You would think you were at a café on the UW campus with all the calculators and school books you see on the tables here. You definitely get a study hall vibe when walking in. Yet outside looks like a car show. Is this where all the rich smart kids go with their BMWs and Benz? *parks Nissan 10 blocks away* FANTASTIC service here. Everyone who helped us had such awesome personalities and were super helpful. I saw in another review someone referred to her as «The girl who is mixed with Asian and white» and unfortunately, I have to refer to her that way since I didn’t catch her name. But mixed girl — you’re awesome and I appreciate your wonderful service. Finding a table was some what hard since the place was packed with people studying and playing board games. If you’ve ever been to Oasis in Chinatown, it’s similar to that, except with cooler shit to do and better food. They even have a piano, drums and some sort of guitar there. GETCHOMUSICON, YO! The rainbow sushi burrito was the bomb dot com. If you get the popcorn chicken and like ranch, be a true fatty and bring your own ranch or go without. The ranch here taste like week old, 90 year old ass. It was gross.

I’m sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo coming back, this is how satisfied I am. Customer service was on point from the lady that looked half Asian/Caucasian, wish I’ve gotten her name The plating was awesome, food is pretty good, had the taro balls, meat sauce over rice, and lemon pepper chicken.

I found this place while searching for a Ramen Burger in Seattle. Went on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was filled with groups of high school and college-aged students doing work on their laptops. It was loud, it was hard to find a seat, but the hustle & bustle was welcoming and it had great décor. While the ramen burger turned out to be just slightly above average, I was pleasantly surprised by everything else. The Sushi Burrito was awesome. Between crab, salmon, avocado, and lots more they’ve figured out a great blend of ingredients for the burrito, and I wasn’t overwhelmed by the oft-too-fishy seaweed paper holding it together. The«Beef Noodle Soup» otherwise known as Phở, was delicious but standard, and was probably the least interesting of 3 things we had. Overall, I would definitely come back here. Though, probably at a time when it was a little less busy.

Cute little café with plenty of seating, great ambiance– We got the popcorn chicken, rainbow sushi burrito, and the beef noodle soup. Decent tasting food and good presentation. The sushi burrito was good, but not fantastic. The popcorn chicken similarly so. Portions are small for the noodle soup, but flavor is decent. The A/C on a hot day is turnt up, which was a great escape from the heat. Would definitely go back to get drinks and hangout, it seems like a great spot for small groups to play games and service is on point!

Very loud and echoey atmosphere. Food prep and service is pretty quick. Tables are hard to come by since they are first come first served. Downside is that this place is in the same facility as the grocery store – fruit flies were hovering here and there. I must say that the modernness of this place is impressive. When you order, they will give you a card with a number and when you find a place to sit, you insert the card into a reader on the table. This gets put into the system so the waiters know where you take a seat! There’s also a button on top of the reader so you can call a waiter if you need service. How cool and convenient is that?! Tapioca pearls: warm and almost melt in your mouth consistency – how it should be! Grass jelly: comes in large chunks. Good! Caramel milk tea: tapioca pearls were warm(nice to know they are«fresh»). Lightly sweetened and hint of caramel. Just how it sounds, caramel and milk. Tasty but not for those with a sweet tooth because it isn’t pure sugar – it only tickles your tastebuds with a dash of sweetness. Beef noodle soup: broth is super tasty, not too salty, beefy, and a hint of lime. Braised beef was a bit on the dry side and somewhat chewy. I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt that it’s not always like this. Baby bok choy was still crunchy, which is a plus! I hate it when places overcook it and it’s all wilted and chewy. Minced pork rice bowl: wasn’t a fan of the chewiness that was present in the mix. Flavor is a bit on the bland side. Preserved egg’s yolk was on the dry side. Wasn’t impressed – pictures look better than the taste. Shoyu Ramen: buttery broth! Yum! Egg yolks were just the right texture! Pork slices were good and not chewy at all. The shredded ginger in the soup was a nice addition. Crispy lemon wings: lemon pepper flavor, heavier on the lemon side(how I like it) and just the right amount of crisp! Fried fish tofu: SUPERSPICY. It’s like my mouth touched lava. I literally had it touch my mouth and tongue before I felt the regret. The burn lasted for an eternity. I didn’t even chew the sucker. Never again. The sweat and burning sensation was not worth it! So you masochists go ahead and take my share. Mango Italian soda: it’s got mango purée in it instead of syrup! Mango smoothie: tastes like real mango and isn’t too sweet. Nice creamy consistency and refreshing! Meat man: don’t get it. Just don’t. Too much sugar in the sausage. Pickled veggies too sour. BBQ pork tasted stale. Egg overcooked. Chicken dry. Just don’t get it. The flavors don’t blend well. Tomato basil bisque soup: light and creamy consistency. Tangy with a hint of pepper and some minced onions. Very good! Comes with a slice of garlic bread – I recommend adding a second slice.

