I really want to like this BBQ. The brisket sandwich had good quality meat. BUT like a previous reviewer said, it’s like a forced smoke flavor that over powers the meat. I also tried the baked potato and it was cooked in the same overwhelming almost artificial flavor. It was dry and grey. The garnish on the potato was bacon and the smoky flavor even cancelled out the bacon’s taste. If that type of BBQ is your thing at least they are more reasonably priced.

So let’s be honest, there aren’t any good BBQ places to get proper BBQ in Washington. So when I had to move from Fort Hood, TX to be stationed at Fort Lewis, I knew that it would be a challenge to get something that would take me back to Texas. Well, I think I have probably found a diamond in the rough. My wife and I had kind of made a spontaneous plan to come out to Pike’s Place to grab some lunch, so when we saw that Pike’s Pit was open, we jumped at the chance to try it. For someone who is accustomed to the proper flavor of Texas BBQ, this place is has got it. I had the brisket sandwich with crunchy slaw and mild BBQ sauce. I’m more into the flavor then heat. So remember in the beginning how I mentioned that I needed something to transport me back to Texas? Well, I may have found just that. The smokey flavor of the meat and the savory taste of the BBQ sauce were on point. The meat was cooked perfectly and I loved how the crunchy slaw added a perfect crunchy texture to the sandwich, and the onion flavor of the bun pulled it all together for a perfect flavored sandwich that took me back to a happy place. Shauna(one of the managers, I think) was friendly and very cheerful. It was also awesome to meet the man in charge of cooking all the meats to perfection. Shot outs to Ernie, this is Scott BTW I’m the Niners and warriors fan, thanks for making my wife and I feel welcomed and comfy and just taking the time to chat with us, you’re probably one of the nicest guys I’ve met out here. The meats are on point and awesome! Keep up the outstanding work! To the rest of the work staff, you all made my wife and I’s dining experience awesome! So, for those reading this review, if you have made it this far in reading my review, there is no other BBQ place to try but this place… HANDSDOWN!!!

This place is good if you’re hungry and want convenience. They have Bbq, Potatoes which are not consistent in size, actually a winner in my book and one of my fav foods Roasted turkey legs which was done quite well. Located in the Heart of Pike Place market it is good for a quick meal while shopping. Service was so/so as we waited a couple of min before being greeted but they made up for it throughout the meal. More napkins and maybe some wetnaps as these items are a bit messy and sticky. Go for the Turkey Legs!

Stopped in today with some friends for a quick bite while we were out visiting seattle. Amazing food. A bit messy, we had two mini sandwiches for my husband and I. One chicken and one brisket. Hot sauce on the brisket and mild on the chicken. They were amazing! A bit messy but they came with forks. If you have to eat a BBQ sandwich with a fork, ain’t nothing wrong there. My friend had the brisket mini with no sauce and said it was amazing. And we tried the ribs since you could buy them separately. We sat and ate at the counter there and watched the crew work. Awesome positive attitudes from all and we enjoyed seeing how they worked! We will be back!

It’s infrequent to find a truly welcoming, fun, friendly, and fantastic food experience here in Seattle. This place has the FULL package. I’ve been a fan of Peco’s since 2007 when I first went, didn’t realize Pike’s Pit was an extension of the legend. The food here speaks for itself, everything is smoked to perfection… Everything is superb. In Pike Place, only the strong survive, I anticipate Pike’s Pit will have a very long run here and become an institution just like Peco’s. Most times I’ve been here, I snag it and head back to the office. Today I decided to sit at the bar and it was by far one of the BEST food experience’s that I’ve had. Tim, who was putting together sandwiches at an unprecedentedly fast pace turned around and offered samples, gave us the history of the location, and generally made me feel like this was something he loved and believed in. I’m the type that if I’m offered free food, I’m happy… But this went far beyond freebies, it was a love for the customer experience that made this such a wonderful time. Now, the fact the food is outstanding makes this experience exponentially more valuable. This is the EXACT experience that turns an infrequent customer into a regular. I cannot speak highly enough of this business, as someone always looking for a great lunch downtown, it’s nice to find a place where people truly care about your experience and ensure that every time you order you are truly pleased. THANKYOU!

