Was decent for a teriyaki place. Nothing really special about the place, really. Fair prices for a good portion size. The lady who works here was very sweet to us. Wouldn’t recommend sitting and eating there when its 80 degrees out because they don’t have AC.

I love this place. The couple that works here are courteous and have awesome customer service. I switch between chicken, beef, and pork teriyaki and all options have been tasty. They tend to give you more meat and rice than you need(which is just fine with me), but i wouldnt say they skimp out on the salad. This place has become a regular spot for teriyaki for me.

What better way to use time before a movie(right across the street from Aurora Oak Tree) than with some delicious teriyaki? Spotless restaurant, excellent food and great customer service. When I noticed there was no tofu on the menu, the owner checked with his wife and said they could make either tofu teriyaki or tofu yakisoba. I went with the yaki and was rewarded with a hearty plate of veggies, noodles and crispy on the outside tofu nuggets that were really yummy. My partner was really pleased with the chicken teriyaki, his only regret not getting a large.

After a hectic day we had planned on going to an all you can eat Korean BBQ place we found on Unilocal in Bellvue, but traffic was crazy and it started to rain so we looked for a place near our motel on Aurora Street. Manna was just a three block walk so we hoofed it over. I had the combo Katsu Chicken and Chicken Teriyaki. Both were well prepared and the sauces that came with were delish. I couldn’t finish it due to a generous portion. My friend had the Gyoza, I had the Eggroll as an appetizer. Both were also great. My friend had the stir fry rice with shrimp and he said it was very good. The bill was under $ 20 and we went back and ordered some sandwiches for $ 7 more to take on the road the next day. This is a simple shop… no frills and most people came by for the takeout. I think it’s a husband and wife team… she worked the counter and ran after our orders(maybe she even cooked them like another reviewer states). It was ready fairly quickly and was fresh. My friend is an Asian foodie(from Vietnam) and he loved this place. Truly a littele gem.

I gave this place a couple of chances after the change in ownership but it was terribly disappointing. What used to be the next teriyaki around became mediocre at best. The search continues.

Being that teriyaki places are about as common as Starbucks’ in the Seattle, it’s not often that I review them because they’re roughly all the same. That being said, this one disappointed me a bit so I figured I’d write a review. As far as the menu, it was pretty typical. I ordered the spicy chicken and my wife ordered a California roll and a side salad. When we got our food, they had evidently not understood that she wanted the California roll even though that’s specifically what she asked for, so she had to reorder that and she then ordered miso soup. When she got the food, the California roll was overstuffed and the miso soup was an odd color. She said that neither was very good. The spicy chicken was average. On the whole, there was a bit of a «dirtiness» feeling. The water dispenser was fairly dirty and the water that came out of it tasted dirty. Surfaces didn’t seem to be very well kept. Since there are so many other options, I wouldn’t recommend going here.

One of the reasons I love Seattle is the multitude of teriyaki joints. Unfortunately, many are closed on Sunday. Not Manna, and for that I say, «thank you!». Popped in a Sunday evening for takeout — it’s small, clean, and had a lovely lady behind the counter. The wait for my teriyaki as reasonable, and when I had a chance to dig in — yum! The chicken was fresh and had a good flavor, the teriyaki sauce was a bit too peppery but plenty sweet, the egg roll was tasty, and the salad was very fresh. I’d go back in a flash!

What in the world happened?! I used to go here all the time(for years) before the current owners took over. I went there today, not knowing the owners had changed. Before even getting to how the food is different, just the atmosphere alone is not the same. The previous owner was so friendly and really took pride in her business. This owner just doesn’t seem to care. I ordered my usual chicken teriyaki. Man, was I disappointed?! The chicken was super dry and not fresh tasting at all. Seemed like it was microwaved. The rice wasn’t good either. I tried a few bites but it was so bad. I couldn’t even finish it. I completely wasted my time and money. They don’t even have teriyaki sauce or hot sauce available for customers on the tables. It’s like he’s guarding the sauces. Talk about being cheap. I think any of the positive reviews on here must be for the previous owners. And if any of you know a really good teriyaki place, please let me know.

I’m really impressed. While this place is located in a run down strip of stores in a not-so-aesthetically-pleasing block on Aurora, it has some damn good food for cheap. So don’t judge this book by its cover. I’m not a huge teriyaki fan to begin with, but I just scarfed down a «regular» portion of the spicy chicken teriyaki, and it’s just about perfect. The chicken is properly cooked and juicy. The teriyaki sauce is not too sweet, although it could be a bit more spicy. Oddly, they also serve a tiny cup of ranch dressing with the side salad. Not really into it myself, but the ranch is good. I also ordered the egg rolls, which were clearly store-bought, but tasty nonetheless. As far as portions go, I can’t imagine how much food is in a «large» portion since there’s plenty with the regular entrée. The two older folks working tonight may have been the owners, and they were both very pleasant. I’m grateful to have this place within walking distance of my apartment, and I’ll definitely be back soon!

