is all I can say. A whole lot of bad. We tried the butter chicken, which I liked best. Then the okra — dry as heck; vegetable goa — wth!; lamb in tomato sauce — made my jaw hurt; vegetable samosas — which my boyfriend liked best but I couldn’t eat; roti and rice. We made a note on the online delivery form for mango lassi since it wasn’t on the menu but they don’t giving a flying a$$ about the notes as they said in so many words when we called after over an hour of waiting.

Very, very finely cooked meats and seafood, drowned underneath these strange-tasting, gloopy sauces. And I hope you like Indian music, because otherwise you could be driven insane by the endless monotonous drones on the house stereo.

Love this place! It’s hard to find an Indian dinner buffet around here but luckily there’s India Bistro. I think I’ve read that it’s only on Sundays and Mondays, so keep that in mind. There was such a wide variety offered here, from the appetizers(samosas(!!), potato patties, grilled veggies) to the curries to the dessert. Typically I’m never too particularly impressed with the quality of meat used at buffets, but here, all of the chicken dishes were extremely tender and divine. There was also a lamb dish in the buffet which isn’t too common for most Indian buffets. The one thing that irked me a bit was the way they handled the naan. It was delicious and yummy, but when I asked for more, we only got two small-ish pieces, one for me and one for the BF. This would have been okay if we had a lot of naan to begin with, but we really didn’t, so that was kind of a let down.

We stopped in for dinner before our usual GeekGirlCon game night at its neighbour Wayward Coffeehouse. We met some friends for a meal and were pleased at the overall experience. When we sat, the server brought us water immediately and complimentary papadum with tamarind and mint chutneys. Our friends arrived(one vegetarian and one vegan) shortly thereafter and had no trouble with the menu. We ordered garlic basil naan, some spicy mixed pickle, saag paneer, aloo gobi, and some lamb curry. The main courses also came with ample rice for everyone. Service was very attentive and pleasant. While I don’t think they’d topple our favourite Indian restaurant from its lofty perch, they would work in a pinch. If I were in the area, I’d check out their $ 8.95 lunch buffet, offered daily from 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. and I think they also have a dinner buffet priced at $ 11.95 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Bathrooms were clean. Street parking is available plus there are also a couple spaces underneath in the shared garage. You’d do better to park in the adjoining neighbourhood and walk over though. It’s simply easier than fighting for spaces shared by all the businesses.
