Cold boring atmosphere, sub-par rolls(pretty sure I got rice with mayonaise for $ 14), incompetent and unfriendly staff… …but the real kicker was $ 16 for a Hennessey Manhattan. $ 12 for the oz of Hennessey $ 4 to «martini style» it. There isn’t a bar in Seattle that charges that much for a Hennessey Manhattan(except Jasmine it would seem). Don’t even take your worst enemies to this place.

I was surprised that this restaurant was not busier. I was in town for NYE2012 and wanted to eat at a place close the hotel. This place captured my attention with their website. I was equally as satisfied dinning there. The food was excellent!!! I enjoyed everything I had and I am NOT a lover of sushi. I usually get California rolls — I was not disappointed in being a little adventurous with my entrees. I recommend this place to eat– I will return.

Too bad Unilocal wont allow a zero star review. Miso came cold with my sushi order. The sushi was not what I ordered and at no time was I offered silverware or even a napkin. I literally got up and left. There are so many great places to eat sushi in Seattle and this isn’t it. I should not have gone for convenience over a good a restaurant. Lesson learned.

This is one of those places that takes full advantage of ignorant diners and being downtown. To be not so vague, the sushi was mediocre at best but pretty expensive compared to other places. I came for an early lunch and it was pretty dead, but the service was really nice. It did take usa while to get our bill despite being the only ones there

My wife and I just ate at Jasmine and had one of the worst dining experiences of our lives. First, the host seemed irritated that customers were actually visiting the restaurant, as the place was completely empty when we showed up at 5:30. My wife ordered miso soup and about three bites in, she discovered a melted wad of plastic wrap in the soup. We brought it to the attention of the waiter, but he seemed more concerned about having to take it back than the fact it could have choked her or made her sick. And, they tried to charge us for the soup on when our bill arrived. The rest of meal was forgettable and hard to enjoy after the plastic incident. If you’re into cellophane wrap, this is the place for you. If not, choose from one of the many great restaurants Seattle has to offer.

I am sad to write this as at one time Jasmine was a favorite restaurant. However the past 3 times I have gone, the quality of the food has declined. The menu descriptions have not changed but Instead of nicely prepared portions of shrimp, duck and the listed accompaniments, the meats/seafood are of lesser quality and the dishes contain a high portion of inexpensive fillers such as water chestnuts and peppers. Also, on one occasion I requested a to-go box and was given a box that truly looked like a used candy box. I showed it to several others and they though the same. I threw it out.

Came here on a lunch hour and it took nearly all of it to get my order, which a after a very long wait became a take-out, $ 17+ bento box and a sprint back to my office. Nothing to write home about. I’ve paid nearly half as much for bentos twice as good and served much faster. Maybe that’s why the restaurant was nearly empty. Nice ambiance but I will not be back.

We were in town for a friend’s wedding, and we stayed at a hotel near Jasmine. I really liked the interior. Nice and sort of hip. Very clean, and big full bar. We walked in at 2pm, so the lunch rush was already over and it was completely empty inside. After our party of 8 sat our asses down, waitress was able to help us. She didn’t seem to happy. Maybe a little stressed on dealing with a big table? Well, eventually, she turned out to be a pretty cool person and everyone on the table took turns to talk to her. She was very witty, charming, and the table would comment on how pretty she was. No language barrier, so that probably helped with the communication. For the most part, everyone probably wanted her to be the next future daughter-in-law… Anyways, we ordered lots of beef bowl soups, chow miens, and stir frys. Overall, the menu seemed pretty big, but we didn’t have any sushi, just the Chinese entrees. And, overall, the taste of the entrees seemed to be a huge miss. Definitely didn’t really taste like any good Chinese food I’ve ever had. Maybe Seattle isn’t used to truly good Chinese food? Regardless, my bf and I(who had the youngest tastebuds of the group), weren’t really that satisfied taste-wise. The rest of the table(age 50+) said it was really good, though. So… maybe their more aged tastebuds were missing something that us young ‘uns were? For the most part, service was pretty good, but meal was a bit disappointing. The place looks likes it’d be really good as part of the nightlife, especially the lounge area and the bar.

