I can’t believe how kind and helpful the barista just was to me, especially this late in the day(one hour before they close). She made my night really. Good humans here.

Amazing café /bakery. Hands down my favorite in Seattle. Open a store in Wenatchee! Delicious treats, great coffee. They even offer a «short» size for iced coffee. Most places don’t offer small iced sizes. If you can’t find street parking, just park in the lot next door and be in and out quick without paying to park.

I can’t comment on their sandwiches or soup, but I frequent this place for desserts(pies, mainly) and baguettes. This is my second favorite bakery in seattle, the first being Le Panier.

Our second visit left us feeling completely underwhelmed. I got the bahn mi, and it was the worst I’ve ever had. The pork was so fatty it was inedible, there was no cilantro or daikon, and very little mayo or sriracha. The sandwich had no flavor whatsoever. My husband got the brunch special and eggs and potatoes both were undercooked, and the gratin had no flavor either. Very disappointing. His coffee and my chai were good, but for $ 28 we expected to leave happy and not still hungry. Our first visit was really great — we ordered coffee, chai, and a dill scone. Maybe when/if we visit again, we’ll just stick to the baked goods.

Stopped in with my 5 year old on a Saturday late morning. Parking wasn’t bad — don’t be afraid to use your legs! Always feel good entering this place, and the staff are consistently pretty quick to engage. The décor is snazzy, upscale, industrial-with-class. The smells are good, the display case is enticing. So many good options, you will need to plan returns every month for a year. Fun to watch the sausage(okay, baking) get made here. Actually, it’s even cooler than watching sausage get made, if you like that sort of thing. Be careful with your urges or you will go out the door with an impending change in pant size. I especially like their pretzel bread. Their pumpkin bread is divine.

I am a regular, and a regular for several reasons: Macrina(SODO) delivers on food quality, atmosphere, and, most importantly, staffing. In particular, I have to give props to Frank who is one of the friendliest and hardest workers I have seen.

Just had the breakfast sandwich, yummy indeed!!! Soft bread, melty cheese, good quality ham, egg not overcooked, what more can you ask for?!

Excellent in everything. Had breakfast here a few weeks back. I loved it. It’s quick with good quality ingredients. Can’t complain. Price could add up fast though.

[ THEGOOD ] — Potato Bread — ALL breakfast sandwiches(they sell out, get their early!) — Snickerdoodle Cookies — Blueberry scones(the boyfriend’s favorite) [ PROTIP ] — Go early to get seating, no lines/waits, and all the goodies are FRESH! — Go on a Sunday, free street parking — Don’t go during a game day(unless you’re going to the game) because you’ll get stuck in the crowds and traffic

I love this little hipster bakery. The staff is always very friendly and their Carne Quiche is absolutely amazing! It’s really cheesy and creamy at the same time. I don’t know what they do, but wow. Also, the crust is very flakey and buttery. I’m getting hungry just writing about it, and I just had lunch. It’s a perfect snack around 9am if you’re going to have lunch at noon. It doesn’t fill you up, but tides you over temporarily. A lot of their baked goods, they sell out early. So if there is something in particular you want, go early. Ham & Cheese Croissant is also a favorite of mine. Lattes are very good too, but not very strong. I suggest an extra shot.

We had breakfast here this past Sunday morning. It was wonderful because 1) this city doesn’t seem to wake up before 9AM and this place opened up early at 7 so it wasn’t crowded! 2) it was delicious! We both settled into a narrow booth and placed our orders pretty quickly. Their lattes are amazing here and we had our best lattes our entire trip through Seattle, Vancouver, and Whistler here at this place. My boyfriend even had 2 at breakfast! I ordered the salmon bialy and he got the breakfast platter with eggs and chicken sausage. My bialy was good but very overwhelming in onion flavor. I ended up nixing my top half and eating the lower half with the filling. Potatoes were good. The chicken sausage is tasty! It is great for people watching. We had breakfast so all of our items were fresh and not«pre-made» or they didn’t seem to be at least. A small part of me wished we had just the pastries but there’s not enough room in this belly for all the«could have beens!» Really recommended for an early morning breakfast. I loved all of our waitstaff. They had funny stories to share or just were so darn adorable you couldn’t help being as happy as they seemed to be.

