My daughters love taking lessons here! They both have been taking piano lessons, one for over six months, one for twelve months. Their teacher, Emily is super awesome and helped them find songs they love to play, like songs from Minecraft or Plants vs Zombies. They adapt and simplify these for their level. The scheduler and the school is very professional overall as well.

Awesome contemporary music school w hip young teachers that really inspire youth. No old guys cracking your knuckles with a ruler! They print out music your kid knows and likes at the right level for their ability. The also do recitals at Hard Rock Café!

My son has taken piano with Jason and drums with Josh, both great teachers. The school is well organized with really stellar email communication from Sunshine. We just attended our first recital at Hard Rock and it was super fun and positive. I highly recommend this music school.

I love this place. I would give it a 4.9 if I could and the only reason for knocking off 0.1 is because of the drive from Kent to Wallingford. But other than that, it’s great. The teachers don’t feel like teachers, they feel like your buddies. The curriculum is fantastic, they go just the right pace. The school itself is cool. The best part is the price. The best deal is four lessons a month but I want to learn more than others and opted for 10 lessons a month which is alot more money but I’m okay paying it because I feel this place deserves all of the money.

My 11 year old daughter has been taking guitar lessons with Emily for a little over a year and she’s really enjoying it. Emily really helps her stay engaged with letting her learn a variety of songs, and helps her when she’s stuck on something without letting it reach a point where she gets discouraged.
The best part is that my daughter never dreads coming to her weekly lesson, or even practicing throughout the week. I wish they had lessons like this when I was learning an instrument, I might still be playing!

This is a great music school and lot of fun for kids. They had a recital in Hard Rock Café in this year. The school owner makes his own textbooks and uses it. I’m sure your kids will love music and enjoy it.

This place has the right balance of fun and structure. My son has learned a lot about playing his instrument, and has stayed enthusiastic and interested. His instructor, Chris, introduces fun songs to play, and always has something novel to add to the mix. The online scheduling, billing and reminders are helpful and convenient. And, the rock band summer camp was great! Good times, and also a nice way to try out different instruments and connect with other kids.

Off the Wall Music School is a GEM! I originally found and selected them for my first whack at learning the guitar because of the great reviews I read on Unilocal.And holy smokes have they lived up to it for me!
I am an adult student, learning to play the acoustic guitar for the first time. I really thought this might be very difficult for me, but my instructor has made learning it so much less intimidating and fun. I am taking a weekly lesson with him and each week I leave with a few new things to master that build off of the prior week. The style and organization in which I am being taught allows for great achievements felt all along the way — which is exactly the motivation I need to stick with something! My instructor is Matt, and I’d recommend him to anyone, he’s fantastic!

Our 8 YO daughter naturally loves to play piano, so the last thing we needed were traditional piano lessons from a standard music school to drain her of her passion. We found exactly what we need here and Jason has been a fantastic fit. In keeping with the fun vibe of the place, Jason follows the kid’s musical leanings but is equally adept at teaching and introducing new pop, jazz and classical music.
Their admin specialist, Sunshine, is responsive and, once you get the hang of it, their online scheduling /​billing program works well.
The lessons are affordable and fun, the teachers seem to be having fun and their recitals are at the Hard Rock Café, what more could you ask for?

This place is amazing! I love the varying degrees of students and lesson opportunities! I just started ukulele lessons and I have learned so much in two lessons my friends are very impressed (as am I)! Emily is an amazing instructor and I am excited to continue on and then learn guitar next!

My 12 year old has been going to Off The Wall School of Music for guitar lessons for nearly two years now and it’s been nothing short of awesome. His teacher, Matt, has a wonderful personality and great teaching skills.
The school offers many opportunities throughout the year for kids to rehearse for and play in live shows– thusfar at the Hard Rock Café downtown. That kind of experience really builds confidence, and teaches the kids stage presence and how to roll with the punches.
In addition to Matt, everyone who works or teaches there is really nice. I highly recommend OTW.

This music school helped my child learn guitar very well in only about 1 year. At first she couldn’t play any chord on a guitar, and now she can play any chord you say! 5 Stars for sure! Although, I hoped she would learn some Led Zeppelin songs, they do teach Taylor Swift and One Direction. Maybe when she’s older…

Our 9-​year-​old has been taking piano lessons here for a few months now. We were worried that he wouldn’t be excited, and wouldn’t want to practice, but his teacher, Jason, gives him fun songs that are easy-​to-​learn, and has been gradually building to harder pieces. He’s played a few pop hits, a few fun older songs (Yellow Submarine, etc), and he’s playing the Star Wars theme song now. When I was a kid, piano lessons meant classical, classical, classical. And there’s nothing wrong with that, except that it’s much better to get kids to play what they love, than forcing them to love a tradition. I wish I’d loved my lessons as much!
Highly recommended. The staff is great and our kid is LOVING playing music, which is all we hoped for.

Off the Wall Music is the best place our daughter has ever been for music instruction. She has grown immensely in all her concentrations. They have incredible instructors, convenient scheduling, and reasonable rates. It’s a really fun place to learn and be involved with. We’ve had a blast. Thank you Chris, Emily, Sarah, and of course, Sunshine!

This place is great! I’ve taken voice lessons here and am currently taking guitar lessons with Matt. Here are the reasons I like this place:
1. It’s a small, privately owned studio. I’ve met the owner Chris before, and he’s a friendly and down-​to-​earth guy that knows his stuff and really enjoys teaching. Always makes me feel good to meet the owner of a place I frequent.
2. Ample street parking– yay!
3. Teachers run their lessons on time. Omg, thank you.
4. You can schedule your lessons online.
5. Matt is an awesome guitar teacher. I learn so much in 30 minutes, and he teaches me at a good level that challenges me, but doesn’t overwhelm me. I also especially like how he asks me what songs I want to learn instead of just imparting me with his own agenda.
Would definitely recommend this place. Go Off the Wall!

I’m giving Off the Wall School of Music a 5+. The atmosphere is relaxed, incredibly welcoming and really bent on making the lesson time fun and engaging. Booking appointments was easy. Paying was even easier. My niece was matched well with her instructor and she looks forward to that 30 minutes every week. She sits down at the piano now with confidence and without reserve. Her goal is to play every «piano in the park“before she heads home to Minnesota.
Thanks again Off the Wall for making her summer vacation so memorable!

I just did a ½ hour free piano lesson and I am definitely coming back for more!
I learned so much in just 30 minutes! I have always been intimidated by learning how to read music, and my teacher made it so fun and easy. I feel so inspired and supported, I am coming back for more!
Their online class scheduling makes it very easy and convenient, plus they offer classes on weekends which works great for me.