This was located next to the hotel I was staying at in Seattle. It’s a nice little place. Pretty swanky looking, but you can dress very casual in there. The waiters and waitresses were nice. I went there during happy hour and got some sushi and sake. Found a fly in my sake, but the owner(who I assumed is the owner) gave me a whole ‘nother one for free. Didn’t finish it, cause I would have been a little too boozy. The cocktails that the lady made looked really yummy. And from what other people beside me said was that it tasted really good. The sushi was ok. I forgot what I ordered, but the nori was really… chewy.

Me and my boyfriend stumbled across this cute little place while visiting Seattle. We had just ate, but we were still in need of a night cap-er. At first we just ordered a beer a piece but our bartender was SOOOO charming and funny that she totally kept us there for a few more drinks. She makes the best mojitos(with fresh mint from her Mother’s place) and other random little drinks. If we could have bartenders like her back in the midwest, I totally would enjoy a bar more often. We didn’t get to try the food but the Sushi looked quite amazing as well!

*sigh* I think this place has potential but maybe it needs a better staff??? We went here on a Saturday night and the place was empty. The food was ok… nothing really special except for my mojito. Our waitress was friendly and entertaining but she was obnoxiously loud and easily distracted. She randomly took off to talk to guys at the bar while we were in the middle of ordering then came back to our table like nothing happened. I give it 2 stars because I feel bad but I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

I work for a service industry company that holds quality standards, unmatched customer service & customer satisfaction to a very high degree. I walked in as a visitor to the city and was greeted by a scene where the server or manager was arguing with a large party of guests. The guests looked to be a group of high school kids having dinner before prom. The employee went as far as matching their immaturity by mocking them back. Professionalism, grace & humility were lost. My experience is tame as I am solo. Nothing to mess up. But, even at any of our fine dining outlets we train and retrain for all our representative not to lose sight of putting the guest experience first. My guess. This place is family-owned and managed. Two stars from one service industry professional to another.

I have always walked by Jasmine and wanted to try it, so today was the day. I wish I would have kept walking by… I ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll and the Rocky. The menu says that these rolls are 5 – 8 pieces. I received five of each roll(total 10). I ate six pieces, three of each. The fish tasted bad, and if I continued eating the rolls it would have triggered my gag reflex. And, to top it off it was $ 19.00(not including tip). Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience. Needless to say, I won’t be dining there again.

I wanted to love Jasmine… I really did! My friends and I happened upon this hidden spot while looking for a place to go after being told Sazarac(across the street) had a 45 minute wait to get into their happy hour. Seeing as we had a show to go to in one hour, we couldn’t travel too far, and noticed a shiny sign across the street beckoning us in. The place was empty, but the beautiful décor and swanky vibe called us in. The wait staff was extremely nice(and knowledgeable, had the entire drink menu memorized… because they didn’t have a drink menu), but this is where the good parts stop and the bad and the ugly come out to play. The menu… included Chinese, thai, and Japanese food… a bit too much going on for me! The wine… tasted about two weeks old. The curry… was really just stir fried veggies over white rice. The check… was more expensive than some of the nicer restaurants I’ve been in the Seattle area. Overall disappointing… I was really rooting for you Jasmine, sorry to have to give you a one star!

Wow this place has gotten raked over the coals. I thought it was fine. But, clearly it has issues because at peak lunch time there were not many customers. The lunch menu looked good, and did not seem overpriced. I had the Pad Thai which was not bad, although it was served in a bowl and tasted more of hoisin sauce than peanut butter. The portions were very small. Tea was served out of a pot, as it should be. Service was fast and polite. Everything felt very clean. Interior was too dark, but attractive. Chairs were very comfortable. Although execution and atmosphere were both fine, nothing stood out as exceptional. Minus one star because of the portion size; I would not go here for lunch if you are really hungry, unless you don’t mind shelling out extra for an appetizer.

Sadly, the website for this place looks much cooler than it actually is. My friends and I went looking for a good Thai restaurant and came across Jasmine’s website. It looked chic and chill. Sadly, once we walked in, we realized it was not. We sat, all alone, in the back, by ourselves because the restaurant was completely empty. Should have been a clue. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai, Miso soup, and an order of salmon nigiri. It was fine, not great. But, boy, by looking at the bill, one would think I had eaten an incredible meal. Huge disappointment.

