I came here for my birthday and was so disappointed with the service. It was a Wednesday night and not that busy and in our 4 hour reservation our server only came by enough times to get 2 rounds of drinks… I only had 2 cocktails the whole time because she never came when we pressed the call button. My friends, who had to get home to relieve their sitter, waited 45 mins to get their bill, 45 minutes!!! They were late getting back home and their sitter charged them. My other friends who told our server they weren’t staying the whole time were told by her that they had 15 mins or she was going to start charging them for every 15 mins extra they were there. Unbelievable. I do karaōke every year on my birthday but probably won’t be going back here unless the service improves.

The bouncer thinks he’s a cop and wouldn’t let me in because he was thought I was drinking an alcoholic beverage. I threw the drink away and he still refused to let me and my friends in. Even to cancel my reservation so I wouldn’t get charged for missing it.

I had no idea we even had a Japanese style karaōke place until my friend tipped me on it. I’ve been there twice now, and both time I was not let down. It is so much more fun to get to sing with all your friends instead of a huge group of strangers. And it is kinda cool having someone come to the room to bring you your drinks and snacks. I have plans to go back a couple more time so I definitely give them 5 stars.

The rent a cop security guards outside this establishment decided that my friends ID was fake and proceeded to confiscate it. Only with the help of Seattle PD were we able to get his ID back. After having waited for 45 min and putting a deposit for karaōke, security decided that we weren’t allowed back in

Amazing for the karaōke die hards! This place is the best to really exercise the vocal chords. One of the few spots in the city you can reserve private rooms to sing, but I generally find myself in the main bar area because it’s free to sing there and your requests are played fairly quickly unless it is late on a Fri/Sat evening. There is usually a really fun crowd in the main area as well. Sunday is all day HH both on private room reservations and drinks which is hard to beat! It’s so much fun to reserve a room if you have a large group or pop in the main area if it’s just you and a friend. You can order snacks and food in the private rooms if you are hungry — but mostly it’s great for singing and drinking.

Need a place to drink and sing some karaōke in Capitol Hill, this is the spot! Although most would argue their prices for room rentals and drinks aren’t the cheapest, I’d say try it, before you rule it out. They have plenty of weekday specials that a worth trying after a long hard day at work. They offer both very large party rooms, as well various sized small rooms. They have a two hour minimum, but those two definitely went by fast once the good times were rolling. Their song selection is very modern and diverse. They’ve got almost everything you’d want to hear from karaōke classics to top 40 radio hits. I find myself here at least once every few months, when my friends and I want to change things up and do some karaōke.

This place is so nice. I love the décor, has a nice fancy touch to it too! The karaōke rooms are intimate, even has cool lighting in the rooms, I think it was green lights in our room. They gave us snacks too. Drinks were good. The lighting overall is nice here. People go cray with the karaōke lol lol — I had a lot of fun! Oh and the seats… wow, they are so comfy! It’s so gorg in here. And everyone is SO nice. I highly recommend this place.

A great karaōke location! This bar was packed full of people all having a great time when I went! The mood was infectious and I talked with many groups of people. The drinks were reasonably priced and were served quickly. Cannot wait to go back!

Great joint to have an intimate karaōke night with friends ! I had the pleasure of reserving a room for a birthday surprise and the rock box made it very easy and even gave me a reminder call a couple days prior. The reservation process requires a card to be on hold for a 50% deposit in the case that you don’t show. The servers were great in splitting our bills making it easier and less of a headache. Great song selection, acoustics and sound proof from other rooms for the most part. Dim lighting making it less intimidating to sing in front of others. Overall great experience — staff and service. Would want to go back for the happy hour $ 4 per hr price :)

Can’t wait to come back. Friend reserved a room for 9 — fit 9 perfectly. Lots of song options, technology was easy to use and honestly, the whole place was rocking. $ 7per person per hour but seemed like a steal of a deal after singing for 2 hours.

Absolutely loved this place! We called ahead with a reservation for three hours and I’m so glad we did because when we left it was packed. I’ve read that they have bigger rooms but the one we got was perfect for five people. Great selection of songs… easy interface to navigate. Service was great! Our waitress checked up on frequently to see if we needed more drinks or water. You are more than welcome to go out to the bar and get your own too. Definitely would come here again, I’d say this is the best karaōke place in WA!

This place really does it for me. You walk in and you’re instantly confronted with music! People are generally in the front room singing karaōke as they wait for their room reservation. Or if you’re not in the mood for a private room you can do more traditional public karaōke just in the front room. There’s a bar to get drinks while you wait, which is nice if you just do a walk in and have to wait a bit. The staff is very friendly and upbeat, often taking turns belting out their own favorite songs! They are always checking if you’ve been before to make sure you understand how everything works. It’s just such a fun atmosphere the second you step in. If you haven’t been before… It goes a bit like this. You can either make a reservation or walk in and see if they have any rooms. You get a room that accommodates your party, whether it’s you and a friend or a work party. Based on the size of the room you get 2+ microphones. From there you’ll see a big television, and an iPad on the couch. You use the iPad to pick songs and voila! You’re in a swanky room with your people bellowing out the words to your favorite 90’s pop! A waiter will check in on you to keep the drinks coming. You pay by the hour, and can extend your time in the room if they don’t have people waiting. Rock Box is awesome, I’m so happy their in Seattle! I can’t wait until my next trip… I’m thinking«Hit me baby one more time».

Rock Box is so much fun! The food, the drinks, and your own multi-colored-lighted, private room! They have so, so many song options, of many genres, decades, and languages/cultures. I get so excited when I go to rock box. I can fulfill my fantasy of being a pop star.

