There are few beasts in the world nobler than a winery dog, and I’m pleased to be able to report that the good folks at Kerloo Cellars down in SODO keep a particularly noble member of the profession on site in the form of a sweet-as-the-day-is-long-in-summer Yellow Lab named Rigley. Rigley — or Riggs, as he’s styled around the joint — met me and the partner at the door, dutifully followed us to our belly-up spot at the bar and then stood around faithfully getting his ears rubbed while he licked my trousers. If that ain’t love, I don’t know what is. Anyway, after a greeting like that, the wines had a tough act to follow. But, they followed it well. Kerloo produces wines based on Spanish and Rhôné-style varietals like Grenache, Tempranillo and Syrah. Not only do they stay true to theme when it comes to the types of wine they make, but they also make all of their offerings in a consistent wine-style. Every wine we tried was medium-to-light bodied, easy on the tannins, well-balanced, food-friendly and ready to drink now. The tasting room had a nice, laid-back atmosphere with all kinds of folks tasting without getting in each other’s way and our hostess was enthusiastic and informed about the wine she was pouring. Bottom line: Head down to say hi to Riggs and then settle in for some nice pours of some nice wine. Odds are you’ll walk away with some of it, too.

Évaluation du lieu : 5 Seattle, WA
I am so excited that wine makers(great wine makers) have decided to open up shop in Urban Seattle instead of Woodinville. This space with other wineries and breweries is a Gem, and the interior of Kerloo Cellars is unique and beautiful. I heard that they rent their space out for events and they let you bring in your own caterer! We did a tasting of 4 of their wines, two grenaches, a syrah and a malbec. The all were great! They do offer some white wines as well, but they were all sold out. They have an oaked Chardonnay and they have a sparkling wine in the works too! Besides the wine, the staff is great. The pourer that we had is the white wine maker and he was very knowledgeable and gave us great information on where the grapes were sourced from and how that changes the flavor of the wines. We will be back and we hope to see you there!
