Great service! He collected lots of information before hand and got me out of a tight spot that a previous service repair person put me in.

If it’s a simple to get to fix, Scott might be the one to call. Otherwise, he’s pretty much worthless if it requires any heavy lifting or moving the appliance to diagnose the problem.

Scott is super efficient and knowledgeable. He leveled my dishwasher and repaired my oven very quickly. He also gave me tips about how to improve my dishwasher performance. It’s so great to find someone to help that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg! I highly recommend Scott!

For some background, I own my own condo and am a single 28 year old woman. I have never called a repair man in my whole life. After living with my dryer squeaking noise for way too long, I googled a repair service. Since Scott had fantastic reviews I decided to give him a call. I described the issue to him, sent him the model number of my dryer and when he came by, 30 minutes later it was fixed. I feel I paid a very fair price for the service I received and my dryer works amazing now. This was SO MUCH cheaper than paying for a new washer/​dryer. I highly highly recommend Scott!

He fixed our washing machine before and I forgot to give him a review. This time, our dishwasher is having a problem so I gave him a call. What I’m impressed about him is that he gave me instructions through phone first — ofcourse for free. I did what he told me and it basically worked!
He is very professional and very good on what he’s doing. Totally recommended.

Scott Wiseman knows his stuff, and I highly recommend this man! Fixed my dishwasher in no time, has a great rate, and is pleasant to work with. I called about a leaky fridge some time later, and he walked me through a few trouble shooting steps over the phone, because he didn’t want to waste my money on a service call that he wasn’t 100% certain he could fix. Honest, reliable, efficient… Great for West Seattle!

Ignore the poor reviews. Scott has always come through for me. Recently my dryer was heating weakly or not at all. Scott diagnosed the problem quickly. The chief suspect was a relay. He replaced it and I have had no trouble since.
So, Chevy B, did you ever get your washer fixed? If not, how would you know the diagnosis was incorrect? Just saying.

The summary: quick response but incorrect diagnoses. About 2 months ago my washing machine starting banging in the spin cycle. I found Scott on Unilocal,with lots of great reviews, and left him a message. He called back very quickly and was straightforward in telling me that the main bearing had gone out of the washer and I should just trash it and get a new one. I’m sure he was trying to save himself and me a lot of time in coming out to look at it in person. I asked if he was sure about his diagnoses and he said 95%.
Not wanting to dump a washing machine in the landfill if I didn’t have to, let alone the $ 1500 that the machine cost new, I looked up a bunch of stuff online. Short story is that I took the machine apart and saw that it was not the main bearing that had failed, but the «spider» part that attaches the tub of the washer to its axle. Turns out that part is guaranteed for life by Whirlpool and I got a replacement for free (though not without a tussle over the phone, calling in a supervisor, etc). My washer is back together and works great.
Caveat: Not many people would have the tenacity or courage (stupidity?) to attempt this kind of repair, and it took me lots of research and two weeks to take the machine apart and put it back together. In fairness to Mark, he had no way of knowing that I would be interested or capable of doing it. However, I still feel he should have said something more detailed, like «taking the machine apart to get to this area is very time consuming and will cost a lot of money» instead of telling me to trash it. I give him two stars simply because he did answer my call right away.

Scott was just amazing. We had a washer that would not drain and he was able to come out within 2 hours of me calling and asking him to come and fix it. Very knowledgeable and very friendly. Could not have ask for better repair man and help to explain and future proof the problem.

I recently purchased a house in West Seattle that came with relatively new appliances. Not long after the move our dryer started making a very unsettling noise. While I typically find myself very handy, this was something that I needed to leave to a professional. I used Unilocal,as I always do, to narrow down my options in the area — and immediately saw Scott Wiseman Appliances. I called Scott and received his answering service — only moments later, he returned the call. He was extremely friendly, professional, and based on my description of the noise — he set my mind to ease. I scheduled an appointment, and while I wasn’t there to meet him in person, I was told that he very quickly diagnosed the issue as a loose screw. He took the front door off of the dryer, adjusted the screw — and took the time to adjust both my washer and dryer while he was out as a preventative measure. It was only $ 80.
I will certainly call him back if any of my appliances act up and would recommend him to anyone who might be facing issues with theirs.

Scott came out to look at our old fridge. He gave a good recommendation and was pleasant in his visit. Hopefully we won’t need him again, but if so will definitely call Scott.

This will be a strange review because I had a good experience a few years ago, and a terrible experience more recently. Not sure what’s up with that. Here is the good and the bad:
Good — I had an appliance that needed a new control board a few years back, and he replaced it, no problem — and issues since.
Bad — I had him look a broken appliance, and he gave a very inaccurate diagnosis. I wouldn’t have minded the inaccurate diagnosis so much (those things happen), except he didn’t even look in the right place to make that kind of diagnosis. I later lifted off the panel that he had removed, and the problem element he indicated wasn’t even there. Literally, there would have been no way for him to make essentially ANY diagnosis of the like from the panel he removed. Also, the diagnosis made absolutely no logical sense based upon the symptoms we were experiencing. Very weird. He told us we had to just replace the appliance, took his payment for the 5 minutes he had spent with us, and too his leave. He was well-​paid for his 5-​minutes of doing essentially nothing.
Really confused by the difference, but won’t risk calling him again. I’m giving him 2 stars instead of 1 because he did fine for us a few years ago.

