Friendly(if inattentive) service, ok food, dirty store with overflowing trashcans and stained bits of newspaper strewn around. Downtown, this place would get no stars, but in this area, your only other coffee options involve young people of questionable judgement in bikinis, so I recommend it if you find yourself in the hood. Good tea selection.

The place closed near the end of January. Clarissa you and your establishment will be missed. It was a hub in a neighborhood that lacks cohesion. Thank You Mayor McCheese, your bike cronies and your war on cars.

This is one of my favorite places to go on Sunday mornings. it is roomy, well lit and quiet and the staff are friendly and know most of the regulars by name. They even bring the food to your table. I really like how the owner(Clarissa) has tried to made this a community space with Jazz and poetry readings and language practice meet ups. We need more places like this in the North End, since we already have too many chains and big box stores. If you’re looking for a loud, hipster scene this isn’t it, but if you want a quiet place to read the paper or do the Sunday crossword this is your place.

In the world of crazy, this is a refuge. It’s a local coffee shop and we stop there frequently going to or from the park.

In response to Roda’s comment… yes, I am very aware of how much daycare costs are these days. It’s all part of planning for a child. However, when your baby is on your shoulder and you are preparing hot beverages, it becomes a dangerous and unhygenic environment for the child. I hope you don’t do that at home, so why would you do that at work? Do you realize how hot those machines can get? No? Try touching one and let me know how it goes. Do you know how much that baby would suffer if she were burned? Are you so cheap, you’d put your baby at risk? Also, if I recall, there were dogs allowed in there as well. I sure as hell don’t see that at other food establishments. I remember the baby was sick at the time too, go figure. Many places that serve food have very strict employee policies about allowing babies and pets inside. If owners and managers allowed every staff member to bring in their babies and pets because daycare costs are high these days, it wouldn’t make work very pleasant for others now, would it? I don’t think anyone that posted comments for Seattle Mobile Espresso are exaggerating. It’s a shame that it is in a great location, however it is horrible coffee shop. Maybe you like microwaved soggy sandwiches and lukewarm odd tasting coffee, but I don’t. Again, @ Roda, this is a personal review, of course it requires a bit of judgment.

I love this place! I don’t care what the other comments say. People are too judgmental and over esgaterrating about her baby being there. Do you NOT realize how much day care costs nowadays? Anyway, this place is a great location because it’s out in the open and they cater to every who walks in. There are many shows there and it’s a perfect place to have a show. It’s like a community center and the art is very beautiful!

This is the best place for people who need a quite and comfortable place to work. They have great prices, amazing discounts(including free bevs after the first 15-ish and they always have half priced goodies). I got a quad americano with white moca and a cinnamon roll for just over five bucks! The staff is really friendly and amazing. They have killer hot dogs and sandwiches too. This is the best local spot in the upper Greenwood area and I would not be able to live without it.

Local, soothing art is posted on the the walls. Books are available on the shelves. High ceiling and lots of windows make a well-lit shop. Seating fills on evenings that feature poetry and art. I love the selection of healthy tea — it’s huge. The salads are beautifully crafted. A lot of the customers know each other, and provide a welcoming, friendly environment — even for newcomers. A lot of the baked items are from Alki Bakery.

This place happens to be close to my house and I decided to give it a try. The barista was nice but slow. I had to give her my order a couple times and there was absolutely nothing fancy about it. My latte was luke warm and the espresso had a weird taste to it. I dont think I will be trying this place again.

This place sucks! I have nothing against the owners or people who work here, I just flat-out think it’s a poor example of a coffee shop. Coffee shops are not difficult to get right, that’s why there are so many successful shops in our city. Seattle Mobile Espresso is a joke. This happens to be the closest coffee shop to my house(unfortunately), so I have been here two times. I will not go for a third visit. The ladies behind the counter are perfectly nice older ladies, they just don’t know how to make decent espresso. The food in the case is very bad and to make things worse, they’ll microwave something for you. I don’t want a breakfast sandwich microwaved! The location is great and the space inside has potential. Someone needs to take over this joint and turn it into something better.

After only going twice to the café I’ll start out with 3 stars. The sandwiches are excellent. Haven’t tried the soup yet but I will. Nice atmosphere. The review that states most of the customers are older makes sense since it’s in a building housing the elderly! Only one problem is that the first time I ordered a sandwich, no problem. The next time I came in and ordered one, the server went over and looked in the cold case and said«why don’t you try the — – ? When I asked if they were out of the sandwich I wanted, she said that they try to sell the cold case sandwiches first! I don’t WANT an ABC sandwich, I want an XYZ one. This seemed really really odd to me. Understandably it’s a small business and they want to be frugal but why make up sandwiches in the cold case in the first place. If it’s for a grab-n-go that makes sense but I want to sit and read and eat the sandwich I am in the mood for!

Love this place! I love the beverages, including some fun and unusual ones. Love the comfy chairs and welcoming vibe. Love the owner – she ROCKS! Kind of wish for longer hours, but, considering the neighborhood, I understand. Really like supporting this friendly local business.