Stopped by over the weekend to check this place out as I heard and read some good things about it. Came by on a Saturday, that was my mistake, it was pretty busy inside, a lot of young people being loud, camping out at booths, yelling across the way, kinda got me annoyed. Ordering your food & drink is up front, so we checked out the food menu and got some things to try. Good luck finding a table to eat on a weekend. We had to cruise the joint a few times and considered asking a few single diners to share their table, but luckily one opened up. Had to clear a few dishes out and wipe down the table but whatever. It’s a pretty large place, nicely decorated and comfy feeling. We got the«Rainbow Sushi Burrito» to share, it was pretty good, fresh items inside, tasty sauce and pretty good size. Served in a neat little file box. We tried their«Popcorn Chicken”(spicy), comes in a mini fryer basket. It was fine. Pretty standard popcorn chicken, but heavily dusted in togarashi-like spice mix. I don’t mind spicy, but they went pretty heavy on the spice. Comes with toothpicks to eat it with. Lastly, we tried their«Ramen Burger». Never had a ramen burger before, so this is my first go at one. It was ok, but nothing that would make me specifically come back for it. It definitely is ramen used as the bread, some light seasoning on top of the ramen(probably from the spice packet the instant noodles comes with), has melted cheese, piece of lettuce, fried egg and a well-done cooked burger. The meat didn’t really have a whole lot of flavor and the meat wasn’t really flattened out like a burger so I didn’t get to the burger until halfway eating through. It was kind of like a meatball. For $.50 cents you can add curly fries with your burger, they definitely give you $.50 cents worth of fries. Overall, the food was just ok. Service at the counter was very friendly & nice. They will give you a number card to plug into your table and they will bring out the food to you. If you order more than one item, they seem to bring out your food order one by one as it is ready. For me, may come back if in the area again. It shares the same building and right next door to Asian Food Center and a few other restaurants.

This place was a little hard to find since I am not from the area. It is next door to Hobby Lobby and a market. Therefore, parking is easy. The café is loud and has plenty of seating. It has a modern and upbeat atmosphere. Customers are there to study and hang out with friends. There is also free WIFI and it works well. Workers are nice and friendly. I like how the guy who took my order made sure to repeat my orders to make sure what he has down is correct. I ordered 2 drinks: lavender milk tea with tapioca and honey milk tea with tapioca. Both with 100% sweetness(which came out to be a little sweet for me so next time I’d go for 75%) and both still tasted amazing. The tapioca pearls were soft and chewy = fresh. The drinks had flavor. And it did not taste powdery. I also, ordered food; the Royal California Roll and my goodness! It tastes so good! I got four big pieces filled with imitation crab, cream cheese and a little bit of unagi sauce. I wish I had ordered more. I was satisfied.

The milk teas are pretty legit and comparable to Young Tea in the ID. The teas are strong and flavorful. I tried the Black sugar milk tea at 100% sweet and it was a bit too sweet. I also had the black milk tea at 75% and it was perfect. Boba was sweet and chewy which I liked the most. –1 star for a .25 cent charge for less ice without notice. I get that no ice has a charge but… less ice? The beef noodle soup was good but very small portions. The unagi sushi burrito was very small as well! I wish the food items were a bit bigger and a bit cheaper… haha. Great place to play board games with friends, hang out with friends, study or grab and go. It’s a huge café with lots of tables! Free wifi is not bad.

Ok so I ended up visiting this place sooner than I expected because my mom was in the hospital for a few days and was craving the Rainbow Sushi Burrito. So upon going back I order the same order as last time and hoping they would get right this time. I decided to ask for the manager of Rain Café. I introduced myself and told him my experience these last couple visits. RIght away he was bothered with my experience and wanted to correct the mistake. Even though he was bothered I felt better about him being concerned about the situation and wanting to make every customers experience at Rain Café a good one. He mentioned he will address the issue to his team and if I ever run into an issue to go see him directly. Hopefully this will push the team in the right direction and hopefully be successful in the long run. Like I told the manager, it didn’t add up that the food was really good but the customer service was straight up wack and I added that if the food wasn’t good then I wouldn’t have bothered to bring up the issue with his team. Its very rare these days to find local good food joints that makes you truly enjoy your experience, but with bad customer service greatly kills that mood. Thankfully I was able to re-establish I new insight on Rain Café and be able to give them another chance and enjoy their food. Thank you Nick, I look forward to my next visit and have another yummy Unagi Sushi Roll! Happy Eats Everyone!