Having trouble with my garbage disposal and my dishwasher this afternoon. I was going to call O’neill plumbing but found Scott through one of the Unilocaler’s reviews of O’Neil.
I called him and he quickly called me back to let me know that he doesn’t service my Ravenna/​Bryant neighborhood nor does his brother, Mark. Bummer, right?
Well he was kind enough to answer a few of my stressed out questions over the phone. He offered me some great advice on my dishwasher, and suggested that I try to find someone like a reputable handy man to fix my garbage disposal versus spend a fortune on a $$$ plumber.
Thanks Scott for being so cool. sorry I am a rambler.
I hope someday you find another relative that’ll service my neighborhood.

We thought our washer had a leak (it was actually our cat gnawing on our emergency water containers) but we weren’t sure if it was the washer. He showed up treated my wife with respect and didn’t try to fix something that wasn’t broken.
When something does break he will get the call.

Scott deserves every one of these stars. Based on these other reviews, it looks like I’m lucky enough to live in West Seattle.
He was on time, took the time to explain what was happening with my dryer. And unlike Sears, actually fixed my appliance.
I’ll call him again if something breaks.

I’d give Scott 6 stars if possible.
A couple weeks ago, I came home to a washer that was full of wet clothes and water at the end of a cycle. My wife admitted to «possibly» overloading the laundry machine. Not being handy at home appliance repairs (I don’t even own a good toolset), I did the only thing I knew… went to Google. Googling «laundry machine won’t drain» found links to Youtube, with a dozen different ways to try and fix the problem. Knowing that I’d probably make the problem worse, I turned to Unilocal for help. Searching for appliance repairman, I found a few different options, but all of them peppered with negative reviews of «bait and switch» tactics and other typical saleman approaches.
Depressed and resigned that I would have to just pay someone to show up and cross my fingers that they’d be honest, I then came across someone’s review suggesting to call Scott Wiseman. What a relief to see a repairman that had such a shining reputation on Unilocal!The downside… he was so busy, he only serviced West Seattle and I was in downtown! However, I decided to call.
Scott, as many other reviewers have mentioned, is genuinely out to help. When I told him of my problem and my location, he said, «unfortunately, don’t service that area, but I have a few minutes, tell me what’s going on.» I then went on to tell him my problem, and he went on to suggest that if I felt comfortable with it, pull the cover off the laundry machine and check the pump. He gave me 5 – 10 minutes of pointers and suggestions, and told me that most of the time, when the water won’t drain, its usually the pump. He also gave me the name of his brother, Mark, and said that he may service the area, and to give him a call if I couldn’t fix it.
I then called Mark, and he confirmed everything Scott said, and told me he could come out in a week and it would cost around $ 100 to fix if I couldn’t fix it myself.
Energized and confident after my conversation with Scott and Mark, I set out and spent an hour on the machine. With a borrowed shopvac, a screwdriver, and a pair of pliers, I removed a sock that got sucked into the pump. Problem fixed!
Mark and Scott could have easily scheduled me for a time and make a quick $ 100. However, they saw the problem could be resolved easily, and encouraged me to try. If any problems ever come up again that require appliance repair, I’ll be hiring the Wisemans!

I called Scott, though he doesn’t service beyond West Seattle, and though he tried to trouble shoot our refer problem over the phone, we were unable to pinpoint the problem. He then directed me to his brother Mark, at a different business number, who guided me over the phone on how to disable the beeping problem with the freezer. Both Wisemans were very helpful, and spent time with me helping me solve a problem, and saved me a service call.
Very courteous and helpful, I highly rec. the Wisemans.

We used Scott once, quite a few years ago, and his diagnosis wasn’t a good one. He was prompt and worked well with my wife, which I appreciated. So when our 14 year-​old washing machine stopped doing the spinny thing recently, I gave him a call. Scott came that day, spent a couple hours doing diagnosis/​troubleshooting with me, and gave me a rough estimate of my options to repair with a promise to call the next day.
When solicited, he also gave me a frank opinion — not what I wanted to hear necessarily, but advice that I took to heart. He said I should cut my losses and buy a new machine, and when I asked for a specific recommendation he gave me details on what to avoid as well as a couple basic pointers. In addition to his no-​nonsense approach to the work, I was impressed that Scott was quick to suggest something that would end his opportunity to make money from me.
I wish everyone I dealt with was so straightforward.

Well, tried to make an appt to get a washer/​dryer repair in capitol hill area, but Scott tells me he only services West Seattle area. He’s so busy — booked out 5 days in advance he couldn’t come over to the hill area
… well, I give 3 stars for his honesty … and must be doing good business… too bad he can’t branch out and couldn’t recommend anyone for me.