Excellent food, mixed drinks are a little strong, the décor is beautiful and service is average. There isn’t usually a hostess, so feel free to seat yourself. I’ve been here numerous times during the weekly lunch hour and have only had one waitress, named Hai. For a decent sized restaurant I often wonder if they have more than one person working later shifts… There are usually 1 – 2 sushi chefs who are pretty good and the food looks pretty and tastes good but I still live Nijo, Wasabi Bistro and Umi better. I hate the bathroom. You have to hike up to it and once you get there it feels like you’re not at the same restaurant. It definitely needs a remodel and to be brighter and cleaner. Nevertheless, every time I have a sushi craving I keep coming back. This place definitely has potential, they should really hire more employees though. It would probably be more popular if it was located in Belltown too! Just my opinion…

I’ll try to keep this as brief and short because after reading everyone else’s reviews, I’m not surprised by their experiences since mine was somewhat similar. I also went with a group of about 10 – 12 people for my friend’s birthday dinner. It was a Saturday night and we were there from 6:30pm till around 10pm. Throughout those wee hours, the only people that came in were a couple of men coming in for beer and sushi. Otherwise the whole restaurant felt empty, quiet, and too opened spaced because the lack of customers. Felt so strange for such a hip and somewhat fancy looking restaurant to not be packed on a Saturday night. The reason why we were there for longer than expected is because some of our friends were running late so the waitress was patient enough to wait to take our orders until everyone arrived. But once we were ready to order, she would take some orders down, then she’ll disappear and come back again. My friend was trying to order and she responded saying that she doesn’t want to overwhelm the kitchen and take too many orders all at once. I’m sorry but you don’t refuse to take an order. the kitchen is supposed to expect to be overwhelmed. I can’t imagine what she would have said if the place actually HAD a packed crowd if they can’t even take an order for a group of 10 ish people. So my friend tried to order, but she just kept disappearing again. The food later came out and it was so-so. I got the crunchy California roll and honey walnut prawns. It was alright. at that point I was very hungry so I ate happily. Later though, the waitress came up to us and said there can be no more sushi orders because they somehow ran out of rice for the night. At that point, every single one of us had a wtf moment thinking how the hell does an Asian infused restaurant(especially sushi) run out of RICE? I had to leave earlier so I was trying to just pay my tab but she said the tab is going to be split between the two tables of our group. So that’s another thumbs down on not being able to just split our bills especially if they were barely able to accommodate us with good service in the first place. It’s the least they can do! The 18% gratuity was painful for us to have to do with the service we got. She even charged 18% gratuity on one of the girls that had to leave even earlier than I did, when all she got was a drink! The waitress was sweet and all but in completely fake way. I could see her glaring over at us time to time so she knew we weren’t happy with the place. I am not going to come back here for sure.

Went here with a large group of around 12. The fact that they could accommodate us with no reservation on a Friday night should have tipped us off that this place isn’t great, but we were hungry and group mentality prevailed. Credit first to our waitress — she gave us individual bills! However, the sushi was pretty lackluster. Egg rolls were uninspiring and the sushi rolls were poorly crafted. I’d likely not come here in the future, but if you want an easy group dining place, you could probably come here.

This place looks pretty cool and modern and hip. Neat section partitions. The front appeared rather swaggy with some intimate group seating. Cool lookin’ bar with the FTV and sushi station. And darnit I wish I knew what music station was playing ‘cuz I liked it… –man. Eh, the bathrooms were ok; didn’t seem balanced. I liked the teal tiles and the oh-my-gosh-that-smells-good scent. Waiter was alright, kinda cool but o-kay. Thee BBQ Pork was tasty. Thou hast thee Admiral Rolls(8) & and thy were good henceforth thine photograph amongst us… SH! I’ve always wanted to speak like that sometimes — ‘cuz it’s fun(!) They were pretty flavorful and it tasted as good as it looked. The cuts were fine, too! And, not sure if it was intentional, but the end pieces were larger — about 1.5x normal single cut roll — larger. I nibbled the bait; so I’ll likely return for further adventure.
