Well shoot, sad this place closed, was always a favorite of ours. Quickly server, great flavors, easy location. It will be missed

I’ve only been here to this location a couple of times, and each time, my pita turns out well. Pretty mediocre. I love the fun style and colors they decorated with. Chalk, and cartoonish characters. However, I’ve noticed that it lacks… customers. The last time I came on a Friday night, and I was the only person there(Minus the one cashier/server/cook) Sitting at one of their 3 tables. I decided to come back today, to redeem this voucher I bought online.(Kind of like groupon, etc) I also used the voucher beforehand. Buuut as my friend and I walked up the Ave, we were shocked to see that its CLOSED! Splattered on the window said«Closed for GOOD» and inside was dark and dirty. Poo! What’s even worse is that I don’t get my refund back from my voucher. I have to go through Pita Pit management – which is a hassle! Do I even bother?!(Since it was only valid at that location). Should have seen it coming… it was bound to!

Tried to go here for lunch yesterday, sadly there was a sign on the door saying they are closed for good. Oh Pita Pit I will miss you and your quick, delicious healthier fast food. :(

Good food. Friendly staff, but you have to talk to them first as they don’t seem like the type to be friendly first to strangers. Great location. I had the falafel. It was like subway-style with my choices of various ingredients. But unlike subway they have an industrial pan grill thing.

Pretty good, but also pretty generic. It’s subway in a pita. Although, Subway doesn’t offer falafel which is why I come to Pita Pit. The falafel is awesome. It’s always college students and young kids working, I don’t know why everyone is expecting great service and for college kids to be pleasant and nice. If I worked there, I wouldn’t be friendly either.

I work at the U and come over here for lunch all the time. The food is tasty and since the new owners took over I don’t have to crouch in order to see the ingredients. I like that the nutrition is easy to access on the website so this is my go-to for a mid-range calorie lunch. I’ve had wonderful experiences with the staff who know me and are always willing to chat. One of the guys(I don’t remember his name but he has dark hair and glasses) is also a fruit on sandwiches person so we’ve had some great discussions about food. Yay apple slices and goat cheese on multi-grain! My typical sammich is feta, tzatziki, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, pickles, pepperchini, olives and pineapple on wheat which always tastes great and keeps me filled up until dinner.

Like other people said, the Subway of pitas. Like other people said, staff was kind of rude(though I didn’t knock off any points for it). Like other people said, it was ok. Like other people said, it was somewhat healthy. I had the grilled chicken pita and I added tzatziki, feta, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion… ok, so I made a chicken gyro. Sue me. It tasted alright, but it was a little over $ 8 for the pita and a soda which I felt was a little more than it should be. Oh well, I ate it, and I will most likely come here again some day. The Subway of pitas, The Pita Pit offers a wide variety of pitas. The interior can be a little nauseating if you look at the bug-eyed food caricatures for too long, but the food itself is good and filling. This isn’t a place to get an authentic, flavorful pita. It’s more like a place you go to for a filling, healthy, and somewhat affordable lunch. I’ve had the Falafel Pita and the Chicken Souvlaki Pita. Like Subway, nothing is set here in terms of what you order other than the main ingredient. You can choose a plain or wheat pita, and go down the line to pick your veggies and sauces. The falafels are basic and stick to the expected. The souvlaki, on the other hand, is full of flavor, and comes hot off the grill when you order. The Greek spices they use are great, and they really help to set apart this pita from the rest. They have lots of other options for the main ingredient, but I don’t think I’ll try most of them because I guess I never really like to have cold cuts in my pita. I’m definitely planning to try the Gyro Pita next time though. Some people get intimidated by all the choices you have to put into your pita. Unlike what I do at Subway(adding almost every ingredient), I’d recommend keeping it simple here. I also like to keep it relatively Greek. I usually like to throw in some Tzatziki, Hummus, Lettuce, Tomato, Sprouts, Onion, and Cucumber. I’ve tried my Subway strategy at The Pita Pit before, and it didn’t seem to mix very well in a pita’d situation. But really, just go for what you like, and I’m sure it’ll come out tasting great. You also have to love the way they wrap up the pita into a convenient, hand-held lunch. I have no doubt that during my years here in Seattle, I’ll be making plenty of pit-stops at The Pita Pit. GET: Chicken Souvlaki Pita(keep it simple)

This place is gross! I’ve had an ok pita pit experience in other cities but this one needs to né shut down. The dude at the counter was talking about taking a dump on some hooker from the back of The Stranger. Then he asked«what can I get you» Now that you grossed me out … Hmm… Nothing you filthy creep.