Pretty cute little spot. Good for sunday morning coffee. Definitely a place to become a regular at. Owned by a single mom that does the most. Super sweet with great customer service. Aside from usual coffee and tea, this place has smoothies, sandwiches, soups, breakfast goodies and much more. Sausage breakfast sandwich is pretty great. She sells a bunch of local at there and the shelves are stocked with board games and there’s also a TV. One could easily spend several hours in this cute little shop.

Good homemade-tasting food, relaxing atmosphere and great service! I love coming to this coffeehouse/arthouse to eat one of their egg sandwiches and drink some coffee. Lots of space to read, write or converse. Clarissa has done a great job making the place homey, eclectic and community-based. What’s so cool, and unbelievable at first, about this place is that there is some kind of artistic entertainment going on every evening. The jazz showcases are fun to listen to and the accompanying dinners are fantastic. Hopefully, Seattle Mobile Espresso will attract even more young musical talent in the future.

This is a genuine local place and Clarissa, the owner, has made it a very comfortable community place. I have a project going on nearby and she tries to pump me for information, which I can only dole out in generalities. But I always stop in whenever I visit the site. There’s artwork on the walls, a big TV, and a clean restroom. They serve beer and wine, but I’m only here during the day, too early to get a little loopy. The Bitter Lake neighborhood here is yet another Seattle neighborhood becoming gentrified with mid-rise condos, but not anywhere on the scale of the Ballard metamorphosis.

This is one of my favorite spots to spend some time on the internet with a great drink. The owner is very friendly and even manages to remember my name, which always surprises me. There are a decent amount of places to sit and there seems to always be an outlet nearby for my laptop. There is truth in advertising for Seattle Mobile Espresso; they do offer free WiFi with a great connection. My wife and I actually met a local web designer who spends a lot of time doing his work at the shop. I have never run into any issues with getting a password for the internet due to not making a minimum purchase. As for the drinks, I am not a coffee connoisseur in any sense of the word, but for my tastes(which are bent primarily towards blended and cold drinks) I am always pleased with what is served here. I really like the fact that the employees have no problem with taking time to help you decide what delicious concoction to try. There are plenty of syrups and such to choose from and combine in a crazy amount of fashions. The shop is located near an area where there are a lot of assisted living spaces, so the crowd is often composed of older people, which is fine with me. I actually prefer a calmer atmosphere over a teen-riddled or bustling hipster joint. This is a place where I can get some studying done or relax and have some room to breathe. The shop does host special events though, which includes local bands and group gatherings among other things, so it can get crowded during these times. I think this mostly happens on Saturdays. It’s definitely worth a shot to drop into this place if you are in the area. I would recommend going on a weekday when there are no events so that you can get a better feel for the place though.

I could have sworn the wifi was free here. But as soon as I sat down with my newly purchased drip to check my email, I was presented with a «Password of the day.» dialog. When I asked, I was told that«normally» I needed to by «a little more» than just a drip coffee to use the internet. Between the above, the continuous and loud elevator music and being the only person(including the barista) below the age of 40, I don’t think I’ll be back. It is paining me to drink this terrible drip and I think I’d rather go home and have instant. If you’re a glutton for abuse(especially auditory and caffeinated) come here! You’ll love it! This place is more for the business person/parent trying to start out the day among peers.

I love the coffee, sandwiches, beautiful open airy layout, open mic, music nights, third tuesday poets and writers series, and the fact that this is more than a coffeehouse. I always loved the idea of the«third place», that place that is not your home or work, but a third place where you go to be a part of a community. Clarissa has done an amazing job of that with Seattle Mobile Espresso!

It was two weeks ago that I visited Seattle Mobile Espresso. The owner was quite lovely & accomodating. The space was comfortable & light filled. My chai tea latte was delicious, and I enjoyed the banana nut bread greatly! I’d venture to say, you’d do well to visit this spot — often! :)

This place makes me nostalgic for the café I worked at on the east coast. It is so cute and quaint and they offer a good variety of things. They have books and board games and lots of tables to hang out at. The service, however friendly(EXTREMELY), was very slow for a lunch rush today. They offer soups, a couple salads, sandwiches,(deli, panini, and breakfast), a WIDE array of pastry goods, espresso, smoothies… and FREEWIFI! I ended up waiting close to 45 minutes for 2 sandwiches and a fruit salad, but the staff was so accomadating and apologetic, even giving me 2 free drinks for future visits to compensate the wait! That was stellar customer service in my book! Albeit the wait, The sandwiches were freakin fantastic! Big, loaded high with ultra fresh toppings, definately worth the 6.50! The fruit salad was so fresh and has a yogurt dressing. I had a «snow cone» while I waited, a combination of passion fruit and raspberry that the girl at the register talked me into. I understand this is a family run business, and they must still be getting a hang of things, because it seemed rather chaotic with three people in the back to prepare items. I’m sure after they work out the kinks this will be an AWESOME and much needed addition to the Bitter Lake neighborhood! –Quick suggestion to the lovely ladies that own this place– Print out some«take out» menus and get a phone– phoning in our lunch order would save on wait time!