I’ve gotten a couple drinks to go so I waited to write my review until I had an actual sit down visit! I recently met a friend here for tea and conversation. We lucked out and grabbed a table. I’ve poked my head inside after leaving HK Dim Sum and consistently found this place packed with no tables. The café is wonderfully spacious and stylishly outfitted. Their drink menu is expansive and the food menu offers ramen bowls, sushi burritos, rice bowls, and a bevy of snacky apps like fries, fried tofu, and spicy popcorn chicken. There are outlets at every table and various seating options like tables with chairs, booths, and sofas toward the front. The employees were all exceedingly friendly and the tables were clean. I ordered a kumquat lemon iced tea($ 3.95) with lychee jellies($ 0.50) and it was wonderfully refreshing with slices of lemon. Since I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, I really liked the fact that I could choose my sweetness level: normal, medium, low, or no sugar. I ordered their spicy popcorn chicken($ 4.95) and a house salad($ 4.25) for my lunch. The chicken wasn’t greasy and had a nice heat level. I would have liked a dipping sauce but I made do with the sesame dressing that came with my salad. The salad was delicious and packed with greens, baby spinach, fresh cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and avocado slices. I might have tried one of their desserts but they were all really pricy. Since I already dropped $ 15 on tea and nibbles, I opted to go without this time around. They were beautifully made though and were hella tempting in that glass case… We were there for nearly two hours and never felt rushed. When we were done with a glass or a dish, an employee stopped by and asked if they could take it. I’d definitely return because they are a stone’s throw away from our place and a nice treat after dim sum at HK next door!

Out of all the times I’ve got milk tea here, I haven’t really been satisfied with the taste. But their shakes are really good. As for their food, I love their beef bowl and wings. I haven’t tried their other food items yet but I will in the near future! Their interior is really nice though. Great for studying or catching up with friends!

I have been meaning to try Rain Café for a while. Every time I tried, Pop Pop Thai Street Food that’s in the same parking lot called my name. Since I had Thai yesterday, I was finally able to make it past my favorite Thai restaurant. Rain Café is a large attractive space with the order counter by the far wall. The menus are at the counter. There’s quite a bit to decide for first timers. The food menu is two pages, the drinks are two pages, and the display case is packed with great looking desserts. If there’s any line, they should have menus available at the back of the line so you can be deciding before reaching the counter. We ordered after taking quite a bit of time to decide. We were very happy with the Mixed Platter Over Rice. All the ingredients(shrimp, fishball, squid and veg) were fresh and the sauce was light and flavorful. A very hot(habanero?) sauce was on the side. Only one little piece of squid made it onto our plate, but otherwise, no complaints about quality or price. The Rainbow Sushi Burrito was a wonderful combination of flavors. It was like a huge California Roll with salmon and vegies added. A tasty sauce completed the party-time for your taste buds. The Matcha Cake that we got was the last piece left from yesterday’s cake, so it was a bit dry on the edges. The flavor was great, though, and not too sweet. $ 8.50 was too much. $ 5.50 would have been fair. Some items were priced on the high side, but it probably subsidizes the people using the wi-fi nursing a tea, of whom, there were quite a few.