Came here to grab lunch to go on a weekday. Short line, but the ordering line was slow. The people working there were super friendly and very nice. I got the mini with chopped brisket topped with slaw and a side of potato salad. They made the wrong sandwich and gave me the regular. Mini is on a hamburger bun and the regular is on a larger onion bun. The buns suck and are tasteless. The brisket was delicious and the sauce was not my favorite. The slaw on top was sparse and a disaster. I ended up picking off most of the meat and eating the sandwich with a fork. I wouldn’t say I’m a bbq connoisseur, but I don’t think this one is any good. Chuck hole in the wall has a much better sandwich. Lastly their potato salad– not vegetarian friendly was basically a bacon potato salad so that was good albeit a bit salty. I wouldn’t recommend stopping here, there is better bbq and food nearby.

Every new town we visit. large part of our time is to explore local food. lets get to the point! we got smoked brisket, smoked turkey leg, and 3 side… The brisket … I don’t even know how to say it … they are absolutely«flavorless» i mean no beef flavor at all… with a very mild smoke flavor on the surface. Thats it. unfortunately the turkey leg is the same… we have one bite … and we throw away both brisket & turkey leg. too much good food here in Seattle. no point to take up our limited stomach real estate. I believe they boiled the meat with a flavorless liquid(broth or water) it really doen’t matter since they are no flavor ATALL. and quick smoke it. seriously … are u in hurry? the seems to me the brisket only smoked for 2 hrs or less … or may be their smoker is leaking smoke! The turkey leg possibly the same _why I said that? cause the texture of the skin & the meat itself. the skin should have tension because moisture is drawn during the smoking process… but not in this case… the skin is moist… wtf??? I am disappointed. for the flavorless smoked products they sold and also where is the cook? or manager? did anyone check and taste before they let it sold to the public??? I hope this is only a mishap … since I do notice there are plenty of 4 stars reviews on Unilocal … Here my 2 cents — taste taste taste!!! if you don’t taste you won’t know… … you rather has nothing to sell … and have peoples line up and wait… rather than sell them to the public and have a bad reputation about the business. good luck! love and care what you do !

Good food great options including salads. Good service and friendly staff. Try the walkabout with brisket. The best potatoe salad around hands down. Tim is a great chef and does an awesome job connecting with customers!

Great BBQ has arrived in Seattle! My Seattle life is now complete… okay, maybe I still have a few more things on my wish list, but Pike’s Pit Barbecue fills a very important void in my life. If you’re from Texas or Kansas, okay, we get it, it’s not like Franklin’s BBQ in Austin or Jack Stack’s in Kansas City, but Pike’s Pit BBQ is more than solid. Admittedly, I’ve only tried their beef brisket, which I purchased by the pound and stuffed into my purse to hide my fat-assery from my friends(though my subtlety didn’t pay off because there was no hiding the sweet smell of barbecued meat). I highly recommend the beef brisket, it’s tender, juicy, lean with just the right amount of burnt edges and a thin layer of fat(you may be disappointed if you like your brisket a bit more fatty). What blew my mind was the sauce. They have mild, medium and spicy version of the BBQ sauce and I opted for the medium. It was actually pretty spicy already, so beware. I think I would be happy to slather that goodness all over white rice and call it a meal. This place is located right by the main fish stand inside Pike Place Market, so there’s not really any seating. I love you, Pike’s Pit BBQ sauce.

I hate to admit I’m very disappointed in this restaurant I came in and ordered a barbecue beef with the sauce on the side to go and it was so much fat in the barbecue beef that I basically had to throw the whole sandwich out next time I come in there I want to say something to the manager Check your food before you leave Very sad

Tried this place today while wandering aimlessly around pike place. Got the brisket sandwich hot(spicy) with chips and a drink. The sandwich was gigantic with a ton of meat. The spicy barbecue sauce was delicious and the bun was the right bun for the job. They probably could’ve just gave me the amount of meat that was in the sandwich and I would’ve been full. I was mad at myself after starting to eat it for not seeing all the toppings I could’ve put on it. Definitely will add slaw next time. The prices are a little high but that’s to be expected in pike place. The staff was friendly and entertaining. I will probably check it out again next time I’m in Seattle.