Pros: fast and fast! The woman at the counter was very friendly. The egg rolls and gyoza were tasty. I do with he gyoza dipping sauce was a bit better. Con’s: the teriyaki sauce was very thin and salty. Like soy sauce with a small amount of sugar added. Chicken was slightly over cooked, making the chicken hard to chew.

Ma and Pa I give you high praise. The lady is pretty old so I will have to say grandma and grandpa shops are great. I think the woman behind the counter did the cooking, cleaning, busing and worked the cashier. It was like she was super grandma. I could tell they were making things fresh as it took 40 mins to get the food. A good teriyaki place is hard to find. Sounds like this place has changed hands a few times so this place isn’t as good as it use to be. I don’t know, it tasted pretty solid and the prices are fairly reasonable. This place would get a revisit from me if I was ever in the vicinity and hungry for teriyaki.

Came into Manna Teriyaki because I live close by and I wanted to give it a try. Store was pretty empty but it was clean and nicely presented. Service was friendly and they had good sized portions. Food was average but the experience was overall positive.

Pretty great teriyaki joint — good helpings for the price! Nothing too special but the owner was a very nice small Asian woman and she was very nice and courteous. The Udon Soup was fantastic and the Chicken Katsu was also good. Wished the salad had dressing other than ranch but it was still good.

This used to be the greatest place in town, hands down. But the last few times I have been so disappointed with the service, portions, price and quality of food. What used to be melt in your mouth chicken has turned into chicken jerky. Dry dry dry. A matter of fact I asked for extra sauce to help with the dryness and the new owner said that I had enough sauce. What? Really? I’ll pay extra for it I said. She charged me $ 1.50 for a mini container that was filled about 1⁄3 of the way. it was about a teaspoon of sauce. I used to get the special every time, chicken and prawns. Used to be incredibly good. Now, you get half the amount and it tastes like a frozen dinner. The prawns all bread. It literally like having a prawn tail dipped in stale breading. I was here when it was the best place in town, but those days are over. I will not be back again.

We ordered the chicken teriyaki, chicken breast teriyaki and Cali rolls(they were the advertised special). I loved that our food arrived with nice presentation! The utensils and tables were clean and the woman who took our order pleasant. Surprisingly the rolls were fresh and tasty! Even when eating left overs later that evening, they were really good! My chicken breast was thin the way I love it and their sauce wasn’t too sweet. It was heavy on the ginger which is the way I enjoy my teriyaki. My hunny enjoyed his as well. So, I’m pretty sure we’ll be back!

Price to amount of food in unbelievable. It’s so much food!!! The food is ok on taste and quick to serve. We always eat here. usually 3 – 4 of us from our degree program when we feel like eating rice type dishes. I have never left here feeling like I didn’t get enough food, service is pleasant as well. I just wish the food taste a lot better. It’s just avg tasting.

A long time ago, we used to be friends; but I haven’t thought of you lately at all… A moment of silence, please; the golden era of Manna Deli has passed. Once it changed hands, they changed the sauce and portions. For the same price, you now get smaller meals, and the spicy chicken is just average. How could the new owners mess with perfection? What did they do to the sauce? Did they not get the recipe along with the shop? This new version of Manna Deli’s food is edible. That’s about all I can say nicely.

What used to be the best teriyaki joint in Seattle has now joined the indistinguishable legions of mediocre ones after a change of ownership. The place looks the same and has the same menu, but the food has changed dramatically. No more big juicy pieces of char-grilled chicken, delicious spicy sauce, homemade ranch, or huge scoops of steamed rice. I used to be amazed at the gigantic portions for around $ 10, but the same«large» order is now half the size. It’s just your average teriyaki now. So sad.

Communication is key to many things in life, but when it comes to ordering teriyaki here, that wasn’t the case. My boyfriend and I wanted to try this place since it was close and there were many good reviews. He called in to place an order to-go and it seemed like it was one of the most difficult tasks to do. We wanted the #1 to be spicy and the #5 to be non-spicy, but the lady on the other line kept saying«#1 spicy? #5 spicy?» repeatedly for about 10 times. It was a little frustrating trying to place an order and wondering if the person even understands what you’re trying to say. When we came to pick up our order, the lady was surprised when we told her that we called earlier to place an order.(Seriously?) Not only did we have to place our order AGAIN in person, but we repeatedly kept trying to tell her that #1 is spicy and #5 is not spicy. Well she made #1 pretty spicy all right as I watched her drench the chicken teriyaki with half a bottle of the spicy sauce. I guess I could have told her to have the sauce on the side, but she might not have understood that either. When we came home to eat, we realized that she forgot to give us any napkins or utensils. However, I do give them credit for giving us huge portions of food for the price. I could probably split a large order into 2 – 3 meals. The chicken was delicious and not too fatty, but the insane amount of spicy sauce covering it killed my experience for me. It was REALLY spicy. I could only eat 1⁄3 of it so that I could recover from the heat. All in all, my first impression of this place wasn’t that great and I’m not sure if the quality of their food justifies their terrible service. I’m just a little perplexed as to how people can order food here and not worry about miscommunication all the time.