Rain Café was a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I’m a big fan of the space. There are plenty of tables, booths, and chairs to accommodate plenty of people. The dark wood is just my style. Aside from the furniture, there is a keyboard which my kiddo loves to play and board games. Super Mario chess is my favorite followed by Jenga. They’ve got a TV in there which has come in handy when I want to watch football. The first time I went here, it should have been my last. I came with a group of 5 and we were ready to try some drinks and dessert. Even though they would be open for a few more hours, the staff told us they weren’t making anymore drinks due to a holiday. After speaking with the manager, he agreed to make all of our drinks and even brought us a few treats to try. That level of customer service is the only reason I went back. From the beginning, I’ve been confused about the large amount of staff in relationship to work performed. They always seem to have plenty of people back there. However, that doesn’t translate to quicker service times. I will say that everyone has always been friendly. The coffee drinks are my favorite and most consistent. Strong brews on the french press, and smooth textures on the lattes. The bubble tea is okay. The avocado smoothie with an espresso shot is very heavy and decadent. It’s not something I would drink every day but it’s a nice treat. The smooth consistency of the avocado paired with the coffee is a unique flavor that I don’t experience on a regular basis. As some have noticed, their food and desserts are inconsistent. I’ve been going there since they opened and they have removed items and added others. For instance, my kiddo loves their chocolate cake so I tried to order a whole cake. They don’t make it anymore. The dessert case always has some goodies in it. The mousse cakes are good but don’t really seem to have«cake» in them. They seem like a straight mousse. Light flavors like peach remind me of a summer day. The cream puffs are okay — nothing special. The rainbow cake is gorgeous to look at. It tastes like unflavored crepes layered together with a very mild whipped cream. My favorite dessert so far is the Hokkaido cupcake — a little cup of heaven. Lovely cake with a custard surprise in the middle. Yum! In terms of hot food, the chicken wings and sweet potato fries are okay. The spicy popcorn chicken has good texture and isn’t too oily. However, it’s also not spicy. The ramen burger leaves much to be desired. The«bun» wasn’t cooked properly and greasily flopped around as I tried to bite it. The burger was okay but overall, it was a big mess that wasn’t very tasty. I keep going back for the coffee, space, and customer service. As long as they have the Hokkaido cupcake, I’ll keep ordering it and trying new things. I’d just like to see them stabilize their menu to establish some consistency.

Love finally having an Asian dessert café in Seattle! I was so excited to try all the drinks and food based on Unilocal photos and reviews, and it was overall pretty good. The boba, which is my thang, was just ‘ok’. Tea flavor was a little watered down and the boba balls were a bit too soft.(that sounds so snooty but I take my boba quality seriously :). Side note: Sharetea is better. It was still good though and I would definitely come again and try other drinks. Keep n mind this is only my first time here so I’m definitely giving it some more chances! The atmosphere is awesome. Very spacious, clean, sleek and inviting. I love the lamps, images of rainy days around the perimeter, and 2 trees in the middle of the café! It’s well lit and hip. It’s fun and welcoming fir people hanging out and playing games or eating a snack. It’s noisy fyi so not the best to study or read but doable with headphones. Free wifi and plugs for laptops. They have lots of great snack food options like ramen, popcorn chicken, sushi burrito, ramen burger and beef noodle soup. The deserts look super cute and yummy. The rainbow cake looks intriguing but at about 8 bucks couldn’t bring myself to try it. The other food is slightly on the higher end pricing wise but not unreasonable(around 9 for ramen or beef noodle soup). Can’t wait to try other things and come back with friends to hang out… and make them order the rainbow cake so i can have a bite :)

This café has a very casual and trendy vibe. It’s a popular spot for 20s and young professionals — this place has a fun ambiance, but can get quite crowded full of studying college students. Personally, I like coming during off-peak hours. Rainbow and matcha layer cake can be visually appealing, but is bland and downright tasteless; otherwise, food is delicious. Service is fast and friendly, and food prices are reasonable(bakery, not so much). There’s also ample parking outside. All things considered, good place for hanging out and catching up with friends.

First, I would like to say not to trust older views and photos because my experience here is that things must have changed drastically. I came to Rain Café to introduce brick toast((honey toast, ice cream toast, w/e you want to call it) to my boyfriend. From what I had seen on Unilocal, the item was on the menu it and photos of it looked pretty good. When we looked at the menu, however, this item is not listed at all and the employee had to disappear into the kitchen for 10 minutes in order to figure out if they even still offer this. They told me they do still serve ice cream toast, so we ordered one. The toast we received did not look anything like the photos on Unilocal,or like a standard brick toast. It was 3 slices of toast with 3 scoops of ice cream, no other toppings or sauce and completely underwhelming and overpriced. Deciding to give the place another shot, we order a ramen burger, popcorn chicken, and an extra side of fries for dinner. Not only was the severe incredibly disorganized and slow, but no one seemed to have a clue what they were doing. I never received the extra side of fries. The ramen burger was medicore and the portion sizes were crazy small. The burger had no flavor and I have no idea what the hype about this place and their food comes home. The popcorn chicken was overcooked dry, and again was flavorless and came in such a small portion I cannot believe we paid 5 dollars for a few lousy pieces of overcooked chicken. Now for the bubble tea. Again, this took 20+ minutes to receive after ordering. They serve it with plastic lids, not sealed so you have no way to mix your drink. My drink came with half of the cup full of foam which got everything sticky and was leaking from this terrible lid. The boba itself was way too soft and mushy, and the tea was pretty dull. They have a very limited selection, so unless you’re interested in very basic fruit tea then please look elsewhere. I would NEVER return here. Rain café is over hyped, unorganized, over priced and all around not worth returning to. I regret ever stopping by. There are such better options in Seattle, let alone this same plaza. Go nextdoor to either of the dim sum places and you will be MUCH better off.