I have never been to Rock Box before. A co-worker recommended it for a little TGIF Happy Hour fun. I actually liked everything about this place, from the intimacy of the space, the menu, the cocktails, the service and the song book. Forget writing your song choice down on a piece of paper, you can pickyour song on an ipad and que it up. I love that you dont have to wait rediculous amounts of time to sing. I am already planning my birthday party here. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend the popcorn, the blood orange mojito, lychee martini and the hello kitty cocktail. Delish! There were 5 of us, the total for room and plenty of drinks and some snacks for 2.5 hours was $ 250.

This place has GONEDOWNTHEDRAIN and I’ll give you many reasons why. First off, this place is getting 2 stars and NOT1 because of Mikey, our server, who was extremely nice and understanding, and the fact that there were available rooms on Sunday when it first opened. Ok let’s get to the shitty aspects: first, parking is a nightmare. Unless you were lucky like me and secured a spot along that little street, you are probably better off UBERing to Rock Box or parking at Seattle University to walk your ass over. Second, technical difficulties! It was to the point of ridiculous where almost every song I put in there was some glitch and the screen froze! Wtf?! Third, apparently this place does not purchase the actual music to the songs, which you will notice when you choose a song that the song is not the actual song BUT a variation that has a different key, pitch, or lack of a chorus. That’s a little fucked up if you ask me. People go to karaōke places to sing songs that they’ve heard on the radio, at clubs, or downloaded. They don’t want to hear some knockoff version or variation of a song that sounds«off.» If you are too cheap to purchase the actual song, then don’t be running a karaōke place. So my new love is Stone Karaōke in Bellevue: the place has ALL the songs I want to sing, awesome special effects in the room, most if not all of the music videos(which is pretty damn impressive), and NO technical issues(what a concept!). Sorry, Rock Box, we are breaking up and I am officially leaving you. #sorrynotsorry

I’ve spent an embarrassing number of hours in Rock Box crooning away while slurping jello shots. It’s like all my dreams came true. Rock Box is hands down the best karaōke bar in Seattle as far as style, song availability, and technology. The iPad is easy to use while imbibed and they add new songs weekly to stay up with what all the«kids» are listening to now-a-days. Service can be hit or miss but they are pretty great at keeping track of separate tabs. This always impresses me when three people are shouting drink orders while someone is screaming«Livin’ on a prayer» next to the server’s ear. Also, there is a phone is your room… use it! It provides drinks! Woo! Three pro tips: 1. If you have a group of 8 or less ask for the room that faces the street. You can turn the music on from that room to pump out onto the sidewalk outside and feel like a rock star to all of the passer-bys.(On second thought I probably shouldn’t share that because it is the best kept secret of Rock Box) 2. If you ask for a tambourine they will always supply. It’s a proven fact that life is better with tambourines. 3. A lot of people cancel rooms last minute so calling spur-of-the-moment-four-beers-deep on a Saturday really might score you a room. It’s always worth a try. Happy singing!

My review may be a bit critical as I have been to great Karaōke places and the many bars in the area of Seattle to compare it to as for a budget and value sense. Great for people who need a room scenario but it’s just too busy and cumbersome to be useful. My group went on a Thursday and it was still difficult to manage. The wait staff was a bit slow on the service and I found myself looking for them several times during my visit. Not the friendliest either It’s OK overall, and people enjoyed their experience. The issue I have is that for people who didn’t pick up the check, this place is awesome without any realization of value for what you get in return. It’s a bit pricey as they control your drink intake, they will price accordingly. The box itself is reasonable from what I understood but, ordering only a couple of drinks per person, made the check explode so be aware. I can entertain double the amount of people elsewhere for half the price. The environment is clean and refreshing and the bathroom was easy to access as well as good on availability. Entering and exiting the establishment is a bit crowded due to the lounge being situated upon entry. Drinks were above average on creativity and mix. Karaōke selection was easy and functional.

This place is the bomb. If you’re like me and wanted to try karaōke but didn’t know of a place that did Asian Style/KTV style karaōke, this is the way to go. First off, Rock Box is pretty sexy. It’s all dark and wood and well decorated, it feels like you’re in a VIP room or something when all you’re going to do is sing throwback songs from the late ‘90s and early 2000s and be generally embarrassing. Or maybe that’s just me… Anyway, the private rooms are awesome and they have ones for any size group. The song selection is HUGE, the iPad control system works well and is easy to use, the soundproofing is awesome, and the drinks are yummy.(I had the blood orange mojito.) The service is fast and friendly, and they make splitting the check between your group very easy. Overall, 10⁄10 would sing again.

TIP: They’ll keep separate tabs for individuals if you ask! This is really helpful for large groups. They’ll hand over individual checks with karaōke time as well as drink costs. PROS: — yummy and fun drinks! Example: HELLOKITTYCOCKTAIL! So cute, coconut flavored and rimmed with pink sugar! — huge song selection! You can use the book or search songs/artists on the iPad. Multiple people can queue songs at a time. — great sound in private rooms! Once you open the door to the hallway, you can hear other groups busting out, but when that door closes, it feels very private. CONS: — hella expensive if it’s not a Sunday! I think it cost $ 7 or $ 8 an hour per person for our group. My wallet was hurting at the end of the night. — no Korean songs! WHAT?! They have Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish options, but having been to many Korean karaōke places in LA, I was shocked that there weren’t any Korean songs in Rock Box’s book. Overall, a great time! Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for some late-night fun with friends(and have a bit of money to spend).

Came in, saw people singing in a bar/club environment. Our room was ready on time so we went in and there’s a guy there to explain how everything works. Super friendly. Lots of snack foods n drinks that you can order right from the room… Our server was great with checking on us. Had a great time singing all our childhood favorites and 90’s hits. It was a late late night so half our party was sleepy, should’ve sent their asses home when they started rapping The Boy is Mine.