Hell to the yes. This is one big ass bakery! If you eat in you can get nab seats outside, along the windows, or better yet, next to the big feature window that looks onto the bakery floor. Lots to see here! The tall ceilings here make the space feel big and open but sound also carries. When it’s busy it can be pretty loud and is perhaps not the best place to get some work done. More than just baked goods they have prepared sandwiches, mezze platters, soups, salads and desserts. It’s almost impossible to come for lunch and not also grab something sweet to go. But do it! Treat yo-self. The goods are delicious!

This site definitely grows on you. In earlier times, the reviews on this location were a mixed bag but I believe they are growing more consistent delivering positive, responsive customer service despite how busy they get on weekends with consistently delicious products. We like visiting this bakery on our walk from the bridge and usually buy one pastry to fuel us until we get to downtown. So far, we’ve tried the morning roll which is a decadent flakey sticky buttery ball of wonderful and the cherry almond scone which was delightfully biscuit-like and not like the muffin-esque versions you find at drive-thru expresso stands or at lesser grade bakeries. They offer actual glasses for the water jug(no captive need to buy a bottle of water with your croissant) and have a pretty decent selection of both savory and sweet treats or a full meal if you’re hungry. It’s got a one table for groups and several tables around the outer edge of the wall, a couple of bar seats and some outdoor tables. If it’s full, which it sometimes is, we just eat on the go. They also offer samples by the register, a full rack of ready to go products such as brioche hot dog buns(this month’s special), crackers, breads and sweets. It’s just a tad larger than the Belltown location and even in the shadows of Sodo, this bakery is a welcome oasis.

I have always loved Macrina for breakfast but had never been to this location before– now I know I need to come back! Macrina is a favorite neighborhood café among Seattlites, and although they’ve expanded from their humble Queen Anne location, their cafés still have that small, homey feel. Unlike some of their other locations, this SoDo site is a lot less crowded and has more seating space, both in– and outdoors. The food and espresso is still fabulous and made from scratch and the service is just as friendly as I’ve experienced at the other Macrinas. I highly recommend the oatmeal(with seasonal fruit compote) and brioche French toast as my all-time favorite menu items, but today I had the smoked salmon bialy, which was also incredibly tasty. If you’re down by the stadiums, this place is an easy, flat walk.

Stopped here for a quick breakfast today before attending an event at the nearby Living Computer Museum. At 9:30AM on a Saturday, Macrina was pretty packed. After a short wait to order, I got myself a brioche sandwich and an americano, and got lucky finding an empty table right when I needed it. The coffee was nothing special – hot and strong as it ought to be, but nothing mind-blowing. However, that sandwich was scrumptious. Warm and flaky with generous doses of ham, egg, and cheese. Exactly what I needed for a morning pick-me-up. I noticed that they offer traditional brunch and lunch fare as well, and I would not hesitate to check the offerings out if I found myself in the area at the right time.

The best brunch ever. Super friendly services and great food and coffee! What more can you ask for? I got the latte and fried egg sandwich so delicious! The sandwich was full of flavor and the bread is of course made in house We had the apple pull apart bread to share for dessert Will be back soon!

Overall, I give Macrina Bakery & Café a 3 star rating. Located in the Sodo District, the café opens from 7 am — 6 pm on weekdays. As it neared 7 am, customers formed a line outside in the cold, waiting to get in. Here are some thoughts from my latest visit: ****** PROS: 1). Many breakfast options that are pretty yummy. I had the ham and cheese brioche with a 12 oz latte, which was pretty good. 2). Good atmosphere and design, with high ceilings. 3). You can see employees kneading handmade bread through a looking glass, just like the dumpling place Din Tai Fung. Very cool! ****** CONS: 1). Street parking is hard to find, which I had to drive back and forth on 1st Ave to find a good spot. 2). WOWZER! It’s so expensive here for breakfast or lunch. Luckily, I wasn’t paying but if I was, I would have definitely reconsidered my selection. Breakfast sandwiches range from about $ 4.50– $ 8.25 each.

I love Macrina. When I lived in Queen Anne, I was frequently at their Queen Anne shop. When I moved to Belltown, that became the new favourite. I am so happy to once again have a Macrina that is convenient to my routine — this is my new Macrina and lucky me, it is also their biggest nicest newest store. Their baked goods are as delicious as always and the staff just as friendly. This store even has a viewing window so you can watch the employees kneading, chopping, sprinkling, scooping, weighing… I’m looking forward to my next visit already.