Jesus, I love this place. If you haven’t had it try the Dagwood. Roast Beef, Ham, Turkey all cooked up on a flat iron grille and stuffed in a pita with fresh veggies. What in the hell is not to like people. Have you checked out the nutrition facts on this place? Its healthier than subway for Christ sake. 360 calories for my favorite pita that fills me all the way up till the next meal. All the complaints about this place are bullsheet. You don’t like it then you shouldn’t be in the U dist. Crack heads, hookers, whores, bums, REEEAAALLLLCHHHHAAANNNGGEEEE, it all comes with the territory. I love the pita pit. I might franchise one of these…

Nothing was amazing but… I don’t really care… Pita Pit can be eaten while walking back to work after spending too much time being non-decisive on what I wanted to eat for lunch. When I entered I must have looked bewilder because the counter guy tried to help a girl out– at least he didn’t just stare at me! Veggie or meat he wanted to know. With the narrowing Mr. tattoo and piercings galore gave me my options– it is easy you see! I went«veggie only one with no cheese» and the ms. high school«can you buy alcohol for my friends?» Blondie made my whole wheat pita with piled high veggies. I wanted it all– spinach, cucumber, tomato, sprouts, lettuce, etc. She also collaborated with me on a low cal sauce to slather it in– mustard y’all no calories or tazikki(real yogurt not mayo– she said). My pita was fresh, on the bigger side, slightly tasty, and was about $ 5– I can deal with that

If I were a rich woman, I would have a Pita Pit installed in my own kitchen.(That and a Blizzard machine, but that’s beside the point). So many options, and a pretty guilt-free treat! The best is when they wrap up your pita like a little baby bunting and hand it to you to go. And then you bite its head off. No stress, no mess. There’s not much else I can say, really. Except that the one at WSU is clearly better.

It’s gotten better with the new management… I think a year ago, two college grads bought the place… so it’s on the up BUT: Come on guys, make sure those veggies are fresh And your employees… need a little review in customer service. It could be cleaner… but it’s not digusting.

Went for dinner last night when nothing else on «the ave» seemed to sound good. It hit the spot. Quick– good service and food quality was very good. Not busy but that’s to be expected on a saturday evening. The meat we both chose was good and I thought all of the ingredients were tasty. Overall I was very happy with the choice and will be back soon! I will say that it doesn’t compare to the pita pit in Pullman– that place is the best. UW’s pita pit will do for the time being.

It’s Pita Pit. You usually only see them near college campuses. As you can see from the other reviews its main appeal is often it’s ultra late hours. So you can expect what the food might be like. But at 2:30 does it really matter? But you could always go to burger hut where, IMO, the food’s better even at that late hour. There are hippies staffing it, they used to be rude but the last couple times I’ve been here they weren’t. Which was a nice change. The meat’s always super frozen before being cooked, tastes like that, the veggies are usually pretty soft, they feel a day or two old. But it’s not terrible, it’s just not great either. It’s Pita Pit.

Maybe it’s because there is a Pita Pit in Eugene and I ate a ton of the stuff in college with my then-boyfriend, now-husband, so there are good memories associated with it — I love the Pita Pit! I didn’t know it was even a chain until I graduated and moved to Seattle(their crazy vegetables with googly eyes signage should have been a dead giveaway, though) and found more of them here. Their employees are practically Saints, given that I was there at 1:30 a.m. last Saturday night after birthday shenanigans at Über and The Little Red Hen. Man, I’d be surly if I was working Saturday late night! But they were nice. A pita with hummus and all the vegetables is not only delicious but excellent hangover prevention — think of all the vitamins and fiber you are getting! Despite the many and varied shots I was fed at LRH, I felt great the next day. Thank you Pita Pit!

I wanted to like this place, but with its«we’ll cover up the lack of any flavors with cheese» policy, I just couldn’t. I’m not positive that this is a chain restaurant, but it certainly tastes like it with its«trying to please everyone» neutral menu. Also, really, if I claim there is too much cheese, it’s a bad scene. In a pinch, it has veggie stuff, but I recommend you just eat at the bar, the place next door, or wait until you get home.

In addition to alcohol making the unattractive attractive, it also makes the tasteless tasty. Every college campus has to have one, and honestly, thats about all where they belong. Even now, I’d still rather risk getting robbed at the closest ATM to get money for that expensive cab ride down(and back) to chinatown for my latenight grubbin.

After striking out my first day on the Ave, for the next day I went to the ‘E’ for advice, and one of the places he suggested was The Pita Pit. Yet another place with ridiculously friendly, enthusiastic service. Sigh, I could get used to this. The place is fairly big and open, and considering it was a weekday at lunchtime, surprisingly devoid of students and populated more by working folks. Not being familiar with this chain, and being too lazy to read the whole menu, I asked the guy for what was best. He suggested the chicken with teriyaki sauce and grilled pineapple. Sure, why not. OK, if that was it, it would have been kind of boring. But then I got the opportunity to choose my veggies and sauces. For veggies, I chose lettuce(how awesome that I got to choose between romaine and iceberg — I detest iceberg, so it was nice to have the option), tomato, cucumber, and red onions. I was going to hold off on sauces, since my chicken was already grilled with teriyaki sauce, but I decided to get crazy and add hummus and tzatziki to the mix. Amazingly, it was an excellent combo! Needless to say, that pita was in my belly within a minute or so. It was extremely satisfying. In addition to the food, I was really pleased with the employees; I appreciated that when the crowd died down, they kept busy by wiping down tables, etc.etc., instead of slacking and chatting. Gotta love industriousness. I would certainly come here again and recommend it to others. And the hours are awesome! While I don’t live in Seattle, I do live in a university town and we don’t have places open this late, so I really appreciate the fact that something like this is available so late at night.