Really a 3.5, but i’m pumping it up to 4, because the ambiance is oh so very pretty and cozy :) Tried the ramen burger, and the rice burger. Its flavorful, but these are not meant to be eaten like a burger. There’s a runny egg, that will run all over your hands, and the rice tends to start falling a part. I finished the burger with no additional complaints with a fork and spoon. nom nom nom. They were also very stingy about the amount of fries that comes with my burger. For a premium price entrée, that is mostly just carbs that should be valued by the cent… you should really top it off the with fries.(opps i guess i lied. That was another complaint). There’s bubble tea and dessert. Which both passed above average in my books :) I tried their rainbow milles crêpe. Its a lot more dense than i would like it to be, but still good taste. I really like their hokkaido muffin cake. Their bbtea. isn’t the bombchickabowwow. but good tea flavor, and you can choose your sweet preference :) A café that kinda reminds you of the cafes back in asia. All cutesy, and pretty like… Taste did not Sissappoint, but did not wow either. will come back :)

Rain Café is part of an Asian grocery Store. When you first go into Rain Café, you’ll walk into a huge space. I really like the interior design of the Café; it’s very spacious, there are many booths for people to study and work at and also the decorations are very well placed. Note: No one seats you, you have to go to the cashier to order your food first and then they’ll bring it to your booth. I got the Gyudon(Beef) Bowl and their Milk tea with Boba. My S.O. got the Unagi(Eel) Sushirrito(Sushi Burrito) and the Matcha Green Tea Boba. When I received my Gyudon Bowl it smelled delicious. Once I took a bite of the beef and onion combination, it was soooo mouth watering. When I finished eating it, I wanted more! It wasn’t too salty or too sweet, it was just right! The Milk Tea was really good too! It actually tasted like TEA! The right amount of «creaminess» for me. The only weird thing was that the tapioca was really soft. Like REALLY soft. Like Jello Soft? That threw me off. My S.O. loved the Unagi Sushirrito. It had the right amount of Unagi and other content, to fill him up. Later, I wanted to try out one of their dessert. I mean, they have a whole case filled with adorable and colorful dessert, so why not? We got the Rainbow Cake and it was like a crap ton of crepes stacked on top of one another(but they each had their own colors). In my opinion, it was like crepes filled with the asian style whipped cream in between it. It wasn’t sweet enough for my taste, but it was still good. Overall, great service. Everyone was very friendly and they were very attentive towards cleaning up plates/trash. I would totally come back again :)

The honey toast here is good! It would’ve been even better with a few more scoops of ice cream, maybe inside the toast. You’ll find bite-sized toasted bread inside and it’s tasty! The portion is great for a small group to share; maybe 3 – 4 people. Their teas are pretty good, but they run out of boba which is disappointing. I would expect a bubble tea spot to constantly have boba available. We also ordered snacks to share: popcorn chicken, takoyaki, ramen burger and curly fries. The fries tasted like the Jack in the Box kind, and the popcorn chicken wasn’t the usual breading at other Taiwanese joints, but more like panko breading. The ramen burger wasn’t that good, the meat and cheese were the best part. I didn’t try to takoyaki but it looked good!

Can’t believe I have never heard of or noticed this place before! It’s great! It’s spacious, clean, modern and the drinks are great! This is a great place to come to do work, meet friends, or just chill. Plenty of different seating options with lots of outlets. I got a double double(milk?) tea(hot) which I think was black tea with espresso. It was awesome! You can pick your sweetness too which is great. I also got an avocado drink which I did not like at all. Another drink I tried was a honey lemon tea. It was also fantastic. Really love the drinks here. They aren’t cheap but they are good. They do have some food options but mainly pork and beef which I don’t eat. That makes for few available options so don’t go hungry if you aren’t a pork/beef eater. Great place for drinks and the place itself.