I have no complaints about the bbq itself, but damn that medium sauce had more kick than I was expecting! Also, the pulled pork sammich was so big I barely touched my side of beans, which were good and sweet. I thought they were kind of spicy also, but that could be because my tongue was coated in their medium bbq sauce and was kind of going numb. I picked my my sammich and got down and dirty with it. Sauce was smeared across half my face and my mouth was full when the girl asked if we were enjoying our meal. She took one look at me and laughed and brought me a napkin. Good service, yay! Next time I go I’ll be sure to post a «sammich aftermath» picture. Also you’ll smell like bbq for about 4hrs after you eat there, but it’s a delicious perfume and I won’t complain. ;)

After sampling their BBQ when they had just opened, I’ve been dying to go here and try more. I stopped by for lunch today and samples the brisket and the chopped pork. They were both absolutely delicious. The Brisket had a wonderful smokey flavor, the meat melted in my mouth while the crust had that tiny bit of a bite to it. Loved it. I also sampled and then eventually for the chopped pork. It was extremely tender, succulent and full of flavor. I sampled it with the mild sauce but I would probably recommend the medium since the mild is a little too sweet. I took a half pound of it to go with their hottest sauce on the side. Be warned, this is really really hot sauce. The only reason I got it was because I planned to make a pasta dish with the pork and mix up some sauces. If you are getting the sandwich or just the pork, stick with medium. My only complaint is that they need to package their meats to go in a better way. By the time I got home, half the juices had been absorbed by the packing paper and the meat was a lot more dry than what I had sampled. Overall I really loved everything I’ve tasted here so far. I will definitely keep going back for more since it is so close to home and very reasonably priced. Thanks Ashley and team for finally bringing some great BBQ to downtown Seattle.

GREATGOOGLYMOOGLY, PECOSPITBBQAVAILABLEINTHEMARKET! It’s Pecos Pit BBQ, the best in Seattle. It’s way more accessible, way more fun, and just as delicious. Me, I eat the pulled pork extra messy with medium sauce. So glad they are in Pike Place!

Food was messy. 7 stools + 1ADA, so if it’s a peak time, you’ll have to eat elsewhere. SPICY! I like spicy, but«medium» took an effort to finish my sandwich & I couldn’t finish my beans. I chose my sandwich spicy level, but the beans were as is. Staff are friendly. Everyone walking by comments on how delicious it smells. Napkins are heavy duty as they should be. I would skip the beans next time(painfully) & go for«mild»

I ordered bulk meat to go: half a pound of pork and half a pound of brisket. By the time I got home, the juice had soaked into the wrapping, and the meat itself was very dry. There’s no way I could have eaten it without a ton of sauce, and even then, it was an effort — unfortunately, even smoked meat isn’t good when it’s that dry. More minor, but worth noting, I asked for chopped pork, which my receipt also showed, but when I unwrapped it, it was one whole piece. I also asked for the brisket to be sliced, and it had been roughly sliced into four pieces ranging from ½″ to 1″ in thickness. Maybe it’s presumptuous of me, but I was imagining meat sliced at a thickness that would be perfect to put on a sandwich immediately; I wasn’t expecting to have to take out my own cutting board and knife and slice it myself. At any rate, this is the thickness you can expect from their sliced brisket. Overall, it wasn’t a great experience, and I’m not sure I’ll be back to try their sandwiches.

Wonderful service and super nice staff. Having seen someone else order a super fatty piece, the bf and I ordered the brisket. When we got ours it was a little dry. Not as fatty as we expected. Sliced, not chopped. AWESOMEBBQSAUCE. Medium
